Disagree, in Homeworld 3D really opened up new possibilities because of these slow turning big ships vs fast moving small ones, you could really outmanoevre your opponent using the extra dimension. Loved using bombers vs these biggies, they burn up so fast and there is nothing they can do muha. Missiles Cruisers should burn in hell though, they were always my doom when using that strategy.

No easy mode for Dark Souls the pc-crowd should just grow a pair. You are supposed to die you idiots the game is ABOUT dying. Again again and again until you barely make it through. What's next, asking for a quiksave? Dark Souls is about you dreading every step you take, about knowing that you will soon be dead, it's about pure terror. Yes it's hard, no it doesn't explain anything, indeed you might not be able to beat it.

Calme-toi, Frag-meister, it is not the PC crowd that needs to grow a pair, it is the head honchos in the dev business that are scared that difficult games might annoy and repel the easily agitated kids that can't stand dying in games. Which is, btw, more applicable to the console market than the PC market.

More importantly I'm guessing it's because the PC version cannot be properly played with a mouse and keyboard and many PC owners like me don't even have gamepads.

Deep breath. Come down off the soapbox and join the rest of us here on the ground. No. PC gamers are not coming to steal kittens in the night and feed them to mutated puppies for our own amusement. I assure you.

Reading the article it seems that the developer is concerned about the lasting appeal of Dark Souls and worried that their game is more stressful than fun. If anything, you should be directing your scathing ire toward them, not the PC gaming market. I heard a lot of complaints about the PC port from my fellow gamers, but that it was "too hard" was not one of them. I always considered that was the entire point of the franchise.

Why would people complain about difficulty levels that they won't be using personally? So long as the difficulty level you want is there, what exactly is the problem?

The problem with that interview is the guys at ubisoft managed to say nothing throughout the entire thing.

Honestly, I'm not surprised, that's exactly what they need to do right now imo.

Ubisoft systematically destroyed any consumer goodwill with their DRM practices and constant smug statements despite the contrary reality around them. Every game they have released post DRM has been cracked. Every one. The honest truth is it barely even slowed the pirates down. Meanwhile, paying, legimitate customers were getting the short end of the stick and having to deal with really nasty issues that kept cropping up. These same issues, I might add, that pirates did not have to deal with. Amidst this frustration they continued to attempt PR spin about dropping piracy numbers and how their DRM was here to stay, further alienating an already upset customer base.

And then there was the outrageous "95% piracy rate" claim they made a few months ago. A figure so laughable that most news websites could barely report it with a straight face. Oh sure, Ubisoft might be seeing those rates in regions that either 1.) never saw a legitimate release or, 2.) have long standing issues with incredibly piracy rates (the likes of which makes the US and European piracy statistics look downright tame). In which case you can hardly be surprised and really shouldn't be giving statements to websites using huge, inflated figures from isolated regions when they don't reflect the truth of the matter. Really, you have to admire the lengths Ubisoft went to completely sabotage their public image in the minds of savvy and informed PC gamers.

The fact that they finally have managed to shut their mouths is something we should welcome.

It just wouldn't be Dark Souls with an easy difficulty.

Yeah, a gold rule for all of us, but especially those that live and die by the goodwill of their customers! Best way for them is to whistle and look the other way, and go "oh, see a , sweet!".

Yeah, I thought the interview was pretty funny. I have no idea how the online DRM decision was made at corporate, but I imagined in my head two people not wanting to publicly acknowledge that their boss was an mouth breathing idiot.

Obsidian have launched a Kickstarter to make an old-school isometric RPG. I've already backed it, and so should you!

    The doctors leave Bioware

    And thus ends an era.

    Zeschuk's quote is particularly interesting.
“This decision isn’t without significant pain and regret, but it’s also something I know I need to do, for myself and my family. I’ve reached an unexpected point in my life where I no longer have the passion that I once did for the company, for the games, and for the challenge of creation.”
The pessimist in me says that this again is because of EA.

Either way the pair started a company that's given us many good games and for that I am thankful.

Judging from the reviews Borderlands 2 is a huge succes, can't wait to play it. I adored the first and this one sounds better in every way.

It is awesome and I love it. It's much the same as the original, but with improvements and extra polishing almost everywhere. Above all though... the guns... the guns are incredible. So much more variety in effects, performance, and particularly appearance. I could never even imagine guns that look as awesome as the ones I have found in this game.

Think I'll get it tomorrow if payment is there, I usually wait for prices to drop but there seems to be an absolute wealth of content here that justifies a day one

I highly recommend it if you enjoyed the first game and want more of the same. I also only play it co-op, and I think it would be a lot less fun solo.

Buy it off GreenManGaming. It's $50 there for the Steam CD key.

Ouch..... I had high hopes for this http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...-evil-6-review

Resident Evil much like Metal Gear is supposed to be stupid but conciously so, if the developers aren't into the joke there's a problem

Oh to hell with reviews I liked what I saw, it's supposed to be cheesy and stupid it wouldn't be proper Resident Evil if it was in any way clever. Play Silent Hill if you want something more emo. Not that I don't like the Silent Hill series but it has no self-concious humor it takes itself so seriously. Gamespot gave it a 4.5, that is really harsh for a game that is packed with over 20 hours of campaign, slipping much harder than the Resident Evil series it seems.
