Default I'm back from the dead!

Hey guys, I don't suppose too many people remember me.

I used to hang out a lot on the MTW modding sections here and I helped out where I could (a very small community there! ).

I stopped dropping by here maybe 3 years ago now. I can't remember why I stopped, but I do know why I've come back. In my internet adventures, delving around other forums, there's often a "debate" or "philosophical" sub-forum etc. Now, whenever I browsed these forums, I couldn't help but think back and draw comparisons to the Org's Backroom. The discussions beyond the Org lacked the charm, wit, and subtle acerbic bite of the Backroom community. I couldn't help but decide to come back here if only to lurk in the off-topic sections once more.

I note now that the Backroom is no longer private and is freely accessible to unregistered visitors. I'm actually kind of disappointed in this because, truth be told, at least one school paper was pretty much word-for-word a copy of a Backroom discussion and, at the time, of course my lecturer was no member of this forum and could not possibly see the source of my plagiarising misconduct!

So yeah, I don't actually have much else to say. The MTW sections seem rather dead; my newest computer is incompatible with the sheer awesome of MTW and so I cannot even play or mod the thing anymore. I doubt I can really contribute to many discussions, but I'm okay with lurking.

So hello Org, thank you for the passing grade with that paper, and goodbye, as now I must sink back into lurking (and go eat breakfast).

    Cheers.
PS: am I even posting this in the right forum?

    Not sure exactly...

Almost made a post the other day. Recently lost my job so plenty of free time I guess.

Hi Raz. I too am back with a slightly different name. Blame the absence on too much work and too many other things going on.

Hey but maybe you can still venture with MTW. I had some challenges getting it to work but reading thru various threads got me going. One challenge may be the OS but there is good advice on how to overcome that. The other issue which cannot be overcome does have a workaround. That is the issue of STW and MTW not understanding too much memory. In essence you have to temporarily tell your system that it has less memory than it does (like no more than 2 gig I think). Again there are some threads out there on the process. Sorry but I dont have links handy.

    Good luck
