May I suggest a different solution? The Hunk Thread could be moved to the Frontroom... as I understand it the Backroom is for more weighty, serious issues.

In addition, it is unfiar to homosexuals, women and gender-sensitive males because the Hunk thread is in the backroom, suggesting that semi-nude females are appropriate while semi-nude-dudes ae not.
Maybe you could spend your day looking at pictures of semi nude men to put in the frontroom (in your own thread) :p

On a serious note, it probably would be a good idea to move the thread to the Backroom where the opt-in option applies. IMO it has the potential to upset people with different cultural views (e.g. strictly religious individuals) as much as political discussion does.
