As I watched the highlights, which was all Chargers through the first three quarter, I kept thinking "And the Chargers lost?" However, the result is to be expected when you blow all those scoring attempts.
Ya know, I forgot about that game probably because I stopped watching it after the Cards took that big lead early. I do the same thing during the Super Bowls. I get bored with all the commercials and/or the game is so one sided I end up doing something else. A lot of times I miss those great comebacks. Being a free agent fan I guess that's to be expected.

That was actually a pretty good game, the way the Packers rallied, and I felt it was kinda sad, the way they lost.

In any case, I liked watching the Vikings steamroll the Cowboys. That is one good team, though I feel it could've been a lot more exciting. In any case, Vikes vs. Saints next week should be great!

Finally, some stats to back me up. Where's the action?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Take that 3 seconds of cheerleader time and switch it with the 67 minutes of players standing around time and maybe I wouldn't get so bored.

Well, compare that to baseball or golf, it's similar. The actual time the ball is in play is short, but more more significant than in nascar or soccer. Well, not in baseball I guess

Basketball probably has the action/signifance per minute. Tennis would, but there are lots of commercials in tennis too.

But the time between plays in football is usually spent on replays, talking about the game, watching the play be set up.

More cheerleader time would be nice though

It does make one question why you should waste 3+ hours sitting around watching 11 minutes of playing.

Heck, they don't need highlights, they need some show that just shows the actual plays, with all the time in between cut out. You could fit two full games in a half hour with commercials, or three in a full hour with plenty of replays.

And they should definitely have more cheerleader time.

    Well you're wrong.

Anytime you kick a feild goal the offense failed to its job. A feild goal is like a constilation prize for moving the ball somewhat well.

How about the jets D bending but not breaking?

There were plenty of points in that game (the unsportsmanlike call being the one I remember the most) that the chargers shot themselves in the foor.

As for Brookings comments: they dissapoint me. I once had 63 points dropped on me when I played Jv and they were chucking bombs until the clock hit 0.

Agreed. Especially in the NFL, the pendulum swings both ways. Nobody complains when you're the team that's putting the whooping on your opponent.

They should have had to punt of go for it, I don't mind that they lost. The consolation prize can be pinning the other team inside the 10.

Wow, the vikings just imploded. 6 fumbles, 2 interceptions? Penalty while in field goal range with 15 seconds left? Favre throws interception instead of running for 6 yards?

You were close on that(if you multiply the two scores together=868 ) Now we get to see if Favre actually retires.

I feel sorry for Farve. So close to another Super Bowl, and he throws it away.

Not very impressed with the Saint's highly touted offense, which didn't do much the second half. With that many turnovers there shouldn't be an overtime.

Minnesota outgained NO by over 200 yards, and had +10 minutes on the time of possession. Only the 5 turnovers saved the Saints. Congrats and all to the Saints fans, but the Colts are going to chew them up if they don't play better D.

Not in football, you are thinking NHL hockey. Generally no one touches the Campbell (West) or Prince of Wales (East) trophies after the conference finals are done.

I raged so hard at that game... if it wasn't the fumbles or Favre's retarded pass during the Vikes's last drive before OT, it was the ref's calls during OT (that 15 yd penalty for pass obstruction was very debatable, and IMO so was that call where the pass that set the Saints up for a field goal was complete). Minnesota should be in the Super Bowl

It does seem strange, but maybe football players aren't as superstitious as hockey players. Then again, after the Pens touched the Wales trophy last year and then won Lord Stanley, maybe they won't care either.

Tie-breaker is event driven (usually MNF total score). Weeks without MNF use the total score for the final game of the week - the Superbowl, this week. But I take your point about Pool Standings; depending on who picked what team, any one of the top three pickers for this year could be tied with 2 others.

Also at stake are poll bragging rights. Depending on who wins, either johnhughthom/slashandburn or Yaseikhaan will be able to say that they picked the winner from the very start of the season.
