Sorry guys, something unforseen came up yesterday, and I spent the entire day away and I only came back at dawn.
Anyways, the resuming what happened:
Day 6 votes are due in 3 PM GMT / 10 AM EST, 3rd of December.Quote:
The Red Phoenix - Night 6
Someone stays awake at night and goes to attack Faction Heir, who defends himself yet again and chases the attacker away.
Next day the advisors reconvene yet again to try and find out the culprit.
Well at least only one attacker now - FH, any clues in your writeup?
Nope, not this time, or Jolt forgot.
After going back through and reading the posts my FOS points to Beskar and to Subotan
Here's a quick analysis of the alive people:
Subotan has had exactly 0 posts since getting his role, and yet he hasn't been WoG'd, so he's doing something to stay active.
On the day that we voted off Khaan, Beskar jumped on atheotes when Khaan was in danger, quickly followed by Sprig (Sima Yi).
What's worse is that ATPG's analysis agrees with me. If this is right and he figured this out 3 nights ago I'll be mightly impressed.
ATPG post has nice outline of that day's votes:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showp...&postcount=112
Beskar has claimed the role of Man Chong (Boning) in one of his earlier posts. Man Chong is a minor Wei side general. However his name was mentioned right in the Red Cliffs wiki article, so it's quite possible he just pulled a minor character from there figuring nobody else will have him.
ATPG and Joooray have both been active and were the first 2 to vote for Khaan. They're likely innocent.
FactionHeir - confirmed pro town power role.
Yaropolk - active but nothing to prove he's innocent. I'd be willing to post my role PM if it comes down to it. I would rank myself third on suspect list after Subotan / Beskar.
After going through that I'm going to vote: Beskar with Subotan being lynchbait for tomorrow.
Actually, changed my mind on the priority of lynches - on the Khaan lynch, Beskar did have a chance to save Khaan by throwing his vote over to Jooray, especially since he would've known Atheotes still had a vote left and would try to save himself.
Subotan today,
Beskar tomorrow
unvote: Beskar vote: Subotan
Although it also impacts the clues about my own innocence I would recommend that we consider that there might be two independent mafia groups in this game, with one of them emerging when the other is weakened or destroyed. After all the write-up after Sprigs execution does not say anything about a connection to our enemies army but only that he has to die the death of a rebel. That means the voting behavior when we went against khaan might not be the best indicator.
Or am I missing something here.
Apart from that I find your arguments to be sufficient enough to Vote: Subotan. Especially the not being WoGed part is quite damning.
I think at least 3 of the alive are innocent + myself - Beskar, AVSM and possibly Yaropolk.
This leaves on the suspicious list:
Subotan
ATPG
Joooray
I'm not too certain on Subotan's guilt, seeing how he's very much inactive - afterall Jolt threatened me with WoG even though I have a role too...
So if we were to ignore Subotan for now, I would say its either ATPG or Joooray. Joooray claimed absence over the weekend when I was attacked first, so it may clear him unless he lied about that.
So currently my main suspect is ATPG (in particular because he seemed to have some background cooperation with Sprig), though I would like Jolt's commentary regarding Subotan's continued survival first.
I obtained this list via checking the voting rounds regarding Sprig.
P.S.: I think the previous day's vote was rather light (3 votes total) so that doesn't contribute much. Still, I imagine Sprig's partner in crime would not hesitate voting for him considering that they know analysis would be performed, which is why it doesn't clear anyone.
Trust me, I wouldn't have picked :daisy:-man as a character.
I just checked the rules, and it only says I can't reveal in private, but I can reveal publicly. Since I will be honest, I haven't paid much attention to the game due to the confusing round end times and the fact I didn't have night actions, I was mainly inactive. I will just post my role pm, most likely get me night killed, but it would be better than an active townie/power-role dying.

If you want to tell the host he did a bad role PM, go ahead. I haven't touched it.
It could be a reference to the openng post which talked about rumours.
Quote:
The memos were written with very aggressive, borderline mutinous, and erudite language, which made it seem like it was written by one of the more intelligent men. This gave way to rumors as to who was writing the circulating papers. Of course, the soldierly, began pointing fingers at the original staff, that they were dissatisfied with the importance that the Prime-Minister was giving a newcomer, and that they were becoming mutinous.
