I am always in EBOT_2 and EBOT_5 (both pass EB, if I remember correctly). I am also in EB Online, pass also EB (IIRC). That's actuallly a network I made recently after getting a LogMeIn account. I still think there is a 16 user limit but as I leave Hamachi running I can simply remove inactive/offline users from the network to free up slots. Enjoy and see you on the field soon.

I have tried Wippien but to this day I recommend Hamachi until the International (read: English) version of Tunngle is released. Then we can have up to 255 people at ANY moment in time playing simultaneously.

I've installed Hamachi and connected to EBOT_2. If anyone wants a game I'll hang around for a while, but be warned I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to technical stuff.

PS: Is the advice about copying various files and stuff in the OP still valid, or can I just use the Multiplayer.exe thingy?

Copying files?! To play EB Online all you need to do is have a clean install of EB 1.2 (fixes optional but recommended), and use the Trivial Script option that reads "Play Multiplayer" (or similar). Enter lan lobby and you'll see other Hamachi users in there.

Thanks, I think I can probably manage that. Anyone playing any games tonight?

Same here. Although i see many players online every time i start Hamachi, no one is active except two-three guys (Knight and ACS are the only ones who play when online, others are sleeping)...
Kk, i'll join EB online, 4vs4 would be something!

Can someone fill me in on the Hamachi etiquette when it comes to groups. A few of the ones listed seem to be always full. Does this mean once I get into one I should just try to hang on in there until people turn up?

Also is there a list of groups?

    Thanks

I remember somebody (VT Marvin??) had in his/her sig a link to the list of groups (but that list is not up to date). As of today, there are MANY, MANY networks. More than is reasonably necessary. The reason there ARE so many is because people do not leave the networks when not using them. Because non-commercial ('free') Hamachi limits networks to 16 users, you will find it a common sight, networks full to the rim with offline users. So how can one fill another in on a nonexistent etiquette?

I tried joining EB00 and EB01 and both networks are full. Will there be an EB03 or can the networks expand?

Is EB multiplayer already dead? I stopped to come online because there were hardly any players on some weeks/months ago. Would be nice to know since i don't have it installed.

It would be nice if those on the EB networks who are no longer interested in playing on it would take themselves off to make room for someone like me.

In the meantime don't be afraid to join my Xfire group.

Don't be disappointed. You can still play with people online. The networks I am connected to are fine. It's just that the admin of those networks needs to kick offline users out. People need to log in and log off networks each time manually, unfortunately, but necessarily, for a better and fairer opportunity. Many people are on but I tried contacting and nobody responded.

Why not? There are networks from EBOT_0 to EBOT_X where X is some number upwards of 6 or 8 (not sure). Try them all. I also run managed network 'EB Online' that can only be connected to by entering 031-664-896 for the network name (password either EB or eb, can't recall). I'll pray that you make at least one exhibition match, haha.

I've just started playing my friend online with EB but using the games Online function which goes via Gamespy I believe..

However with EB we always get it going out of sync and connection issues..

Would using Hamachi work for us and make it more reliable?

    Thanks

    Edit:
I got Hamachi on and joined EBOT_3. Turned off my network adapter leaving the Hamachi one still connected. Did what the instructions said, went to LAN then turned back on my main adapter then back onto LAN and all I get is me in the room..
Do people have to actually be on EB for them to show in the LAN aswell as HAmachi?

Hope i've got it working right...

Once you identified someone on, in the same network (green light beside their name), you chat with them ask them if they want a game. If they say yes open up eb and meet them in the lan lobby.

    Ahah,
So is it much more reliable than using gamespy?
I never had desyncs on vanilla but lots of connection issues. Desync is even worse though... I want it gone!

Can't wait to try it out the Hamachi LAN way

    Thanks for your help

Do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING possible to get rid of desync, especially if you plan on playing tourney. July 2009 we had desync issue that I think ended up having the game just not count, cause the 2v2 resulted in FOUR DIFFERENT REPLAYS. I made a vid showing how ridiculous it was, my replay being completely different, units disappearing...etc.

Do you have any idea what causes it?
I'm on 10meg and my up speed is 512k
I'd have thought that would be suitable!

Is anyone around so I can test this? Not to play but just to see if I can get in the LAN lobby with others..

    Edit:
I'm guessing by disabling your main connection RTW then uses the hamachi as LAN? Is that how it works?

Another update, my friend and I can't seem to get this working..doh

You need to move Hamachi to the highest position in the priority list of network adapters accessed from software.
I do the same for Wippien in this video. Yours will say Hamachi instead. If that doesn't work, let us know.

P.S. Do NOT disable any networks...DON'T! If you have, enable all and restart comp. Don't disable. It ruins things for you (it ruins for me too!).

    Ah,
I was following the instructions on the first page.
So with Hamachi at the top of the list, it should work just like that. Without disabling then reenabling any other connections?
