Why do we need to get permission to join that part of the forum?

Because it's one of the seven circles of Hades and not for the faint of heart, old ladies and those of a nervous disposition.

    I'd leave well alone.

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

We do not speak of such areas.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Proud

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Simply, most members of the forum are here for the Totalwar games and don't particularly want to be exposed to the rough and tumble of the Backroom.

Those who are attracted there have but to ask. As a closed membership group, it also allows us to remove troublesome souls so at least they can contribute to the rest of the forum - as opposed to the banstick which removes their access across the board.

So I get the wack because I speak the truth in the Backroom but you always used to let Tribesmen post there with his baiting posts? I didn't know the forum has such a double standered, I must have missed the memo.... Oh, wait, No I didn't. I'll just go to TWC for my argument needs then, always was more fairer.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

To be plain and honest, there was a ton of hypocrisy in the Backroom when I used to hang around there.
It pains me to say this, but Warman is completely right.

I think what you're seeing as hypocrisy is actually people who have a history of intelligent, meaningful posts being given a little more leeway when they post something silly/controversial/naughty/whatever than people who rarely post anything insightful that adds to a thread. Just my opinion, I rarely post in the backroom myself as I don't like a lot of what I read.

I am honestly surprised that PJ's new thread about Jews didn't stir you up to go post again in there.

He put on airs like he did. Which is an important thing to do in the backroom.

Surely maths geeks would use the symbol for therefore. (∴) Perhaps your thinking of a Greek scholar.

I've got an analysis exam on Friday and that's what our lecturer uses.

Wow, the Mods must really be screwed up then. Apparently me not changing my opinion since April of 2009 was a good thing.

So Tribesmen baited people most of the time and oh yeah, forget the fact I had some good mods actually tell me in PM that Tribes baits a lot of people and just let it go but hey, whatever Husar, but if I make one or two bad posts I'm so stupid?

What type of people is this forum hiring as mods?

Thread closed. Some people apparently do not know what the Watchtower is for.