Maybe - my PM is very similar to yours and contains that line, but it explicitly says that I'm rumored to be upset with Cao Cao for accepting the newcomer. I believe your PM is legitemate.
I didn't realize we had such a detailed outline provided to us by Jolt, all that stuff I wrote was from unrelated sources. So Jolt explicitly mentions Xu Shu and Pang Tong in his first writeup. That leads me to believe Sima Yi (Sprig) + the other guy are a second mafia unrelated to PT & XS. So.....scratch what I said about Jooray and ATPG being innocent for killing Khaan.
I'll still happily vote off a lurker (Subotan), but now my list of innocents is down to FH and Beskar.
FH - what leads you to believe AVSM is innocent?
Why not? I have voted correctly like a good little townie based on both mafioso.
If it shall please you, I am the great Cao Ren.
Sorry, I always thought being a murder target made me innocent. Foolish me. There have only ever been one murder at night, which seems to indicate one mafia family. No serial killers (because they aren't killing) and not two families (because they aren't killing). So I just find it interesting that me being targeted by a family allows for the possibility of me being guilty. How is that possible? Is factionheir, who defended me, and who was also attacked, my scum buddy, and did we set this all up so that I attack him and he attacks me to make us both look innocent? Because that's the only option I see. Bottom line is that I'm innocent and it should be flipping obvious that I am. Also Factionheir.
The best defense is that I am innocent. I may have been attacked since I went after Subotan earlier in the game, and he's not cleared and he's still alive and he's been active in other games, not so active here.
My suspect is Subotan.
vote: Subotan
OH PS- I claimed detective so I could get attacked at night, so I would die. If I were a serial killer (with apparently no kills) and there were multiple families, that would be boneheaded dumb. It wouldn't fool anyone for long and it would guarantee my own death, either by murder or by lynch. I dunno I think anyone who accuses me isn't paying close attention or thinking.
I should inform you guys that I am under a lot of stress due to a bucketload of essays I have to do in several days. On account of that, I forgot to check who missed two votes in a row.
As such, I can inform you guys that Subotan's non-WoG is not on account of him having a role or not (I have threatened in the beginning people with important roles), but because I forgot. Regardless of that, if he doesn't vote this Day, I will WoG him. Also, make no mistake, I will lynch Townies, Pro-Town and Mafia alike if they fail to vote twice in a row.
i wish i was still alive
Going to vote: Sabotan till I read the arguments tomorrow as I am going to bed now and if i don't vote (if deadline is tomorrow), I will get WoG'd.
Tally:
Subotan 3 (ATPG, Jooray, Beskar)
ATPG 1 (Yaro)
BAH bogus.
I was attacked by Pang Tong. So that means I can't use that reasoning.
I give up. I have NOT been paying close attention to this game. Go ahead and lynch me, I have no defense whatsoever.
I'm just freakin' innocent, and I'm also too busy for this :daisy:
But why would two people attack one person all game, and not seperate people, also, how did Factionheir be able to defend from two seperate attackers, usually, protection can only save you from one of them.
However, in Jolt's write-up, there is this.
Both YaseiKhaan and DIY were the two Mafia in the beginning. Also, Jolt labelled the both of those with red font. While Sprig argument by FactionHeir seemed convincing, Jolt never red fonted Sprig's name. Does that mean Sprig was actually a Mafia? Also, since the two Mafia which were called the Mafia dead, who could it be?
Luckily, there is a possible explanation. On page 8 by Paulus Tertius.
This suggests the possibility of Emergent Mafia based on a set of conditions. however, if Sprig was an emergent mafia, wouldn't his name be redded by Jolt? (so in short, a question to the Host, are all the Mafia got red-fonted when they died?)Quote:
I never had the intent of going mafia - even if I would have fulfilled the requirements.
Another issue of this, I will say to Yaropolk. You pulled out incidences of people which looked scummy at the beginning (including myself) and you said about Khaan. Emergent Mafia (at a guess) may or maynot even be related to those Mafia or be akin to Serial Killers/Emergent Serial Killers. So looking at who voted who at the beginning would be redunant, as if it is emergent mafia, they wouldn't have tried to save Khaan or DIY, as they wouldn't even be on the same side of them.
