Oh yes. Spies could very certainly kill each other

I saw ATPG coming out of the bath house the other night. His chest was hairy. A little too hairy...

I love how all my suggestions are being ignored, and without any reason, I'm being accused.

Town will do really well this game.

Fine, if we're going to be unproductive, let me join in. I'm not voting this round, so you will be one vote short. How's that sound?

extending the round for another 12 hours.
Shortage of votes, and to better suit my schedule.

    Awesome.

I bet the only ones voting at this point are the spies.

I'm going to place my vote on Skooma, just for spite.

lol you do realize Robbiecon had 2 votes last phase right? Meaning that another good intentioned greek cast a vote on him along side yours. hintity-hint-hint

Besides, spitefulness is unbecoming of true Athenians such as ourselves. I propose we do something so silly it will just be ignored. I propose we use...the honor system! We come to a consensus on who to vote for by using an in-thread tally of some sort. Person with the most "nominations", receives our votes for Ostracism to our Lord and Master, Beefy. We count the tally after the lynch has occurred to see how many ppl actually followed through, accuse people of not respecting the consensus, vote for them, madness ensues, etc. Of coarse, this will fail mostly because no one will go along with it but hey, at least the idea is out there for you guys to improve upon.

    Day 2 summery

The pottery was counted. Beefy asked for the vote count and the counter announced the following.
    Robbiecon- 3 votes
    Skooma- 2 votes
    ATPG- 1 votes
    Yoyoma- 1 vote

So Robbiecon was the one to go.
Robbiecon smiled sadly and asked for a quick speech.
Beefy showed him the stage. Robbiecon bowed and stood up.

"Fellow Athenians. Well... I'm going to be exiled."
    Few laughed.
"I'll be gone to place far far away. But I just want you to know that my heart is always with this beautiful city. And the people who I was raised with."
    Few cried.
    "Good bye mother Athens! Farewell!"
    More cried.

Then Robbiecon walked passed other influential figures and said.
"My Athens is yours. Make her prosperous."

Robbiecon packed his belongings and left the city.

    .................................................................................................... ..........................

No one heard about Robbiecon for a long time. But few hundred years later, traveler flipping through the records of Persian library has found Robbiecons name amongst the spies. It seems that Robbiecon was working for the Persian palace.

Athens is definitely going to the right direction.

    .................................................................................................... ......................................

Behind the scene, Beefy was shouting again...
"I'll sack you!! I'll sack you!!"
    "I swear! I counted correctly!!"
"Well yes you did... But you didn't read correctly!!"
"Again Beefy... One more chance and I'll get it right."
    "Please.. I'm counting on you."

I was one of the two to cast my vote for robbiecon yesterday, but was dismayed by the votes on me today, so I voted for one of the people tossing suspicion on me for no reason.

Oh, you were hinting you voted for him too. Sorry, just got home, long day, unable to process information.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help last round, but I was wondering where my townies were at and what sort of strategy we were going to use.

I don't have another suspect, someone please nominate someone, I'll follow if I agree.

Sorry for the triple-post. I miss having my assistant mod powers.

Uhhh.... I'm not going to wait, I'd like to put some pressure on Chimpyang. One of the things scums typically do is congratulate when their buddies get destroyed. Such as classical_hero and his private conversation with me regarding the deaths of Renata and Beskar in the CoV game.

Also note the other scum's reactions whenever their own died. They seem to feel compelled to congratulate.

Sorry, Chimpyang. It's a gut decision, and I have no other reason, but no reason to vote for anyone else at this time.

I thought it as a RP post when I first saw it, but upon seeing it I'm wondering whether its possible that this was an attempt to find his partner. Its possible that keywords were given to the individual spies to try and find each other, and right here, I'm finding the choice of diction (underlined) very odd. A word such as "detected", "spotted" or even "saw"/"chanced upon" or something similar would have been typical, but instead Chimpyang uses the word "spied".

