Hello everyone and greetings. I am glad to be a new member here but I kind of see a problem. :sweatdrop:

While I am a TW player, the primary reason I joined was to take part in the Sengoku Jidai interactive history in the Chapter House. I love history but my main passion is the Sengoku period of Japan. I'm looking forward to playing the Ran no Jidai mod when it is released and plan on downloading the Battles of Asia mod after this post.

So help a junior member out. Maybe some people can tell me where to start taking place in discussions so I can become a full member and take part in the interactive history game?

Does anyone here play the Nobunaga's Ambition games? It's a strategy game like TW except the current one in English is an old SNES one and is turn-based. However Koei is releasing Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power for the PS2 on Tuesday. It's supposed to have real-time battles. If you've played the RTK series by Koei in the past, you might want to consider checking it out.

I believe RTW stays one of the best STR games.
I have been playing on it until European Total War will be done.

So i've worked on a new version of CAS Importer/Exporter (originally from Vercingetorix) for 3 months.
The script file is ready now (but only works with 3ds max 9.0)

I didn't change the core, i just added some usefull tools like colors, scale, recent files, and possibility to open multiple files.

New features:

- We can now import multiple files (units and item files).
So if we want to apply an animation on an unit, we just have to select one mesh or bone of the target unit.
Also, if we want to export an unit or item, we can select one mesh or bone of the target unit.
for instance, we can import a cavalry and a horse, and add on them respective animations.

- we can set the units (and items) scale in the options rollout.

- Colors for unit meshes, unit bones and item meshes can be choosen.

- Default paths for units, items, animations and textures are managed in the About/options rollout.

- 6 recent files are stored, so we can select one and the file will be immediatly imported.

- In the About/Options rollout we can choose between texture automatically loaded, or no texture, or texture choosen.
In case of "load texture" (wich means the texture will be loaded from a default path),
the texture path used is the texture path stored in the About/options rollout.

- All changes in the options are stored in the script file for the next time.

- We can undo units, animations and items.

A little about me then. Apart from the obvious RTW interest, I am fascinated by Classical Civilisations and suffice to say apart from football (the beautiful game), this takes up most of my time. I adore travelling to ancient sites of civilisations, battles and sites of archaelogical interest. This weekend, I am planning to go with a group of friends to small town in Hertfordshire county, England called Wheathampstead. Just south of it are very good preserved remnants of a Belgic Oppidum and on the balance of probabilities it is where Cassivellaunus holed himself up in a fort pending the arrival of Julius Caesar to the northern most point of his second expedition to Britannia. (Then again, most of you here will know that.) Will be most interesting and very much looking forward to it. I am not very much into the MTW game aspect as it is a different time frame from my preferred area of history.

I have been mainly using the Org for some of the research/history threads along with the AAR ones which have been quite good. I have enjoyed the Interactive Histories section and would also echo other member comments specifically about the Interactive Histories by Kraxis. I enjoyed immensley your I/H on Antiochus. Shame it was so brief and that he met a quick and trajic end. Tried to make a short post in the I/H Warriors Ambition but had no luck possibly due to my serf like status in the Org.

I have chosen my handle PersianFire as I am currently reading Persian Fire by Tom Holland regarding the rise of Persian Empire and the Greek States specifically Sparta and leading to the Battle of Thermopylae. Hlfway through it and a decent enough book.

Anyway, there appears to be a lot of decent, intelligent and very knowledgeable people here and I look forward to conversing/meeting you soon."

TruePraetorian there is only one game referred to as the beautiful game and it is not gridiron football. I do follow it at times, but it amazes me the amount of people you need in the team. I have just about got my head around alot of the maneovers and it always makes me laugh when the sports commentators refer to the built-like-a-brick-shithouse defense as athletes. Apart from being fat and attempting to sack/crush the oppostion they do litle else. Good game but against proper football, no contest.

Mouzafphaerre I have to admit that at this time apart from playing RTR 6.0 or Gold (I think), I have not played any other. EB, I have looked into it in quite detail and will be playing it once I get some time as it looks fantastic judging from screenshots and AAR's. Also, very much looking forward to RTR 7.0 as well."

I am here! As a classical history nut, I'll always be on at somepoint or another...and hope to lose the "JUNIOR MEMBER HERE" bumper sticker soon.

Hi there,Vladi(Ne)mir here..a newbie i am( from Central Europe).Well,I'm 24,sudent(History,3rd year-slowly ending):)..I've been playing RTW for 3 years now(i think) plus many of the different mods that have come with it...got hooked immediately..yep:charge: and it's been really the only game that i 've been playing so far...however,after conquering all that was possible with almost every faction i got bored...then i got stuck on rome total realism...which was great at first but when playing on very hard/very hard...and passing the year 200-180 bc it got just boring..the AI had so much army that i got bored killing so many and they kept comin' but anyway,always loved that thrill when you start the game and struggle to survive and every fight is crucial even with the rebels hehe.....enjoyed playing Bactria or being a megalomaniac with the Seleucids... .. i got this issue with romans in RTW..i just can't stand them :laugh4: ...anyway...now! EB OMG..This is the real deal!!!!!!!!!...I just love those 4 turns per year,high army units cost + upkeep(which makes it all more realistic..well it does to me)+ reformsl( haven't got that far yet,because i didn't know about reforms in the game..so ..i can't wait:2thumbsup: )+ it's more tactical this way when you can't have vast armies so quickly..
Currently playing with Carthago very hard/very hard.....it's unbelievably hard..i'm managing somehow though ,but even the rebel units seem to be equaly strong as some of my heavy units...weird...so i said i'm going to start all over on medium/medium game..to get to know the game etc.. ''Hannibal ante portas!'' :laugh4: ..hm got carried away hehe...That's all ,a great forum with a lot of useful information!!

I have played all which are released yet. Currently i'm shifting between the last three titles. As i only have my notebook at my disposal, which has seen some years now and is not that suited for gaming, i'm mostly playing MTW, because it is not able to run M2TW and RTW only poorly.
