       1095 continued

    The Second Session of the Conseil du Royaume opens. Captain Gaspard de Neufville and Duc Hugues de Champagne are the candidates for Seneschal.

    In a shocking, to some, twist, King Philippe disqualifies Gaspard from running and joins the contest.

    Voting on Legislation and the Election for Seneschal at the First Conseil Session.

    The Election for Seneschal ends in a tie. A second vote occurs.


       1096

    Hugues defends the Moselle ford.

    The Seneschal's report: A German attack at the Moselle ford is repulsed. Imperial forces, including the new Kaiser, converge southeast of Frankfurt.

    Prince Henri is discontented.

    Gaeten is offered redemption.

    Whispers in the Dark

    Prince Henri contemplates his next move.

       1098

    Prince Louis is attacked by multiple waves of Germans west of Bern.

    The Seneschal's report: Prince Louis's incursion near Bern is pushed back. Kaiser Maximillian is now east of Frankfurt. The Germans reject a peace offer. Negotiations with England will be handled by a more skilled diplomat.

    The Conseil debates peace offers to the Empire.

    The Prodigal Knight returns to the Conseil.

    King Philippe attacks Kaiser Maximillian east of Frankfurt.


       1099

    The Seneschal's report: England and Scotland are at war, as are Milan and Venice. The Rhine is quiet. Negotiations begin anew with the English.

    The Conseil argues over whether to negotiate or war with England.


       1101

    The Seneschal's report: Princess Constance marries Barbus Selvo. Valencia and Caernarvon are exchanged for Caen. The English are excommunicated. The Realm's standing with the Pope is excellent.

    Deathbed Confession

    King Philippe and Duc Alain seek détente as the the Conseil begins debating a response to the excommunication of the English.

    The King calls for a Crusade.

    The Seneschal objects and subsequently calls for an Emergency Session.

    Prince Louis seconds the call, and an Emergency Session begins.

    Let Us Hope for Sobriety

    Voting on Legislation at the First Emergency Session.

    The Seneschal's Emergency report: There is currently no state of war with England. A Crusade has not been called at the present time. An addendum to the report: Edict E1.3b has passed, there will be a Crusade against London soon.

    Prince Henri encamps in the east.


       1102

    Duc Hugues destroys a German assault in the second Battle of Staufen.

    The Seneschal's report: A German attack is crushed near Staufen. The Moors declare war on France. The Holy Roman Empire is excommunicated.

    The Conseil is jarred by the new developments.

    Undaunted, King Philippe declares war on the English.


       1104

    The Seneschal's report: Staufen is taken. Angers and Bordeaux are besieged.

    Mercenary Musings

    Prince Henri attacks the Germans east of Frankfurt and faces the latest Kaiser.

    Prince Louis crushes and ransoms the Jihad army of Sultan Tahar.


       1105

    The Seneschal's preliminary and regular report: The Jihad on Baghdad is succesful, leaving two Moorish armies threatening the realm. The siege of Pamplona is repulsed and the English heavily reinforce. Nuremburg and Bern are besieged. Valencia and Bordeaux are taken.

    The new threat causes tempers to flare in the Conseil.

    Prince Henri considers his next move.


       1107

    The Seneschal's report: Nuremburg and Angers are taken. The Germans threaten Antwerp. King William flees to York. The Moors move into Italy.


       1108

    The Seneschal's report: Pamplona is taken and the Germans repulsed near Magdeburg. Antwerp and Bern are threatened.

    Captain de Montpierre and the Order attack the English at the Battle of Shrewsburry-upon-Tyne.

    Prince Henri engages the Germans outside Magdeburg in the Battle of Botersheim Forest.


       1110

    The Seneschal's report: York and Nottingham are taken. King William is killed. Hamburg is besieged. The last English army on the continent is destroyed. The Germans retreat from Antwerp.

    A Suitable Fiance

    The King distributes lands from the Royal Demesne: Bordeaux to Aquitaine, Bern to Bourgogne, Angers to Bretagne and Staufen to Lorraine.

    The Seneschal's end of Term report: London is taken. Both the English and the Empire reject peace.
