    You're out of date. The micro-brewery thing has exploded, and the choice of beers in the U.S. is now immense. There are still a lot of people drinking Bud, but that's not the beginning nor the end of the spectrum of U.S. beer.

    Exactly. Allagash is one of the best beers I've had and it's brewed in Maine. Great Belgian style stuff. I'll drink pretty much any quality beer though. I don't drink Guinness though, I'm not sure if I haven't been exposed to it enough but I've never been a big fan of it.

    I have to say I can't see why anyone could knock Belgian beer though. Seriously the stuff is better than 90% of anything on the market, and Belgians don't just make strong Trappist beers either.
