Default New Laptop III: The return

So, my geographically challenged laptop hunt continues. This time I will be home in Ireland for a good few weeks, and can finally get something delivered!

Please, Lemur and Co, I request your help one more time in my search for a new gaming laptop. From what I see on offer at Dell's 6gb of RAM is already available although incompatible with most other components.

I will mention again my requirements: I need something I can take traveling with me (no 19', 10kg monstrosities), that should be fairly hi tech (my budget is around 2k€), and I would like to keep it for 2-3 years without the need of upgrading past getting an additional stick of RAM or something of that sort.

I'm in your hands, ladies and gentlemen

This is the one I'm waiting for. I think it's available in the UK now, won't be here in the US until March. It's got the P9500 Core 2 Duo, ATI Mobilty HD4850 video, and 4GB RAM. Not the most uber laptop out there, but it's ATI and it's fairly inexpensive.

That one looks pretty impressive - unfortunately it sems like it isn't available in the UK either...

EDIT: This seems to be the one they have...

There's a guy from the UK on NotebookReview forums that got the GT725-087UK model, don't think AmazonUK has it yet, he got it from Micro Anvika. It's a slightly different model, but it's close to the -075US model. I think there were some errors in the specs listed on the MicroAnvika site, he goes into detail in the NotebookReview thread. He's got tons of benchmarks listed if you want some gaming info.

That one looks pretty cool. It kind of surprises me though that there is all this GPU horsepower with a 5400 rpm HD... Can't have everything I suppose....I'll look into shipping that to IReland.

Got mine Friday, it's pretty nice. My only beef so far is that is has Vista 32-bit, 64-bit would have been preferred. I was pleased by the fact that it has a partitioned HD instead of a single monster-sized C: drive, and there is no crapware except for a trial Norton.

    And it runs MTW.
