This again, also happens vice-versus. There are many films and programmes done in languages such as French/Norwegian/Russian/Etc which simply aren't translated into English, because the people who create it, don't want to pay people to recast the voices and all the effort it might involve to do it, hence, only do a subs.

About Languages:

This is a different issue, but a big problem is, there are simply too many languages to learn. Also with English being the most spoken language and its status of being the international Lingua Franca, majority of people from other nations speak and read/write English thus in England/America/Anglosphere, there isn't a priority in learning other languages as others simply speak English.

Are Scandinavians superior to everyone else?

Obviously the answer is no. Everyone is equal.
