Default It Never Rains in Southern California

Seems I've Often Heard That Kind of Talk Before.

Hope people made out of the most recent fires alright. This is getting ridiculous how many fires keep popping up all the time to torch the landscape out there. Is there not any way to stop this from happening every 4 months?

On a related note, has anyone heard from Kukri-Sama? I believe he's in the area, and I haven't seen him around the .org lately. Hope he's alright.

Last I heard, it wasn't the fires that were keeping him away, but rather a fried motherboard. Well, let me be clear, I know he suffered a PC failure, but I don't know whether he is impacted by the fires or not.

And what about Divinus Arma? Is he out on the lines, firejumping and risking his neck for the porn industry of Simi Valley?

Just cause it's the wet season here, doesn't mean it is every where. I mean yes there is a disconnect when here in New Scotland it's going to snow/rain (or both at the same time like it was today) until January. And in California it's so dry that a falling rock making a spark causes 100's of millions worth of property to go up in flames.

California's population has exploded over the last 50 years. People are now building homes in habitat that is naturally susceptible to periodic wild fires. Now instead of just brush & trees going up in flames whole communities of homes are at risk. The increased human activity in these areas also is a factor, sometimes accidental sometimes intentional. I believe a teen has been picked up for questioning on suspicion of starting one of these recent fires.

From what I've understood it's also that the irrigation system cannot keep up with the current water consumption, leaving previously green areas pretty dry and ripe for a fire.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?
