Working class Americans learn Spanish at school, and pick up more from their colleagues at the burger joint where they work in summer.

Upper class Americans learn French at school, and pick up more at their family's summer holidays in Europe.

So I guess it is all a matter of what you wish to project.

Spanish will land you a hot, loud and fun Latina who'll turn into a hardworking, caring mother for your children. French will land you a gorgeous trust fund blonde who studied art history and follows wine appreciation courses. It is all a matter of preference.

I dunno, dude, I think many Americans are adverse to learning a foriegn language unless the desire to do so was instilled at a very early age. College was too late for me. My brain isn't built for it. Or maybe its just my southern upbringing. Until the turn of the century I don't think most parents/children appreciated the fact that being bilingual would -- at the least -- help in job prospects.

So I copped out and learned a dead indian language because it was easy (the entire OU football team was in my class)

I wish they offered sign language then like they do now, I would have been all over that.

    Racist

I guess the only thing left for me to do is meet a latin woman

I now have a mandate from the frontroom
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
