Hmm.... I never thought of that.
Still, it looks more like a bug. Until he confirms whether or not he repaired the port, I would like to point out that the trade route leading to Rotterdam is bright green

Probably a bug related to losing and regaining your capital then. Glad as GB I'll never have to worry about that.
Did you remember to repair your port?
Yeah I repaired the port the same turn I took Amsterdam back, then I even demolished it and built it again, so I fear it's a bug. Well that's just a shame![]()
The same happened to me when I lost my capital. I regained it next turn, but all of the trade routes had vanished - pretty sure it is a bug.
I managed to get around it by cancelling all my existing trade agreements and negotiating new ones with all of my partners, then the routes appeared again - not ideal but at least it allows you to continue the campaign.
Actually seems reasonable to have to set up your trade routes again after losing your city, the problem is more the fact the old trade agreements aren't cancelled automatically when you lose your capital. One question what happens when you lose your capital, do you get a temporary one or any sort of mission to retake your old one?
