    I beg to differ:

    In other words; Pizza.

I remember a game at TWC where I had a an unknown mafia partner and he subtly left a clue for me to read in the thread and I totally missed it and ended up killing him, so sometimes subtlety can count against you.

That is just using feta cheese instead of a good Italian cheese, mozzarella. So clearly you are infiltrating this place.

Actually, it's pretty clear that Robbiecon is infiltrating this place. He's looking for his "finest robe".

Not sure what kind of roleplaying that is, but it smells of seeking his buddy.

To "join" him. Yes, I am sure that's innocent stuff they will be joining together to do.

Men of Athens in this the darkest of all times we have but one thing to guide us in this task and that is who has shown themselves to be disloyal. In this way I say that the one known as Skooma is suspect he has traveled around the world and I fear he has picked up too many bad habits from the Persian's look at the head piece he wears and say to me is that not Persian.

    Important announcement

    Feedback wanted.
Currently three players are tied and I expect that is going to happen alot. This round, I will ask the random God to decide, but from next round on wards, I was thinking maybe we could do a revote on those tied players. Or any other suggestion is welcome

    Day 1 summery

The votes were read up in front of the people.

    2 votes
    Robbiecon
    Askthepizzaguy
    Diamondeye

    1 vote
    Captain Blackadder
    I-K
    Skooma Addict

So the three men with two votes were brought forward.
The ostricism committee guy Beefy stood up and questioned each of them.
"Robbiecon. Why does the people want you exiled?"
"Supposedly I was wearing a Persian cloth." he answered.
    "Is that true Robbiecon?"
"I must say to my fellow Athenians that, that is a total lie. I am born Athenian and will die Athenian!"

    Beefy faced the pizzaguy.
"Askthepizzaguy. Why does the people hate you?"
"It is completely foolish. Foreigners! Those foreigners doesn't know about plakous. It must be them! Am I not Athenian if I love my plakous? Well if you ask me, its not! I here by publicly announce my love for plakous. You can even call me asktheplakousguy! So as I was saying...."

Beefy had to stop the rant. He quickly spoke to Diamondeye.
    "Diamondeye. Why are you suspected?"
"I have no clue. Guys this is not very polite. This is democracy! If you have any problem then say it out loud... Like a Athenian!"

"Very well" said beefy. "It seems that all three of one denies to be the traitor. However it is our tradition to exile the one chosen by this pottery. We shall ask our goddess Athena to decide."

Beefy ordered the three to stand around him. He closed his eyes and started spinning around. He spinned and spinned until he felt dizzy and pointed.
    "Your going to be exiled!!"

Beefy failed to point any one... Well there was a young man called Thermal Mercury standing there. Gazing Beefy in disbelief.
Beefy coughed awkwardly and re pointed at Diamondeye.
"Diamondeye. People of Athens and Goddess Athena chose to exile you! Leave Athens immediately! You may not come back until we say so!"

So Diamondeye left the town. Chased out by the people who he once thought was friends.
    .................................................................................................... ...................................

Beefy was reading the votes again. He realized someone completely miscounted the votes.
    "What is this?"
"Ugh... Who cares. Whats done is done."
"We have a important role. We must not make any mistakes! Never do it again!"
    "Yes yes..."

Does this mean that Diamondeye got to 2 votes in the dumb tally system?

I don't really think so, but meh. Looked more like a voteswitch to me on first read, but it could be the dumbtally. Beefy said it would not be there on close lynches, so I'm guessing it didn't manipulate the three top votees.

Correct. I just played around with the bottom votes.

A spread vote by the Athenians means death in this game. Pick a target and crunch.
So you're suggesting that the desired result is a more unified Athenian vote?

I haven't played these kinds of games before but just wondering, is creating a "consensus" in thread about the voting, lets say:

DiY: "Alright folks, today we'll all pile our votes on person A"

    What you are suggesting?

I mean like currently the votes are spread as -most- people are voting for who they think is their top suspect, without announcing it, yet wouldn't an announced bandwagon target (possibly justified or something but the purpose of beefy's game was to reduce the ability to garner justification by a large margin right?) be easier for the spies to hide in, as long as they aren't the target.

    Clarification needed

In my opinion, the game under these rules is radically different from a traditional mafia game.

The reason is, we do not know who the leading candidate for the lynch is. And, the mafia aren't going to be voting for themselves.

If the vote is close, the odds are quite against the mafia being lynched. And, the mafia need to provide no justification for their votes. That's why no one found me suspect in the first round, yet I still got two votes.

If we do not remove the ability of the spies to manipulate the tally, via bandwagon (and this is one of the few times I would advocate such) then be prepared to lose this game, period. A divided town with no clue what the tally is, is not going to win the game. That's pretty much a fact.

Honestly, how are the mafia going to get lynched with 1 vote on them? Seriously.

Tally manipulation will be gone when we are down to 6 left.
That is not the spy ability. That is a game system to prevent towns winning easily.

So that means one of the other two must have been the spy, so we know who to vote for next round and if it is incorrect then go after the other one.

    Night 1 summery

I-K was walking in the dark alley, back home. He saw a man blocking his way.

"Kind sir, would you move out of the way please? I'm trying to go through here" he asked.
Man shook his head and said "Enemy at the hot gates. We must not let them in."

I-K being a historian, guessed that the man was talking about Thermopylae.

"Where is your enemy? This is Athens and I am a fellow Athenian." I-K answered.
"Indeed." said the man. "Indeed you are an Athenian. But you greedy Athenians are the very thing we are afraid of. Athenian will wreck the Greek culture if they're greed. They must be stopped."

I-K figured out that this was the Spartan spy everyone has been talking about. But couldn't do anything to dodge the knife.

    .................................................................................................... ..

With I-K found dead in a corner where crimes are uncommon meant someone was afraid of his presence and wanted him out of this world.
One stab at the heart was definitely a work of professional.

Citizens gathered up in the meeting square and started discussing again... Who could be the traitor.

Beefy probably forgot to add the name.

Hmm, I just thought about something.

@Beefy, since the spies don't know who each other are, and kill on alternate nights, is it possible for the Spartan Spy to kill the Persian or vice versa?

You have to admit, the writeup does imply that it was someone who was concerned with I-K, as well as someone who has a history of Mafia.

Further, that whole "I am not leaving a subtle clue here that I am the spy" post does remind me of some of the things you (used to) do when you were mafia.

    My kingdom for a .
