Well, I had posted on the EB forum plus here, so you actually had plenty of time to chose an avatar... Now they're all taken I'm afraid

Though you can still be a Synedros.

By the way, I promised I'd let you be FH if you beat me with your Romaioi, which, as far as I remember, got their asses handed to them by my Makedones

Hey, I've read through the rules and understand them thouroughly but I am wondering about two things.

A. What do I actually need to install, all of the things said or just EB 1.2?

B. Are there any other characters free other than the diplomat or do I get a recruitable general?

A: Just EB 1.2 with the fixes. ... and force diplomacy, though that's not necessary unless you choose the diplomat.
B: Just the diplomat, AFAIK. You can still be a synedros, that is, you have no avatar in game, but you participate in sessions etc. under a name of your own choosing.

A. Just plain EB 1.2, fixes applied plus the Force Diplomacy Minimod

B. Well, for the time being he's the only available character. If you want to play, you can join as a Synedros (Councilor) for the time being. That is, until more characters become available.

I'm assuming a Synedros isn't represented in the game? If so then I will take Karpos, but I'm wondering what a diplomat can do game wise? I'm assuming it's mainly role playing, which is why I chose to join the PBM but if it so I won't mind.

That's right, a Synedros won't be represented in the game. He will, of course, be able to take part in any Synedrion Session declared by the Basileus, propose Legislations and vote in polls.

If you want Karpos, you role will be simple, though quite important; You are the absolute controller of all the diplomatic movements (and all other diplomats, for that matter) of the Basileion. You will conduct diplomacy under instructions of the Basileus (currently The Celtic Viking), and will enjoy the benefits of having your own income

With your mnai, you can make donations, give loans, or even fund certain expeditions that you believe will benefit either you, our the entire Basileion as a whole. Oh, and of course you will be able to take part in every Session as long as you are in Pella with your character. In case of your absense, you can talk through a representative.

Think about it, and answer me after you've made your final decision. If you do decide to take Karpos, I would be glad if you could post your character's details in the Character Descriptions thread of the TVS forum.