I'm not looking so much at the fact that Robbie was indeed a Persian spy, but rather Chimpyang's odd choice of diction, which could possibly be an attempt to fish for his partner (and indeed the following segment about Persian wares in the Agora) might just truly have been RP, and the real significance was only in the word "spied".

I could be wrong, but this in conjunction with what pizza said leads me to not discard it easily.

    Worth a shot.

Edit: If not clear, this was from the first round

I feel fellow Athenians that the one known as Θάνατος as well as ζητεί από την are correct Chimpyang seemed to be fishing for a contact with someone however it could also be that he was a great tracker and found out that Robbicon was persian.

Incorrect; it was day one. There was no time to track anyone. We had only just discovered there were spies in our midst.

I would like Chimpyang to explain his comments. I actually have not voted yet, so my vote is still up for grabs, but unless something changes, it will be on Chimp.

Forgive me I thought there had being time for a particular intelligent person to discover the spies without our midst. Since there was no time to do such a thing it is most suspicious.

Could be a lucky shot, I'd hate to penalize someone for being competent. It's just that he said the words "persian" and "spied" and he didn't mention the spartan spy. Why would he only be focusing on the one spy, instead of the other?

Only the Spartan spy would have a single-minded interest in the Persian spy.

Perhaps the Spartan spy admired the Persian's firm, tight buttocks.

Caught you red-handed! Errr.... red-faced! Red something! Spartan-y! Very Spartan-ish!

    Sparty?

    Spartastic?

    Let me try again....

So, you admit you've been training as a spy since you were a young greek, sir Chimpy. A confession! You might as well spill the rest of it. Don't make it worse for yourself. We know the Spartans train as young children to fight like men.

Somehow, this doesn't sound like a slip of the tongue/finger/wrist. It sounds quite eloquent, in fact.

I note that my single, red-faced "vote" for you made you a bit flustered. You felt the need to respond to my randomosity?

And such eloquence is capable from a Spartan spy? I had to pick 50-50 between the persian and spartan spy to label robbiecon for RP purposes, a Spartan being stylish and fashion conscious? Dionysus laughs upon that day! Tiberius of the Drake and Captain Blackadder also happened to label someone as a Persian spy, but where is the pressure on them, instead you're letting them hide within this bandwagon, based on your gut?

I see you deliberately misconstrue my response to put more pressure on me, you know perfectly well that it was a poor choice of wording. I could similarly lambast Yoyoma for posting a poem first, yourself for posting in 'Spartan' red, if I wanted to construct more spurious cases.

As to my response it's not scummier than the other people who also made a post with a decision in the first round. When I can and cannot get on here is not as freely as whenever I need to so thought I had better get a vote in regardless, since it would be random anyhow.

Also: a tell is far less subtle in this game it seems: with the power of hindsight, read robbiecon's post. Now that's a tell.

To be honest, I don't see where the tells are, nor would I expect to find any from him, seeing as he didn't know who his spy friend was in the first place.

However, I appreciate what you're saying here, and I am still mulling whether to place my vote elsewhere. Any suggestions?

This post here could be a coded response to the Persian spy, seeing as he keeps saying the word Persian.

If I were to read guilt into it....

But I feel this may be grasping at straws, really. It doesn't seem clear enough to be a code, but if it is, it is well disguised.

Captain Blackadder, Chimpyang, who did you vote for in the past two rounds, please?

As a matter of fact, I would ask everyone to reveal who they voted for in the past two rounds.

I voted for robbiecon (in spite of my red-faced Chimpyang.... I wished to surprise bandwagon Chimp's suspect so it would have the effect of possibly breaking ties. Also, how I feel about divided townie votes, I did something about it.) and then I voted for Skooma.

Something about this post feels funny. Smells funny too. To the paranoid mind, it reads more like a warning then a narrative of past events. Whatever the case, we need to actually reach a consensus or agreement this time around.
