Ramses will be subbing for me.
I talked to Zim earlier about this, but I am dropping out of the game. It turns out hotseat isn't my cup of tea and I can't put the effort into it that it deserves.
I hope a new player can be found, and I'm sure Ramses can continue to sub if need be.
My apologies.

Nothing of consequence to report really. No invasions or wars, Poland attacked Egypt and you were forced to pick a side there, but otherwise things went precisely as you lay out in your PM.

Askthepizzaguy

TuffstuffMcGruff is France, is he not? He's not at war with anyone, and he appears to be holding position. i'd say its a safe skip.
decimator22
08-23-2008, 18:24
I can sub him if you think its needed rather that just skipping his turn.
FactionHeir
08-23-2008, 19:37
48 hours (even 72) have passed so subbing shouldn't be allowed in accordance to the rules. Only skipping. This means log in, decline everything that is offered, end turn, upload.
Except Zim has the passwords, and Zim isn't able to to access the org at the moment.
FactionHeir
08-24-2008, 13:08
I'm thinking a good idea then would be to have a vice-gamemaster who also has the passwords in case the main is unavailable.
This game is losing a lot of fun and interesting at this rate IMO.
Sorry guys. I've been housesitting and a storm robbed us of internet access this past week.
As far as a "vice gamemaster", knowing how responsible they are I'd gladly pick either FactionHeir or Ramses for getting the passwords for the game.

08-28-2008, 05:39
I can say from exerience that FH is the perfect choice to enforce punctuality.:whip: I would imagine Ramses to be an excellent choice as well.
I'm happy with either too, it could be whoever has time, FH could be busy moderating the Citadel (even though he seems to be everywhere at once :laugh4: ) and Ramses might be busy with his AAR or LotR, hopefully one can do it though.

Cecil XIX
08-30-2008, 05:19
Zim's decision. As ATPG said, stuff happens.
Because of my connection problems last week I haven't been around to issue tardy players warnings. I decided to pm TuffStuff and give him a day to respond.
Because the extent of the delay was largely the fault of my own computer problems and absence I'm inclined to go ahead and play through from the current save. If this is a problem with people I'd like to know, though.
I've come upon a way to prevent the problem repeating itself. I'm going to pm the gm of one of the other hotseats here. If he accepts I'll send him all the passwords from the game and notify you who it is. Then if I'm ever absent for some reason he can skip any missed turns.

I've been informed by FactionHeir that my alliance with Egypt is still active at the expense of the one with with his faction.
This is a mistake, I did not play my turn so I cannot correct it. Please correct this for me next turn.
Ramses II CP
09-10-2008, 20:47
That has to be my fault since I did your turn last time, sorry ATPG. Since Polish armies are almost certainly in siege of some Egyptian forts it's very important for the next player who subs for England to break the alliance with Egypt first and then resume the one with Poland.

While I enjoy having some influence in this hotseat, I think perhaps it would be best to find a player who can actually control my faction.
Sorry lads!
I'm going to go ahead and move the turn pretty soon, since it's been two days.
Original Hungary player barcamartin is subbing the turn. I'll pm the player who replaced him to see if he's staying in the game. If not, I might see about switching one or two of the unplayed factions to AI control, after trying to find players for them.

As an aside, I'm a bit confused about the rather large troop buildup that is occurring on your side of our shared border. The Italian States and the Danes may become concerned... I'm sure that we can calm things down with an alliance.
Does Cecil have any allies that could take his turn? I understand he's having internet problems.

Askthepizzaguy
10-10-2008, 00:59
I am assuming everyone is ok with my plans to withdraw from the game?
If not, you can always find another sub, or you could make it AI-controlled and let my allies pick it apart.
Cecil XIX
10-10-2008, 04:49
Now that you mention it, I am against it. Giving away territories happened alot in the last GC Hotseat, and I think it really killed it. I'd prefer to just get a sub, although I think anything would be better.
Skipped Hungary's turn.
http://www.mizus.com/files/pbm/2GHC-20-England.zip
Before having England subbed/turned AI/whatver we're going to do, I thought it would be a good time to decide what should be done about the factions currently missing permanant players (England, Turkey, Sicily, maybe Hungary).
Should I seek out new players for them or turn them ai? What do people think of the idea of exitting players "willing" their territory to allies?
Personally I think they should be turned over to AI control rather than be gifted to allies. It gives the surviving players some fresh targets that aren't human to attack (and therefore won't turn into World War 1).
_Tristan_
10-12-2008, 10:39
Zim, could you sub my turn when it comes until the 31st of October... I'll take it up from then...
Sure thing, Tristan. Just leave instructions if there's anything in particular you need done.
Ok, I'll spend some time trying to get players for the empty factions, then start setting them to ai control after the next time we roll around back to England.

Hello everyone,
First I'd like to apologize for disappearing. I had some pretty bad viruses on my computer (for the second time in recent months. Considering how few sites I go on, I'd think my comp would be ok :furious3: ). I am going to send a pm inquiring whether a certain other gm on the boards would be willing to keep copes of all the pws from this game to help continue it if I'm ever gone again.
Would you all like to continue the game? I think it still had the potential to stay an interesting mp game, and still has the highest number of players of the hotseat games.
What do you guys think?

Sorry for the extended wait. I've had some "adventures" reinstalling MTW2, it will be up on my comp soon. I can only beg for forgiveness of any patient enough to have waited this long. I am going to talk to a friend to co-gm the game so this doesn't happen again.
I suddenly have great respect for those with busy schedules that have played a big role in hotseats as well as KOTR and LOTR. Working full time and going to school again (now in a law enforcement academy rather than regular college...) I've gained a new appreciation for the many hardworking Org members that I lacked as a nonworking bum.