This also draws into a more serious and scary point. If it is emergent Mafia, then everyone who we pretty much think is innocent, could not be. Though, I think I can give FactionHeir benefit of the doubt, as they keep trying to attack him, but still, your argument for example AVSM saying you was a good townie and voted them off, actually means nothing, as it is possible you were never on the same side anyway.
ATPG:
My reasoning that you aren't cleared is that you were attacked by mafia gang 1. Not attacked since emergence of gang 2, and you seemed to be working closely with Sprig.
I imagine emergent mafia know of each other in any case as otherwise Sprig and his partner wouldn't have been able to make a joint attack (writeup clearly indicates joint), unless of course both attackers are very active players.
Regarding reddening of names, I imagine its Jolt's oversight - re: WoG.
vote: ATPG
since Subotan will be WoGed anyway...
I guess Joooray is next if that doesn't stop the attacks.
I will gladly produce my role PM if you wish. Why would a member of Cao Cao's own family betray him? My role says nothing of turning against Cao Cao, because my character never did so in history. Xun Yu did, and thus he is
susceptible.
Vote: Subotan
If this natches it, then Yaropolk is dead tomorrow.
I redded both Mafiosi at the request of Diana, who was having trouble following who was innocent or not. As I said, I only redded both mafiosi who are publicly known to be that way through the intro. Other mafiosi, whether alive or dead, emergent or not will not be redded. It is up to the players to find out who is/are mafiosi besides the public two.
Subotan has been active. I doubt he will actually be WOG'd.
Although if you're reading this, I consider it unsporting to simply wait until one minute until round's end to vote.
I've heard it used before in place of "win". So I suppose a modified version would be:
If this lynch nabs a mafioso, then Yaropolk is dead tomorrow.
IMO subotan will be wogged tomorrow anyway so we're wasting a lynch. FH is pretty much the only CI here, so why not go with his accusation and vote ATPG, who's been using false logic about why he can't be mafia, and then went for 'Oh well lynch me' defense?
Hodge-podge. I won't be up for the rest of the voting block, while Subotan will be nice and cheery in Britain.
I think it speaks to my innocence that I couldn't even recall whether there's one mafia or two in this game. My bad, horrible defense wouldn't exist if I knew what the heck was going on. I thought this was a simple, basic game. I thought we were done when we lynched not just 2 known mafia, but Sprig, who was involved in night attacks even though he was also a detective or something.
I have no idea how many bad guys are in this game, I have no idea why they'd have detective abilities, and I am completely lost on this story, I don't know who the heck these people are... I know better than to sign up as a reserve player in games where I'm going to be distracted by other games.
I thought it was a good point that the mafia seem to want me dead. I thought it was a good point that I claimed detective to make myself a target, and if it weren't for factionheir defending me, I would be dead right now.
That makes no sense if I were mafia. Not even in the risky, gambit sense. It's boneheaded stupid as I said earlier. I apologize if I wasn't aware there were 2 separate mafia families... I'm sorry. Doesn't make me guilty in the slightest. I think there's ample reasons not to lynch me, and I'm not articulating them very well, but the reasons are very convincing, or they would be if I were able to point them out without sounding like an ass.
I don't have a good lead, I don't have a good suspect, and I'd rather a lurker (who is active elsewhere) die if he's not even going to try to lynch the mafia. Maybe he will get wogged! Maybe he's not the best lynch.
But I guarantee you this much; I am a far worse lynch.
unvote: Subotan
Because there is a chance he could be WOG'ed apparently.
If you want a different suspect gone, pick one. I don't have time to scour the thread for suspects at the moment. I also note that this action will probably result in my death, and so you'd better come up with someone better than Subotan, otherwise... adios amigos.
Good night.
your up way too late there atpg!!! I do hope they lynch you :P
Sorry guys, but I've been really busy at the moment, with University applications and the sort. And because I got behind on this, I felt too guilty and shameful to post in this thread; making it worse
This is essentially the same situation I was in. I'm just a simple townie, so I didn't have much to do. If you'd want, I can reveal my role pm.
