Indeed. All those evil bacteria resides at the back of your throat. It's why when you're sick, and all that rich phlegm appears below your uvula, your breath begins to fell others at a distance, and not otherwise.
Likewise, garlic breath originates from your stomach, while your digestive juices break down the vegetable. It could be compared to a silent belch, I suppose.

Rarely floss, except the week before the dentist appointment. I do have the disgusting, but useful, habit of picking at my teeth with something metal, which does a pretty good job of cleaning away remnants and preventing buildup.

flossing makes your breath so much better which (im not going to deny it ap, lol) i always floss before dayes, and yes the initial blood is a downer but going to get your teeth cleaned and having them painfully scprae away with no regard for you rcomfort is far worse. i hat dental hygenists.
I floss every evening, have done this for the past three years. The only times I don't floss are when I am doing army field training (can not get my fingers clean enough) or when I am out of floss and it takes a day or so to remember to buy more.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

I have been obsessive about brushing my teeth my entire life. My parents spent a lot of money to striaghten my teeth when I was youg (a lot as in they got fixed then went crooked again... 3 sets of braces, 4 surgeries and 2 retainers) so clean teeth were instilled in me.
Never a cavity.
But also never flossed and never had a teeth cleaning.
Went for a routine check up for my deployment. Doctor told me I had lovely teeth, but the backs of my teeth were the wost he had ever seen, and said it was because I didn't floss. The cleaning took over 90 minutes and was quite violent. I cried. Doc said I also had mild gum disease due to the built up crap on back of teeth making my gums recede.
I floss now.

Baby Quit Your Cryin' Put Your Clown Britches On!!!
It's actually quite strange feeling now, I can actually feel my different individual teeth with my tounge in the back, whereas before it as just a smooth surface all the way down the gum line. Once all that plaque was removed, I can feel each individual tooth and what used to feel like a solid tooth is actually partially exposed roots (that were filled in with plaque) because the gums retreat from plaque.
And yes, the cleaning was so violent that the dental assistant had to hold my head down. Not because I was fighting, but because the dentist was having to scrape so hard to break the crap off. there was actually one tooth he didn't finish because he said it was so bad I would need a numbing to get it clean, and he felt he had truamatized me enough for that visit. I expect to get that tooth celaned at camp aderbury sometime next week.
