I've gotten nothing but bad advice coming from those in jail.

I have a feeling those who are arrested ARE the stoolies.

Perhaps you honestly have no clue who could be a traitor, which is fine. But so far there's ample evidence that those in the "big house" are deliberately trying to impede our efforts.

So, White eyes posted a false reveal, I suspect you = everyone arrested is a cop? Well done. You've cracked the case.

    You should be lynched.

Not what I said... those arrested could have an alignment shift. The evidence does seem to support that as a possibility. It would explain all the unhelpful contributions.

"Evidence is a strong word. What you're saying is more like "hearsay" or "assumptions" or possibly even "stuff I'm pulling out of my ass". You've been a "confirmed innocent" all game. You've done nothing when voting but follow the bandwagon. Whenever anyone suspects you your reaction is quick and far too vehement in your defense. You are now purposing a harebrained scheme to undermine my credibility despite the fact that you know I've been protecting people from arrest for half the game. Out of all the people left, you seem the most guilty to me.

    It all sounds quite reasonable.

I give you an "A" for effort. But you're still wrong.

    vote: Atheotes

Upon reflection, it's been said he was an investigator... and it's been said he cleared a number of people. But I don't think so, especially if he was inactive.

    Tally:
    Atheotes- 2 (Beefy, ATPG)
    Beefy- 3 (navarro, AVSM, Sasaki)

edit: Atheotes wouldn't vote for himself I don't think, so...

Presumably it has to be one or the other. Which means we should be successful either way.

Voting will close in precisely 2 hours. It doesn't matter whether I'm actually on or not to formalize closure.

Well we clearly don't have the votes to get Atheotes.

So, if that's the judgment of all, let's make sure there's no last minute vote switching. I admit I could be wrong and I'd rather not be responsible for a bad lynch again.

    unvote, vote: Beefy

Because I am a traitor and this is the only way to make it look like I'm still on the side of the mafia; by lynching one of my own.

You know Beefy... I can never tell if you're mafia because you are so calm about your death no matter which side you're on. It seems like nothing ruffles your feathers.

Trend... Although I wouldn't advice people to do it.

If you vote for someone else and make a fair case against them, theres a good chance that there will be some vote changes. This case, I don't have much against Atheotes except the fact that he isn't investigated yet and I'm innocent which no one seems to believe.

So if I am to die, I'll do it me self.

    @ATPG

I just keep the "laugh at them for their horrible mistake" option until after game
And this case, I'm not getting lynched without a reason, so I'm happy with it

Not really. Navarro is the one who gave the killing vote.

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

    AVSM-

I don't trust Navarro or Sasaki fully. Who investigated them and under what circumstances were they found innocent? I am fully aware I'm making most of the players here my enemy, but unless I know for sure they are 100% cleared, I'm tempted to vote for one of them in the next round.

    Day 7

Things had come full circle for Geno Vetto (Beefy187). A week ago, he had been attacked by the police, but saved by some fellow soldiers in what touched off the whole Catalano Crisis of 2009. Now, he was sitting at the Don's table - it was circular, now, as there were only six of them to discuss matters - and being accused of being the Stoolie. His accusers believed that his execution would end things.

Geno, ever the cool customer, kept his emotions down, trying to logically put down the accusations. The main point seemed to be that, as a Stoolie, it would be easy to fake his own arrest and "get off on a technicality", all the while continuing to supply information to the enemy. It was far-fetched, yes, but then again you had to be paranoid in this business if you wanted to survive.

Was paranoia getting the best of Don Giampetro and his men? This was the question each of them was asking as they discussed the theory and ultimately decided to name Geno as a Stoolie. Geno, for his part, was aghast at the discussion and did try to deflect suspicion the other way, as a loyal soldier of the Catalano family would do facing extinction.

However, it was not good enough. After a while, Don Giampetro wordlessly motioned to his bodyguards, who picked Geno up and escorted him out of the room. In a matter of minutes, Geno Vetto would be sleeping with the fishes. The question was: Would the rest of the Family be joining him?

    Night 8

"He *is* vulnerable!" Frank Ianetta shouted into his cell phone. "I'm sure of it! You've taken down his Underboss and Consigliere, and I'm his only Capo left! If there's not a power vacuum right now, then there will never be one! Go to Anthony Giampetro's house and arrest him! You have the evidence, and he no longer has the power! What are you waiting for?!"

If Ianetta sounded overly anxious, that was because he had lived the paranoid life of a mafioso for many years now. Was he confident he would succeed? Of course. He had gone over it a thousand times. Take away the Don's upper-echelon protection and it becomes almost impossible to resist arrest. Successfully arrest the Don with such a power vacuum and the entire family crumbles. However, that wasn't the point. Murphy's Law applied doubly so to people "in the business". How many times had he been assigned a hit on a victim where they had had to call it off at the last second because something was wrong? This situation was now like the many others, only the stakes were far, far higher.

Ianetta was at his favorite sports bar rather than in the police's custody. After all, if something went wrong, those few hours where he couldn't be accounted for would be absolutely deadly to him. Plus, the relatively noisy atmosphere of the restaurant allowed him to make such phone calls without anybody snooping.

Meanwhile, Anthony Giampetro was making a phone call of his own, but this time from the privacy of his office. He sounded equally tense and combustible as Ianetta.

"This is why I promoted you!" he barked. "The police are still on all of our tails. Obviously, the matter has not been resolved yet, despite the best of our efforts. Democracy has failed. I am now dealing with this situation my own way. I order you to find Frank Ianetta and kill him!"

In his barbershop in South Philadelphia, Sal the Barber put the phone down in the back room and went back to the front of the store, where there was still a perturbed customer, haircut half-finished, wondering who on earth could be shouting at Sal through a phone this hour.

