IIRC there were some plans to do a EB I late campaing map, but got dropped. It would be nice if it would be revived by some of us ordinary non-EB players... It shouldn't be that difficult should it? I've been thinking about this for a long time....

I may even do a new thread in the EB forum...

It might even be neat to do a compromise: a mini-mod set from 0-200 AD where you either try to hold the Roman Empire together and fight off rebel claimants, internal and economic factors and keep your Empire growing, or as one of the other states of the Era, trying to expand in an era of Roamn dominance.

Actually, they got as far as an alpha release for EB1 v0.7. Search the unofficial mod forum for the "late project". It was never part of the EB mod, though, despite being done by team members.

Well, I think an AD campaign is undoubtedly out the question, main reason you'd have a very different faction list, which means all new units and area of recruitments. Not to mention a new script. That would be quite a lot of work.

There are no plans to to make a late campaign that I am aware of.

Doing so would be essentially making a new mod and it's going to take long enough to finish EBII.

Hmm, a late campaign (starting around 133bc) would be interesting. You could include the Cimbri and their Migration, the small Seleucid empire and Antiochos VII attemp to reconquer Mesopotamia and Persia from the Parthians, a Jewish faction and the Yuezhi. And you are nearer to famous characters like Caesar, Pompej and the Roman Civil Wars (including the Italian uprising around 90bc) as well as others like Vercingetorix, Mithridates of Pontos, Tigranes of Armenia or Burebista, the Dacian King.
The downside would be a too strong Roman Empire dominating the (western parts of the) campaign map. On the other side you can implent shadow factions to feature the italian revolt or splitting the Roman Empire in two parts like Octavian and Marcus Antonius did.

Anyone with ideas and who wants to help with this should go to the minimod section of EB Forum and join the guys there.

IMHO thats not a problem. I mean in EB you also gat a very dominant AS. And rome was very often at the edge of a total defeat, so also historically, it wasnt a cakewalk for them.
