Thread: A Country for Old Men [Concluded]

That'd probably be me. But I didn't vote for him. I just said I would like him lynched instead of you if DCmort would be lynched. But lynch away.

MRD, you still haven't answered my question about who exactly died and made you king. I've never seen you be so take charge in a game before and you apparently have about 5 people who have privately revealed to you. I'm a bit worried about this development.

    I'll reveal in the thread.

    I'm mafia.

    Too soon? :D

That joke just gets funnier every time you tell it.

Also, Diamondeye was the one who really started the classical bandwagon. Between that and him doing nothing but attempting to get Seon to post all game, I could think of worse lynches. It isn't ideal, though.

It's funny that you think its a joke.

    So who would you suggest?

EDIT: I am kidding for crissake. Don't lynch me over this again lol. :P

I would definitely suggest against lynching DE. If you want him gone really bad then night kill him but don't lynch him or else some bad stuff will go down from what I know

Boy I just love when people drop cryptic hints about what we should do without explaining anything.

It's not exactly my role to discuss so I'll let DE explain it to you either in thread or publicly but the main point is we lynch him and we give the mafia the game essentially

Newsflash, guy, I'm not giving orders. I'm making suggestions. I'm taking charge because I got information early in the game that turned out to be factual, and I am following up on it.

And until the likes of you does something useful for the rest of the town how about you stuff it. If your best response is to lynch me then you have serious priority issues.

I have only had 4 reveal to me. 2 are confirmed by alignment, the other two tells me stories that fits the picture very well. DCmort is confirmed townie, Warman is confirmed Townie, and the third guy is a busdriver. 2 of the aforementioned people have either roleblock or bodyguard abilites.

I am a little worried about potential cover roles.

Visorslash: actually, I think it was DE who started the CH shift

Dcmort told me he was neutral. I don't have any sort of powertown abilities or anything, so I guess I can't help with that. Sorry if trying to generate discussion offends you, I'll try to be quieter.

The problem with "waiting for someone to show up and explain it" is that it didn't work out so well last time.

I'm not necessarily gunning for DE, but I'm curious what could possibly happen that would be so bad.

DCMort told everyone he was nuetral after I made public a nuetral-confirming scan.

I'm not offended. But by being proactive I have made myself a target with night actions, and I do not fancy having to defend myself on day shift as well. The "busdriver" could be lying to cover his murders, but according to him he protected me last night so the bullet Johhog caught was meant for me.

edit** The reason I asked for the Doctor to contact me was so I could set him up with protection. While such a move might be a scum tactic to ID a potential target, a scum doing it so early in the game and in public would be quite frankly ludicrous.

I'm not saying you're necessarily scum, though both those arguments don't actually prove you're not. I'm just always wary of networks like this popping up, especially in a game where the mafia has a cover role. Honestly for the moment I'm more interested in hearing what Diamondeye has to say, though I'd ask that we not bandwagon him too hard, in case it really will put us at a disadvantage.

Just curious guys, is there any precedent for the mafia having a detective-type power? It seems awfully rude of the mafia to off the newcomer so early unless they knew he was the doctor, or at least had some power role.

The mafia didn't off the doctor on purpose, they tried to off me and they got busdriven. This could all me an elaborate lie by the alleged bus driver

There is a possibility that a scan ability enabled them to detect the Cop, and then offer him up for lynch in exchange for Warman, but I doubt that as well because the whole reason we saved Warman was because of his alleged ability to detect nuetrals.

I dislike early networks as well, but as it stands I was pulled into this one when I chose to make DCMorts scan public knowledge. It ssnow balled from.

That's a ballsy claim, DE. In liue of that, and since everyone else seems willing to let Dcmort run around for awhile, I'm going to Vote: Nightbringer, for the lazy vote on MRD and bailing on it after one person points you out.

I am currently awaiting clarification from the host regarding the mechanics of bus drivers. This clarification I hope will let me know if this persons claims of bus driving me were legitimate or not. There is a possibility, based on a previous post by JOHHOG, that scum called his doctor bluff and targeted him directly. As a bonus, they could frame me as well. I will explain after the host responds.

Just a heads up, please don't ask me about the specifics of the game as it would be unfair to reveal them to one of you. So I'll state publicly what I told MRD:

When a bus driver targets two players usually ALL night actions targetting these two will get swapped.

    Then we have a dilemma.

I was protected last night by someone with a bodyguard ability. This player tells me that he will die in the process of protecting.

Another player tells me he busdrove me. If I were attacked and protected, then that means that Johhug would have been attacked and protected, and my bodyguard would have died instead of Johhug. A further complication is that said bodyguard tells me a secondary objective for him is to protect a doctor or a cop.

Option 1: I was not protected by the bodyguard and the busdrive happened
Option 2: I was protected and did not get attacked, there was no bus drive and Johhug was targeted directly
Option 3: I was protected and the bodyguard was roleblocked, and the bus drive happened.

If anyone else an think of why a one-shot bodyguard would still be alive in a situation like this please advise

This was Johhugs response to my announcement that Warman had some sort of investigative ability.

At the time, it didn't make any sense, and it still doesn't. It does, however, reek of a bad bluff and could have gotten the attention of the mafia, who then targeted him directly. He may have also sent out PMs to people he thought he could trust.

I also just thought of an option 4: I was protected and the busdrive happened, but a second killer targeted Johhug and the results is what the host rolled in terms of actions overriding and taking priority, which resulted in the bodyguard never having to use his skill.

Vote: Tratorix, I think he is too much against the town network, he seems to be frustrated by it. Perhaps he's worried that everyone will have told their secrets to MRD, and then he'll be pointed out as the one who hasn't.

Also, if Warman has some investigative ability, we need him to vote badly. We can't afford to lose him to the WOG.

Also, I read over the write-up. There were 3 people playing cards when Johhog was shot. Perhaps these three people are meant to be Johhog (obviously), MRD, and perhaps the bus driver. In which case, from the write-up, there's no indication that the bus driver did anything. Or the killer merely targeted johhog directly.

Yeah I was thinking the 3 people present in a dark room could be a hint at mistaken identity or wrong target as a result of a bus drive, but usually a write up with a bus drive is a little more obvious and with a little more action. I'm inclined to OUT the alleged busdriver, but if he turns out to be innocent I will feel like a total douche.

I would really like to know who DCMort roleblocked last night.
