The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
You Americans are nuts to complain about -30 to -40 degrees.....try coming to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in the WinterFrost bite in two minutes and under, with the wind shield.....

I knew it, you are trying to get me to stay in California so you can set off your master plan of triggering a 9.5 earthquake that will break California completely off the mainland and drift in the Pacific Ocean until it crashes into Hawaii, not only destroying me but destroying California and Hawaii as well, establishing Pennsylvania as the new most beautiful region of the U.S. It's so simple!
Um...no. Honestly, I just want all the Californians to stay and be happy in California. And not leave that paradise. So don't pay attention to those party poopers or anyone else, including yourself, who brings up reasons to move to a different state.

So am I - and don't worry, after the whole drifting across the ocean bit I knew you were joking as well.
But seriously. Don't leave California.
