not really a case just some gut feelings about how ender interacted with cuth about his wolf reads

i'm a bit too lazy to bother with it today with monty seeming like they're always going over so i'm trying to save face in case he flips wolf

i dont wanna dig it up, but ender went out of his way to sort of suspect cuth for cuth v reading ender but disregarding ender's push on newcomb

and that did not feel like the way a wolf would interact with a villager who was v reading them. they would just take the win and interact in ways that are a bit more positive

but the way he kind of overly went about suspecting cuth for it seemed like it was built to distance without any OOMPH or traction

i was going to spend TODAY figuring out how ender interacted with over known villagers and wolves to see how different that looked and also looking at cuth more deeply but i'm just not into it

reason id call it wolfy from someone with more experience with FPSing (such as myself) is that there's significantly better ways to do what you did

like, on D2 i considered claiming sorc/backup sorc to see if, in the event the D2 vest was on a wolf, they'd blow me up. but then sunbae/zack claimed and i was also wrong bout who had the vest anyway so i only could have gotten way with a backup claim which, even if the vest was on a wolf, is probably the lower priority target?

ender was around at EOD and ladd/monstr were afk/banned

sleep/kat/monty/cuth/rask were at EOD (were others? idk) so if the wolf is in them they had a chance to coordinate

of those, it seems like he'd only really be coordinating with sleep/kat to push a newc kill

if its one of kat/sleep, the other was really trying to sell hard to earn a 3rd/4th/5th vote from me and possibly others like winston/monty

there's validity in doing that on newc over a player like raskol since wolves would really want to lunch newc d1. i know i would, so i cant really clear kat/sleep for not just hopping (along with ender) onto raskol to secure a mislunch

gm, wont be around for long cause i have an appointment at 3 but

at risk of sounding like im a wolf expanding the PoE or whatever, i don't think players voting ladd should get credit due to his specific role - the n3 sorc isn't reallllllly a strong PR (neither of the wolf PRs are that meaningful) since all the sorcerers do is effectively accelerate the game a day and the wolf one is the one that follows that rule the most because like, the town sorc can theoretically target a player who was unlikely to get NKed or yeeted. mafia sorc almost always targets a clear villager (which gives town a controlled KP, effectively mafia NK + town daykill) or they target a wolf whos 100% dying (which gives mafia a dayvig while also killing a wolf, effectively mafia NK + town daykill)

with all of that said - i still do think they should get a lot of credit, not because ladd was the n3 sorc but because ladd was ladd and the other two flipped wolves aren't players i think are quite That Elite?, so like. why bus ladd over the other two flippd wolves




anyway uh. i feel like im dying today and i'm prob not going to try to stop it

ok i really should do stuff but i'm going to talk through why i felt strongly about ender v at the time because newc and maybe others also asked about it

i don't think it's a very partnery thing for someone with ender's approach to wolfread their partner for a kinda dubious reason when a lot of the rest of the thread is pretty casually being like yeah that guy's pretty villagery, and then when being intensely pushed over this read and like directly offered contrary explanations for a read that again w!ender would have made up and be able to tell was kinda dubious not be like oh you're right this is a bad read or even eh you might be right but i think this makes more sense but instead get quite defensive and assume i'm trying to catch him on a contradiction

that's just not how wolves react

and if you fit this into the framework of how he's been approaching the game more broadly

that wolf read lines up with a lot of his other reads in terms of depth and style, it's not like this weird manufactured thing that only applies to ladd

i think it's possible that someone like ender would like intentionally do a bad push on a teammate and know it would be wrong, but i have a hard time seeing him act around it the way he did

for the very little it's worth when i squinted at the thread d2/after dolby flip i was looking in something like and this is super non-clarified but

specifically in the context of my conversation with ender about these reads, for the record

i was super pushing at what i thought was meh justification for his read on ladd, which was a bit counter to thread consensus at the time, and his reaction is to explain a bit more reasoning behind the exact same justification and then feel super defensive and double down on that

this is not how a wolf, or at least not how ender in particular as a wolf, plays distancing

it was primarily a sheeped read

also he had some stronger stuff in earlier bit

but also he felt like he did in that one turbo we played semi-recently where we also killed him d1

in the sort of uh idk

i never felt awesome about it but i did think v-ish i think directly after his posting earlier plus oh someone was pushing him in a kinda weird way (not ender)

This is a sudden switch on to Katze, via purely omgus reasons.

There's a lot of words he puts around it to make it seem better, but it's a slide back into low effort content for wolfy.

This is probably my favourite wolf ping. It's not a wolf tell by itself but wolves often feel the need to over-justify weak reads. No one would've blinked at the OMGUS without an in depth explanation, but Newcomb felt the need to justify it.