"Sorry, Mac," Sal said, taking some cash out of his pocket. "I've got other business to tend to today. Something urgent came up. Here's your refund. Come back tomorrow maybe and I'll finish it up for you." Sal quickly changed clothes - now wearing a trenchcoat, of course - and exited the store, failing to even lock up, leaving only the increasingly perturbed customer alone in the store.

"But... but I've got to do a big presentation today in front of my CEO and the entire board! I can't go in with a half-finished haircut!"

    ...

"He's not at home," came the voice on the phone.

"Dammit!" Purely by luck, Ianetta's curse was well-timed with the sporting event shown on TV where one of the Phillies had made an error. Looking around to make sure that everyone was appreciably into the game, Frank started speaking again. "Have you tried the safehouse?"

"We've staked that place out ever since we arrested Fillari," came the reply. "Giampetro's not there."

"All right... have you tried his office?" Ianetta said, starting to sweat. For better or for worse, he would feel much better once this day had ended. "You guys do know where that is, right? I mean, I assume you've had it bugged for years now... what? What do you mean you don't know??!?!" Spitting out a string of curses in Italian, Frank looked around, this time finding everyone in the bar staring at him.

"Oh, uh... I, uh, don't like this commercial," he stammered, and then went back to the phone, talking in a fierce whisper. "All right," he hissed, "It's the upstairs of one of the clubs in Center City. Very classy, built about seven, eight years ago. Yeah, that's the name. You know where it is? Great. Please let me know if you get him." Frank snapped his phone shut and wiped the sweat off his face. He decided to go to the bathroom for the fourth time since he'd been there.

    *ding dong*

A woman in her early forties opened the door. She found herself staring at a man with a trenchcoat, looking pleasantly at her. "Hi Sal," she said, "What can I do for ya?"

"Is Frankie around?" Sal the Barber replied. "He and I were supposed to go to Atlantic City for the day, kind of take our minds off of what's been happening."

She eyed him suspiciously. "Don't know nothing about that," she said. Did she know about her husband's true affiliation? No. Did she suspect something? Yes. Plus, she was well aware of the perils of being a mafioso and how quickly fate turned. Mrs. Ianetta definitely knew something was up, and Sal would have to tread carefully here to avoid losing Frank.

"Well," Sal said, smooth as anything, "He didn't think you'd like hearing it. It was pretty much going to be a night of drinking, gambling... and maybe even women."

Mrs. Ianetta's eyes narrowed. Her feelings of suspicion were quickly erased, being overwhelmed by new pangs of anger and jealousy. "Oh, really?" she said. "In that case, you can find him at his usual bar. Let him know to enjoy Atlantic City as much as he can though, because once he gets back he's going to be in the doghouse for a while!"

"Will do, Mrs. Ianetta," Sal said, tipping an imaginary cap and walking back to his car.

    ...

"Sal!" the Don shouted over the phone. "I can hear sirens in the distance! How close are you to getting him?!"

"If his wife told me the truth, he should be at his usual sports bar. Heading there now."

"Be quick about it, man! The fate of the Catalano Family rests in your hands!"

"Will you stop being so melodramatic? I can't crank up the gas on city streets when there's a traffic light on every block!"

"JUST GET TO THE BAR AND DO THE *#%! JOB!!!"

    ...

    "How close are you?"

"We're at the club now, getting out."

"Thank God. Let me know when you bring him in."

    ...

Over at the club, Anthony Giampetro (A Very Super Market) slammed down his phone. For the first time in several minutes, his own shouting and muttering did not drown out the events happening outside. The sirens were loud now, very loud indeed. He looked out the window... and cursed. There were dozens of cars bearing down on his location.

"Anthony Giampetro!" came the magnified voice. "I am Sergeant David McGee, Philadelphia Police Department! We have the building surrounded and men are coming up to arrest you! Do not attempt to resist!"

Crushed, Don Giampetro went back to his desk and opened a secret drawer, the drawer containing his personal revolver. Looking it over for a good long while, he contemplated using it, either against the officers or himself... and then put it back. There was a noise on his door now, a banging. Don Giampetro walked away from the desk, closer to the door, his hands up. The door came crashing down and Anthony Giampetro walked into the abyss of cops, ready for the next part of his life.

    ...

"Pick up, pick up..." Sal the Barber (navarro951) muttered into his cell phone. He was about to tell the Don that he was about to go into the bar and complete his mission, but the Don had gone silent at the other end.

"Maybe he's just using the bathroom," Sal, the Don's Hand said to himself, and walked through the front doors.

    ...

Frank Ianetta (atheotes) was so concentrated on speaking into his phone that he became completely oblivious of all of his surroundings. The Phillies game, the impression he was leaving on the bar's other patrons, it all ceased to matter. The only important thing in the world was that Don Anthony Giampetro had been arrested. Breathing even became secondary.

"Come on," he said to the phone, "pick up, pick up. You should be there by now. Pick up... pick up..." He failed to notice the shadow that had appeared over him as he continued to try to get a hold of the police.

The last emotion that Frank Ianetta knew before Sal the Barber ended his life was one of great anticipation. Sal left the scene quickly, not even bothering to take or destroy Frank's old phone, which was on the ground, sputtering.

"Frank!" came the voice at the other end. "We've got the Don! He's ours now! You can come to HQ, nothing's going to get you now! Hello? Frank? Hello?"

Good game everybody, and thanks for participating! This was pretty much an experimental game for me, as I wanted to see how this system worked and to see if it was usable for a larger game. Considering the result, I'm definitely happy about how it turned out.

Sans the part about a capo getting lynched the first day.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

    I was recruitable? :o

Then I can claim my suicide was to keep myself from being recruited ()

Very good game, I didn't suspect either of you, to be honest.
