however, as greatful as I am, I still believe that it is in all our best interest to elect a new consul every year, so that the current cunsul will not be corrupted by the power; though we all are great people we are still human.
Vote: ATPG

No more voting. This turn is over.
I'll count the votes and go through PM's and hopefully I can open the next turn within a hour or so.
The Senate is open for discussions!
Turn 4
Consul Secura held a triumph of her own in Roma. As she said it was "dedicated to the men who gave up their own lives so that your own may live on; we will ensure that their sacrifices are never forgotten." Apparently some members from the Civic faction were so impressed by the might of the army that they decided to switch their faction. -2 to Civic faction
In the same time people talked in the latrines how senator Romanic made very expensive gifts to some senators in the Religious faction. Those gifts were so magnificent that they decided to leave the Religious faction. -2 to Religious faction
However, the more important news was that the leaders of the Populist faction, Romanic and Diamondeye, promised bread and games to the plebs. Who could refuse such an offer? Even senators were interested. So interested that many of them left their faction. -3 to Civic faction; -3 to Religious faction
Behind the great temple of Jupiter three men met. After some heated discussion they nodded to each other and each left their own way. -2 to Populist faction

More bribes, ATPG? As far as I can recount the actions of the night, we did no offence to your faction, yet you did to ours, and yet you deem it fair to weaken our faction even more? No. I would have voted differently today if you hadn't started out like that.
By the way, apologies for my absence when we got to electing a consule. I obviously believe those who voted for ATPG made a wrong choice, yet I understand GE's reason about wanting a different faction in the seat every year. Let's Vote:Diamondeye this time around. I'll be a fair consule.

I am not sure yet who is the right consul for the next year. So far consul Pizzaguy is doing a good job

These night time attacks on Civic are cowardly and shameful, and it is both the Military and the Populists who give us such grief.

Grief? As opposed to the bureaucrats who seem determined to hamper the military at every step?
Nine out of every ten votes that you make are levied against the military; the 'grief' that you claim to be subjected to is mere recompense for your own actions!
What will you do when the merchants become more powerful, holding far more sway over the Senate than the military ever has? Will you continue to hound us then, or will you actually wake up and realise that the fine balance we strive to maintain is being torn apart at the seams?!

While the military have served us well, I deem them unfit to lead us well. As such I am happy to back the Merchants and the Religious men of our Empire, for they have not attacked the bureaucrats in the way that the military or the mere commoners have.
