Would the US send an athlete who supported the KKK and sent birthday wishes to men who bash women too?

I'm sick of the corporate sponsorship but I do like the higher ideals of the Olympics.

She might have appeared smoking hot but the Golden Dawn who she supports are quite happy to beat up immigrants.

I will be watching the road cycling, a bit of track cycling (though i can never understand the rules of it) and maybe a bit of the marathon. But yeah I'm sick of hearing about it.

They are the real thing, but I don't see how that matters for the sport she does

When you are in the Olympics there are several hurdles to pass before achieving

1) physically qualify
2) be chosen to represent your country (after all you compete as a member of your country not as an individual)
3) swear the Olympic oath

As such a country gets to chose its representatives and if they prefer a good communist, democrat or whatever else they can do so as it is their choice.

Years of sacrifice and training and she gets kicked for a tweet when there is no clear cut policy in place for tweets anway.

Meanwhile, we allow athletes from regimes that murder and oppress their own people. If you asked any of the Saudi male athletes about their opinion on women, their responses would get them kicked out. So it's all okay as long as we don't say it out loud, correct?

The lady behaved like an ass and her politics stink. She can deal with the fallout without being kicked out. Or maybe they were just scared she might win. It's all just so silly
