You do know what they say about Bodybuilders.... about they trying to compensate a thing....
I can tell you (as many girls also) that it's not true by experiance... I know steroids have side effect... but I can't tell exactly, as I build without them...

LOL Try roids and you'll feel sorry. I rather live without regrets than to cause them in first place.

Seconded! i never said i wanted to try! they have some good side, but only one mistake and you live to regret it... so i stick to hard training daily, wich is i think what most people should do, but that's only a personal oppinion on physical culturism...

Romani, it has so far proven impossible for me to cheat a man into the Marian Reforms, and the default provinces is pointless because you have won the game already by the time you get them. The Aedui, Casse, Arverni, and KH are all much better, and Medieval Total War II is a lot more stable.

Bump!
Man, I wish I could come up with a good demotivator just to keep this thread going. BTW, were mine any good? Because I didn't see any definitive like or dislike of them....
well... errr, we all disliked them but... didn't really knew how to say it... thanks buddy, you made the job easier... JOKING!!! they were all good, just like majority of those posted on that thread! now, since two days I know how to make screenshots, so I'll come with one as soon as a find a good one!

Or better yet, TABs! But I was at first just looking at super-late reform units (i.e. Augustans), and seeing if good old tradition could beat them.

Just loading my ol' pontos campaign, and surprised how AS attack my peaceful halfstack suddently out of nowhere, when I was busy besieging their city...
And I was forced to resort with THIS!!!

I think Cute Wolf's actions are completely justified in a Pontos campaign. Early on in a Pontos campaign one screw up in a battle like that can pretty much cost you the entire campaign, because you have no money to recruit new units.
Plus, William Wallace wouldn't be very happy if you called him a noob...

At least I was win that battle with rather silly but "Heroic" victory.... :laugh4: if I was lose, all was left were practically assortment of Pandas and Gwneth Paltrows that I left to garrison my cities...

Then could you give some advice, how a force consists of not in full size 6 Pantodapoi Phalangitai, 1 Archers, and 2 Gwyneth Paltrows Gundi Palta, as well as one 17 year FM with no star at all, capable to hold a force which consists of Tons of Galatia, mercenaries, and high end crack units??
I remember the seleukid force who attack me consists of 1 Lavotuxri, 2 Kuraothoroi, 3 or 4 Thureophoroi, 4 Klerouchikoi Phalangitai, 2 Hippeis Thessalikoi, and the rest is panda.... and another army is led by 3 star FM, commanding pandas, Thorakitai and Argyraspidai

No offense intended - I just had to laugh to see YOU using a noob-box and to do that against AI. So I apologize if my comment was unwelcome.
But the demotivator itself was not that bad, was it?
I have played several Pontos campaigns (actually it is the faction I start with when a new version of EB comes out since 0.81) so I know all too well that there a situations when a loss is painful indeed and nigh-unaffardable. :skull:
My advice in such a situation would be to cause the enemy as much pain as you could only to be finally overwhelmed and met with glorious death.
Afterall, such situations when AI actually manages to defeat you are so extremely rare, that is actually a somewhat pleasant surprise, is it not? :lam:
Cute Wolf
03-22-2010, 20:19
Yeah I know :clown:
By the way, this time, the AI had managed to outmanouver me, but if I was either retreat, or defeated.... then all will be done... :wall: Too bad I spent all those money I got from Plundering Ankyra and Pergamon on those markets....
And when they decide to attack with rather really strong forces, I rely on Schiltron tactic, with my FM occasionally charge them on the back when they enggage my "noob benzene ring".... (if I left them to go :daisy: themself, without providing back-chargin suppport, my box will eventually collapsed because the sheer numbers of Thorakitai involved... so that wasn't precisely a noob box...)
LOL, chemical humour in EB. :laugh4:
For some reason one finds that many EB players happen to be in the chemical field. I know I am not anymore. I'm leaving the field. I think there are more chemists than historians playing the game. It's time to change that!
my box will eventually collapsed because the sheer numbers of Thorakitai involved
Your benzene ring needs some functional groups attached to it to make it more reactive. Or just don't use a benzene ring at all. I hate aromatics!

Yeah, I know, I am one of them. I created an EB chemists group https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/group.php?groupid=134, I don't know who exactly are chemists, so feel free to join. More discussion about it inside the group.

Yes of course, you may learn from the master tactician!~D
In short: keep them away from missiles, get the enemy engaged at your line, run them around and then attack the rear, they first throw javelins in the back, then attack and scare the hell out of whatever guy stands there, YOU WIN.
For a more detailed explanation, look at Macilrille's tactical thread, or talk by VM.

Haha yeah his father had a lot of horrible traits and his mother was sick and unintelligent so his parents are partially to blame. And I had like 1000000 mnai in that campaign, and it was quite late into the campaign, (169 BC I think) but still it doesn't really add up, guess I was unlucky.

read the demotivator, and look at the picture-you'll see its not about my army (which was suffering from severe moral penelties due to starvation and a new commander). its about the Carthaginian elite stack.
(srsly, is it really this hard to get the joke behind the poster? its about an massive elite stack, well led, and in good morale getting totally crushed by a smaller army that was suffering severe morale penalties and an inexperienced commander (the bridge is one sector of the battlefield).)

If one has to explain the joke, it becomes less and less funny. If you don't get it on the second try, it might be a good idea not to ask any further, because that might look like you're doing it on purpose.
I've seen situations in real life where people feigned not to understand a joke because they wanted to offend the one telling it and cement his low position in the social hierarchy. So...

You can show your support to one of the factions in EB by using some of these signatures (https://www.europabarbarorum.com/downloads_artwork.html) or by getting one of them from the EBII previews.
Those signatures with "Romaioktonon" on it, are from a somewhat different social group.

nah, no offense, I'm just can't understand what was funny in that...
*resists the urge to taunt wolf for his english* It wasn't really even supposed to be that very funny, the whole point of it was basically that:
The SPQR is the most popular faction in EB, and some (very few) people play only that faction and also slavishly following the "Historical Roman conquest" guide, even though there are endless possibilities. Those people thus lack imagination and I found it at least somewhat amusing. A bit of a long shot maybe.

It's not a ring. The molecule itself is a ring, the inside marker is just a drawing of three double bonds which are sometimes drawn as a circle. In actuality there are three 1.5 bonds, the electron probability is spread evenly.

Indeed but I hate that word. Resonance is so misleading. The electrons don't friggin' "resonate". They never do. It's just the same electricity but spread out over a larger area. It's like if you had butter in between two slices of bread. They cover an area of A. If you separate the two slices you have the same amount of butter but spread over an area of 2A. Less concentrated.

Marathon shouldn't be Spartan Hoplites though. They should just be regular Athenian Classical Hoplites.

In fact, they should be an assortment of many hoplite from different city states... Sparta was one of the few who didn't participate, but in principal, the army at marathon was a coalition.

Lol, i had the same today too! I sent 1 man (Thraikian Mercenary Light Cavalry) to attack an Epeirote fullstack. With the added captain I totalled 2 men, the Epeirotes killed 6.~D

Don't remember exactly but I think I destroyed all other units and since this one had the captain in it then it took defencive stand. So, I just moved the units in place. They never attacked any of my units and once I lowered the pikes they were quickly killed.
now that's what I call "flanked"
