    Edit:

Seriously though, what I meant was that while we can make the arena beautiful, but eventually there might be a tradeoff between making it more arena like and practical, instead of just making it look nice. For instance I tore down the outer wall of my castle since it was pretty useless and endermen kept taking off blocks from it.

The cake is a lie. I haven't even seen a cookie yet.

TC: That's a shame. I hoped to find a use for all that redstone. Right now I don't see what else the arena can use it for.

I agree, I'd kind of like to have some impressive redstone wiring as well. That arena mod does look fun, but there's nothing to say that it has to be part of our first community project. It might even be better to just test it out in a smaller arena someplace, and I could build a test site at Funcowland later on to see how we like it. It would indeed be a shame to build a giant arena only to find out the mod doesn't work the way we want it to or that we just don't like it.

If you've got ideas about what we could build to show off some redstone skills, I'd love to hear them.

Complex electronic circuits? Adders and multipliers?

Or maybe just a telegraph system along the railway line.

I was thinking more along the lines of something incorporated into whatever we're going to build as part of the community project. Some kind of complex mechanical system controlling moving walls or floors or something. The kind of thing where someone hits some kind of switch and then watches something really cool happen.

Ditto. I'm also interested in a communication system but that's what the "T" key is for. :-)

I'm not too original but sure I can generate some ideas on how to incorporate it into the world. Maybe I'll play around with traps for that spawner I discovered.

Edit: Just did a search for retractable lighting: It takes about as much space as the room itself.

I still think this is an excellent mod. Microblocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfsPdhekTVA

Please be aware that the map is essentially infinite and that the more you explore the larger the map size and the longer it takes for me to generate it and upload it. Your most recent journey increased the map size by 1gb. Please only explore if you actually want to do something with the areas you find, or are looking for something specific. If you just want to take a walk and see some nice scenery, you can get the same entertainment value in single player without making the online map much larger.

We're out of cobblestone. That's kinda funny.

Once the control room/VIP lounge/skybox is laid out we can get a better idea of how we want to craft the rest; get a good idea of the scope and scale.

You mean install a gauntlet within the Arena?

Could make a switch as a "timer" so if you don't complete it within a certain amount of time, you get trapped and die!

I have quite a number of stacks at my place. I will drop them off when I take a look around.

Also Fluffly, try to explore around the explored area at least! Then we get better bearings on where we are, instead of what is occurring in Australia!

I was checking out the map again, to see if I could find my first ever "House".. I didn't find that, but I have noticed some things. A random npc town (north west) has spawned near Csargo's place, and South-East of the castle, some one has been making a weird construction.

Edit: I just found it my first ever building! It is South of Csargo's place.

The NPC village near Csargo's has been there since before you lot found the village at the far end due West, (where I got stuck).
I actually sheltered there when I made my way back. Made me come to the conclusion that a blockhead can sprint over 2000 blocks if one starts and dawn and keeps going till dusk

I cannot get a single animal to follow me...I simply can't. Holding wheat, feeding them wheat..nothing helps. They follow for a bit then seem to lose interest and keep roaming around the spot.

Plus I used up all my eggs and still I haven't got a single chicken.

All I have is one pig and a bunch of snowmen.

    Edit:
Finally managed to get another pig and a piglet, at the cost of six of my snowmen escaping. Still need chickens and cows though, and can't find either of those anywhere close to the noob hotel.
If anyone has a surplus of eggs/surefire way to hatch chickens, please help me out.

All you do is have wheat in your hand and walk backwards and they simply follow. It was hilarious when I was doing my farm and Pest had like 15 animals following her at once that I had to basically build a farm around her.

You're welcome to take a stack of eggs from me, that should be good enough to get you some chickens to breed from.

Also who's the player lounging to my castle's rear? I can't see his nick.
