I don't know how to articulate it more beyond like, this exasperation that Newcomb has not settled on any reads he hasn't been willing to bend depending on who he's interacting with.

There's this whole aloof and disaffected look where he can't even bother to think about people in thread much.

everyone feels super homogeneous in a way that's distinct from like thinking everyone's super towny or whatever

just there aren't. lines

there aren't divides which aren't necessarily that helpful but once you stack enough of them on top of each other people start popping out

there's like some of it in the org-specific group kiinda but even then it's. very non-discrete in a way that doesn't make me uncomfortable because i don't think we're like way off track necessarily but it's puzzling

i have a hard time reading monstr because his playstyle as a wolf is self-aware in a way distinct from a lot of people, and it's not just like being able to post like a villager would but genuinely intuitively generating stuff that he would think as a villager by maintaining a sort of self-aware distance while wolfing

meaning his wolf posts have a villagery flavor to them that is stronger than a lot of peoples' and it's similar enough to mine that i have a hard time ever trusting how i read it

im not always confident on day 1 wolfreads (and i dont think my accuracy is anything special) but my approach is to just step to the plate and swing as hard as possible like im javier baez. i might strike out a lot but sometimes ill hit a home run

Tbh, it might be petty, but the way you just straight up ignored my case but apparently lock me town rustles my jimmies something fierce.

Like, even if you 100% disagree with it, you don't even engage to say "I think that's an uncharitable take"? You don't try and work with one of your "lock" townreads when you think they're barking the fuck up the wrong tree?

Talk to me about why me potentially confbiasing myself into trying to lead on someone who is generally a good town player when they rand town and don't die is something you're okay with if you're town and you think we both are?

sunbae i think is pretty villagery but there's been enough waffling that it's conceivably something wolves feel absolutely fine going for

and monty is shrug it's fine but i don't super vibe with any of the people who feel more strongly about it than mild shrug and doesn't look good

and specifically i think these reads are presented from most to least objectionable

and in the absence of thinking any individuals are super wolfy i'm inclined to vote the people who are not actively villagery and who are also trying to kill people that a) i think are villagers and b) feel like villagers wolves would try to kill here

Wolves acting disaffected by reads on them tends to be townread. Also the act of "I don't even remember who made it" puts the implication on that it's a weak case and therefore undermines other people possibly following it.

i haven't had the time to exhaustively engage with this game and i'm picking my battles

and the reasons i'm confidently calling you a villager have nothing to do with the newc stuff, which was either probably long enough form that my brain couldn't process it yesterday or was after i made up my mind

i am not going to spend my energy discussing the reads of someone i v-read to judge the validity of that alignment d1 when i could spend it sorting through people i have a lot less of a picture of

i'm not worried about you confbiasing onto newc because i'm thoroughly unconcerned about newc dying today and that's all i really care about

if i was i would be talking more and thinking more about newc but i'm absolutely fine just letting him do his thing for the time being esp since i lean slightly v based on my own criteria

my wolf game is levelly as shit

i can compare other people to this based on how levelly they are

some people are very good wolves so they can calibrate level in a way that i have a hard time reading even if otherwise process is different but monstr just always has that circuit in his brain running as either alignment and there's not really any super solid ground to read it off and we haven't played outside of that enough to develop other good ways of reading