You would know that. :beam::beam:
Also, Vote:ATPG
Just in time to avoid the WOG, eh?
I'm a terrible lynch, bottom line.
And no, I'm not going to save myself. Otherwise you'll just vote me next round. I've done good work this game, and if you ABSOLUTELY have to kill me, so be it.
Fools! :laugh4:
I take same approach to Mafia games that I do to real life. Get things done in the last possible second. Heck, I had parent's evening tonight, and I was finishing a Maths assignment that had been in for that day seconds before my Maths teacher called me in :laugh4:
Actually Subotan voted after the deadline.
Day 6 is over. Stand-by for execution.
No reveals now. Subotan is getting WoG'd.
Poor Subotan, he acually got around to voting.
The Red Phoenix - Day 6
As the council reconvened, this time no valuable information was drawn by Faction Heir as he was attacked for the second time. Due to the lack of tacit evidence, the council quickly enbroiled itself in the usual accusation flinging, this time with the various advisors trying to make sense. Some argued that the most silent of advisors were probably the culprits as they did not wish to contribute anything, lest they might have a slip of a lip and incriminate themselves. After Cao Cao said no such thing as to be an incriminatory acusation, the council then turned mostly towards Askthepizzaguy, who according to the council, was unable to explain several things regarding his past nights. Liu Ye argued that upon closer inspection, the council could see that he was innocent as he himself had been attacked, but his arguments were shrugged off. As the council draw to a close, Cao Cao called out Liu Ye "Liu Ye, how do you dare to try and work against all of us, after all I did for you? Truly you have no sense of loyalty, and as such, it is only better that you be put to death before you harm us further." Without further ado, Cao Cao motioned for the lictors to eject the advisor and put him to death. Liu Ye said little, apparently resigned to his fate "This is all irrelevant, as now I shall have to take care of hordes of zombies and battling survivors in a foreign land East of here, beyond the Grand Sea." The council was dumbfounded about the non-sense Liu Ye just uttered as he was dragged out, and they knew thus that their half-crazed fellow was dead when they heard steel connect with flesh.
https://i642.photobucket.com/albums/...492-Liu-Ye.jpg
Liu Ye, Inspector of the Han Army, has been executed.
Shortly afterwards, Cao Cao dismissed the council.
One amongst those still alive was literary prodigy Subotan. Unfortunately, and quite contrary to his superhuman abilities, Yang Xiu had remained quiet for a long time in the council, as he was coming out for the third time in a row without speaking, he met upfront a man clad with a yellow robe, and addorned with a yellow turban, he spoke to Yang Xiu as if the heavens were crashing down on the Earth and as if a mighty wave swept through everything with titanic force. "You have been deemed unworthy of such a high responsibility of State, Yang Xiu." Yang Xiu was thus terror-stricken, and could not move out of fear. The figure's eyes turned completely white and he began chanting something. The sky, which was clear that day, turned deep grey in a few seconds, as clouds drawed near. Cao Ren, noticing the scene, quickly ordered soldiers to cut down the intruder, which Cao Ren recognized as a yellow turban. But the soldiers came to late. Within a few seconds after the clouds had gathered, the figure let out a huge shriek, which coincided with the fall of lightning bolt which desintegrated Yang Xiu into a thousand tiny bits. The soldiers fell to the ground dropping their weapons, such as the quake created by the crash of the bolt into the ground. It was followed by a blinding white light for some seven seconds. When everything was visible once again, the mysterious figure had disapeared, and all there was left of his presence was a 2 meters deep crate and Yang Xiu's pieces splattered all over the emcompassing area.

Yang Xiu, Clerk of Transportation Supplies, has suffered the Wrath of Zhang Jue.
Soon however, the advisors returned to their duties and when the sun died down, returned back to their tents.

Dirty Lies. However.... just... bah.
Hmm Yaro mentioned Cao Ren being a possible mafia based on RotK and AVSM claimed Cao Ren...
Huh? Cao Ren, Cao Cao's loyal cousin? I find little rationale in that accusation.
I'm also somewhat disturbed that ATPG's title is Inspector, it could mean detective, but then again he hasn't revealed any results in public nor private.
I already addressed that point, while I was alive.
