Default Are you a real man?

I am just curious to see how many real men we have on the Org.

You are just jealous because you want a beard. It is just like Freud said, only he mistook beard for *youknowwhat*.

I can grow a thin scraggly one under my chin. For this reason I opt to shave it off. Still think I look cool though.

Don't worry, you will get there one day. Seriously, few things annoy me more than people going around with tiny little straggles of hair sticking out of their face in random places. :P If you cannot cut it, then cut it off! (a little pun there for your ) :P

A very nice pun at that. I have attempted to grow it in the past, but usually shave it off in disgust relatively quickly!

Yeah, when I was younger I tried a mustache a few times, but that did not turn out well. :P I wasn't able to grow a full beard until I was 18. :P My dad had a pretty big one, all grown in when he was only 16. :P I come from a hairy family. P

choice # 1: I do have a beard (which I regularly shave off, so as to grow more of it-for some odd reason, shaving it off cause more of it to grow. must be my age )

I don't have a beard now, but in the winter I often grow one, to shield my face from blustering winds as I ride my motorcycle across the mountain passes. It helps while skiing too.

And if I do say so myself, it can be quite impressive.

I could grow one easy enough, I almost have a permament facial hair shadow due to my facial hair growing thing. I have only grown it to around a 1 cm length (which is a few days - week) otherwise the hair irriates the skin.

I see we have some jealous hairless youths among us.

Me, not only do i have a beard, but I am capable of growing the most intimidating beard of anyone I know. Of course, I usually keep it fairly close-cropped and neat, but it still cows other men with its presence and hypnotized ladies with the might of its sexual vibrations.

don't be a *****-men should always have good looking beards/facial hair, when possible under cultural and physical limitations.

I can grow (and usually sport) a respectable mustache & goatee, but that's about it. For whatever reason, my whiskers flatly refuse to exceed a half-inch, so a full beard is out of the question for me.

I can grow a beard thanks to the slav in me I choose not to.

To rest my case, can you grow a beard in the military? No, and only real men join the military. Beards are for hippies, communists, and catamites.*

    * why catamite you ask? Well when you throw down a statement like that you gotta throw words like that around.

As well a list of greats with no facial hair.

    Hitler

    Lenin
    Rasputin
    Not john wayne

you do realize I'm joking round here..course I know all that; even though I can grow a beard, I still shave it anyways. I personally don't really care, but I do like jabbing people nonetheless. (I suspect you're referring to my post and that of others who expressed similar attitudes-jest or not)

besides, Assyrians were manly, and so was Philip II , and they grew beards

    Alexander the Great had sideburns.

I suppose now there'll be a debate on whether or not they count as facial hair?

I believe special operations and navy seals guys can grow beards.

Also, is it a coincidence that America's military had many of its greatest generals when beards were in fashion? Sherman, Ulysses, Lee?

Bah I say to your assertion, a thousand times bah!

You say some women prefer it. Do you also hold their purses when you go shopping with them?

I was there during a New Years. The air was so cold, it felt like walking around in a needle-stack of invisible needles.

It was a very odd sensation.
