Well, that's to be decided during this council session. What can be expected with most certainty is that Alexandreia will be taken, and perhaps Memphis too. There are those who are pushing for Greece, and Edict 6.3 is going in that very direction. If it goes through one can expect that what will follow is a larger scale invasion, especially once Sarpedon shows up at the scene again. If not, it'll probably happen later.

That's pretty much all that's on the table right now. The Council is new and it's been rather quiet the last time. What I'm hoping for are some different opinions and propositions so that discussions can heat up once again. I also want to see a new Chancellor, but I guess I might as well ask for a Lamborghini too while I'm at it.

For the purpose of making it easier to manage this game and to make it easier for me to keep the Library up to date I plan to propose these CA's:

This will be added to the General Rules:

1.6 - Game Master: Ibn-Khaldun will serve as Game Master and is responsible for management of the game and enforcement of the Game Rules. Ibn-Khaldun can delegate any of his powers to another person whenever he chooses.

And this one will be added to Game Management part:

1.4 Game Management

At the start of each turn, the Chancellor will post an seasonal report on the events of the last turn, including a save game file for the new turn.
After the seasonal report is posted, players will have 24 hours to download the save, and make their personal moves.
Players can move their avatars, move any army (Royal or otherwise) their avatar commands and fight any battles against the AI that they are capable of fighting with their avatar’s army.
The Basileus may move any avatar or army that has not been moved in this way as he best sees fit, including moves that result in battles, except that he cannot move a player’s avatar, units on the Satrapies territory or units under player's control in any manner that player has expressly prohibited.
The Chancellor may extend the time limit beyond 24 hours at his discretion, but all players are encouraged to act as swiftly as possible to keep the game moving.
Players may not move avatars or armies into the territory of a neutral or allied faction without the permission of the Basileus.
Nor may they attack the settlements or armies of neutral or allied factions without a declaration of war from the Basileus, a Chancellor or an Edict.
In case player do not vote in 2 consecutive Council Session Ibn-Khaldun can kill that avatar off(including family members).

I will post them in Council thread soon. I just don't see why I should make Library entries when player haven't been around for sometime! Also, I said that I can kill not that I will kill them. If someone wants to return later then just PM me and I will leave his avatar alone.

And this one for Battle points part:

2.5 Battle Points

To get to the next rank(Rule 2.4) every Strategos must get certain amount of 'battle points'. How many 'battle points' 1 battle gives are shown below. If player haven't posted screenshot with the results of the battle he will receive 1 Bp less than shown below.
"Crushing Defeat" -3 points
"Clear Defeat" -2 point
"Average Defeat" -1 point
"Close Defeat" 0 point
"Close Victory" 1/2 point
"Average Victory" 1 point
"Clear Victory" 2 points
"Heroic Victory" 3 points

I will post them soon in Council thread. Just thought that I will let you see them and discuss over them a bit before I do since they are more OOC rule changes than IC ones.

EDIT: Also Mikithon have received Satrapei Medias ancillary. This will be removed as soon as I kill off some old avatars.

hey guys, i'm back from my EB sabbatical and i'm playing once again

has anyone figured out how to have a working version of 1.2 and a working version of 1.1 with the WotB mod on the same computer

don't really want to lose my 1.2 makedonia campaign

Yup, I've got that. If you have a clean copy of Rome Total War (or EB 1.1), you simply copy that folder twice and install EB 1.2 into one of them, and WotB in the other. The third you keep for other mods or modified versions of EB (like I have one for WotB, one for BtSH, one for single, one for MP + backup and one for the PBeM).

If you don't have a clean copy of RTW or EB 1.1, I'm afraid to do it you would have to reinstall it. You wouldn't lose your campaign (get it out of its folder*, like to the desktop or whatever to keep it), but it is a bit of a hassle. Me, I love installing/updating things, so I don't mind doing things like that, but from what I hear most people find it dull. I guess I'm just crazy that way.

Edit: Damn my damaged Swedish-English alternation! Every time I intend to write folder I write "map" because the Swedish word for it is "mapp"! It's driving me nuttier!

I'm not sure but I think RTW and Alex save games are not compatible.
But because I don't have Alexander then I can't be sure.

To answer the question as it was asked, you'd still be able to play WotB after installing Alexander. The question is if you can use the alex.exe to play games made in rtw.exe, and that I don't know.

By the way, no, I "only" have 5 EB installs (the MP is the same as the backup), but I also have two clean versions of RTW so I guess that makes up for it. (Don't ask me why I have two of those, though. )

@ Merlinus: Getting ready for this chancellor job, in your SOT where it says 2/4 enroute and 1/3 understrength all that. You mean 2 of 4 enroute and 1 of 3 understrength or actually fractionally understrength? Thanks.

The / means "of" so 2 of 4 etc., and not the percentage, but next time I load up the game I'll get exact troop numbers in the units for you. I'll update my SOT post often enough to let you know exactly what's going on, and if I feel a pressing need to have something retrained etc. I'll mention it in my turn report and my SOT post. And if you have any questions about my army's status you can always just ask me.

I have a few questions about the Stretegos. In the rules it says that it can command an army of 8 units or less. Does this mean that I can start recruiting this army? Or is it given to me like in BtSH?

It's like in BtSH. Actually BtSH is referring to the WotB Rules

No, you can't recruit any units at all at this point. You have to be Chancellor (and have permission from the Basileus), a satrap or a Chreopylax (sp?) to do that (and only in the case of Chancellor can you actually add it to the recruitment/building queue, otherwise you have to write it in your SOT).

The "can lead an 8 unit army" thing simply means that if you are appointed to lead an army, you can command up to 8 units, but no more than that. So, for example, you can't command my full Royal Army because it is more than 8 units strong.

TCV is right, except for 1 tiny point: you could lead his royal army anyway, if he'd allow it, it's the one exception mentioned in the rules

Yes, he could lead a Royal Army but not Satrapal Army because those can be larger than 8 units(if Satraps use their influence correctly )

Guys, the computer I use for playing EB on died today, so I won't be able to do anything in game. I don't know how long this problem will last, either. Just thought I'd let you know.

While I'm unable to move Sarpedon and my RA, Arrhenides (Celtic Punk) will hold command of it. For now it should stay in Alexandria, though.