Just a quick "told you so" before I die.
TOLD YA SO.
*bleck*
Historically Sima Yi did not have accomplices. I mentioned Cao Ren because he's a known Wei general from that battle and i figured sima's associate is wei, even if not historically accurate. Historically Cao Ren is loyal. AVSM - can youy post your role?
I'm sorry for not posting, especially since I asked so hard to be included in this game. I screwed up bad, and I hope I didn't ruin Jolt's game too much. I apologise sincerely.
Night 7 is over. Stand-by for execution.
The Red Phoenix - Night 7
Night came and as soon and tonight it was New Moon, thus most propitious for a kill. A person as soon as he had returned to the tent, donned his armor and dressed a black robe on top of it, sneaking out of the tent afterwards. The inner courtyards were becoming reduced, cortesy of the many executions and deaths of the past days, as a result, the distance travelled by the man was rather little until he arrived at Yaropolk's tent. The attacker had prepared in the last day some small darts with a potent tranquilizer made of some herbs only found in the region, that had medical appliances and thus could be found aplenty in Cao Cao's camp. He quickly darted both Yaropolk's guards, and rushed inside. After what happened in the two previous nights, the attacker was now quite wary of failing to succeed in his assassinations. The hastiness of the attacker alerted Chen Qun, who was already asleep. As he turned around, from his bed to see what was all the fuss, he was horrified to see the dagger of the intruder pierce through his throat. Gasping for air, Chen Qun died seconds later.
https://i642.photobucket.com/albums/...3-Chen-Qun.jpg
Chen Qun, Chancellor's Assistent, has been assassinated.
The attacker wasted no time. Fear for Xu Chu had overtaken his every move, and he quickly took the dagger and cleaned the blood, before hastily exiting the tent, and quietly retreating back to his own. For the first time, there was a quiet kill where not even the attacker was spotted.
Once Chen Qun was found dead and Cao Cao warned, he stamped his foot to the ground in rage. "All the men of good quality are disapearing before my very eyes and I can do little to stop it!"
Chen Qun was then sent to the Imperial Capital Xu Chang and buried there.
The council was then summoned to proceed with the deliberations to who was assassinating other people and bring him forth to be executed.
"You are my most trusted men." Exhorted Cao Cao "Without all of you, my task to invade Sun Quan and Liu Bei will surely fail. But if you do not find whoever is killing your colleague, we will all suffer the ultimate price. Set your minds to the crucial task. Whoever of you who finds the assassin will have done an immense favour towards restoring order in the Empire. So gentlemen, begin." By then Cao Cao, down to his last 4 most important people in aiding him in helping conquer China, knew not on who to trust anymore.
The advisors looked with somber mood, depressed to see how little people remained on the council. The scene resembled much more some sort of secret conspiracy ring than a War Council of an Imperial Army. Even Cao Cao was unsecure by now. But he knew he could not afford to retreat now that he seemed so strong. Doing so would ensure that he would be the laughter of the entire China.

DESTROY THE BESKAR
Hmmm this round will probably be crucial given that the next night phase is a 50/50 of whether we or the mafia win.
Since Beskar's character seems to be rather minor though, I'm not sure if it could be him...
I'd like some thoughts on Joooray though. He claimed to have been absent during the weekend when I was first attacked. Any idea on whether he can be trusted on this?
If he can be, I imagine this leaves only one person: AVSM.
I assure you, I am a townie.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Sima Yi did eventually "betray" Cao Cao. Although he was long dead by then. We don't even know if Sprig was mafia, but it seems to have helped.
Everyone, reveal. Now.
Any thoughts on either Beskar or Joooray?
Jooray has not revealed, has he? Beskar has at least given us his character's name.
it may not be a bad idea to look at the role PMs more carefully
I'm not the one we are looking for. To prove it I enclose my role pm.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Apart from that I'm also quite lost at who might be that last persistent traitor among us.
Now that I think of it. AVSM's role pm looks quite different compared to mine. It at least strikes me as somewhat odd.
oh dear....
Beskar.....
I fully revealed a couple of pages ago.
Didn't Sprig have a one-time investigation role and it turned out he was a Mafia? (two people went down to one)
Vote: AVSM
