This was the tally at the end of the phase. Because it affects the game, I'm not counting actions past the deadline. (Would be unfair to a certain team to allow illegal voting, etc)Guard: Khazaar, YLC, Beefy
Forage: CB, Tratorix, Atheotes
Beefy: Atheotes Tratorix
Atheotes: Beefy

You didn't unaction, action: Forage
But whichever. I'll mark you down as forage but seriously, we gotta do things the correct way. It's confusing as the host, and illegal votes make the game less fair for all.

The only problem I have with this is that I´m usually never around during crunchtime, which means I am unable to react to actions taken close to the deadline. But I guess the rest of town could have acted if they wanted a different result.
I guess maybe next time make a post at deadline with the results (in this case Beefy getting lynched) and do the writeup later. Since there was no clear round over I felt like I could still affect the outcome (sometimes mods need to prolong the round for whatever reasons).
Day Five:
While Veronica Orleans was out foraging in the dark forest, she was surrounded by zombies. She used her shotgun and attempted to blast her way through the horde, but the El Gigante stood in her path. She blasted it in the face and it began to stagger, but she was grabbed from behind by a bunch of zombies. Dropping her shotgun, she tried to fight them off with the Bloody Axe, which was perfect for melee. She managed to beat many of the zombies off of her, but she was grabbed by the Gigante and hurled over a precipice. Her broken body was never found. The only remains that were ever found was a vial of T-Virus Antidote, which was empty.
When Cleveland King came back from foraging, he noticed that the town was down another person. And now, it seemed they were still keen on lynching someone. Not wanting to die, King cast his vote for the so-called Doctor, Eugene Flaherty. Mary Baltimore had persuaded him to do so. The others didn't think lynching was such a good idea and abstained. Mary took out her Magnum and King took out his TMP and they both fired on Eugene and killed him right then and there.
They didn't want the body to turn into a zombie, but they had no means of preventing it, so they just dragged the corpse into the woods and shot it many more times. Now there were four.

Night Five:
With the others planning their actions for the night, Kansas C. Smith walked over to the loner, Cleveland King, and asked him what his plans were. King wasn't sure what to do, but he was getting sick and tired of the other villagers killing off useful people or otherwise getting themselves killed. He was sure he was going to die.
Smith: "Don't be so sure about that. I have something for you which will make the zombies no threat to you whatsoever."
King: "Something? Like what?"
Smith: "Like this...."
Kansas Smith withdrew a vial of clear, yellow fluid, and stuck it in Cleveland King's neck. The results were nearly instantaneous... this body was indeed a compatible host. While the others continued to bicker about what action to take tonight, whether to fight or escape, Kansas Smith began sprinting towards Rural Route 2.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Now the Tyrant was unleashed... and the remaining two villagers could do nothing but open fire on the thing, in vain... and when it was clear none of their weapons could possibly damage it, they ran straight into the woods, where the zombies lay in wait. They were completely surrounded...
Mary Baltimore and Claude Jacksonville tried desperately to fight through the horde, but it was no use... Mary was picked up by the El Gigante and crushed between its huge hands, and Claude Jacksonville was impaled through the chest by the Omega Tyrant. The viral creatures began to feast on their remains... which soon began to reanimate and become one with the zombie horde.
Kansas C. Smith made it all the way to the highway where she quickly radioed for the chopper. The voice crackled as it came through.
Albert Wesker: "Was your test of the Omega virus sample successful?"
Kansas C. Smith: "Yes. It worked better than I had hoped... it immediately destroyed everyone who had not already been covered in the pheremone. I imagine it will cause quite a lot of chaos and destruction before the United States Military can destroy it. That is, if there is anything left of the United States when we are finished executing the plan."
Albert Wesker: "Good. I may have use for you yet. Given your performance here, I suspect you will go very far in the new organization. Take the chopper and meet me in Ottawa, and from there we will head to the new command center."
Kansas C. Smith: "Understood."

Congrats YLC
great game everyone and excellent write-ups ATPG.

Great game Pizza, I liked that players can still be active in the game after being killed. Great story line, congrats YLC, on 1st place. Special thanks to members of the zombie family, working together on this was fun. Good work everyone, it was a blast.![]()

I am surprised I have won - was it not obvious whom I was once you saw the plethora of items I obtained, the RPG, the ability to survive repeated zombie attacks? I even tried hinting I was the agent for fun - or did you all just assume from the opening write-up that the agent was a man![]()
Hmmm....
If you had lynched, say, Tratorix instead... you would have gotten points for lynching the Tyrant Host, Tratorix would have failed his only mission, and YLC would not have gotten a "free" escape while the horde was focused on the town and the Tyrant. It would have been harder for YLC to win, and impossible for Tratorix to win. However, the town's best chance at victory was an all-out assault on the zombies as soon as the Axe murderer was killed and they had enough weapons. At that point, the horde would have been incapacitated for 24 hours and escape would have been much simpler for everyone. I admit it was not immediately obvious that was the way to go, however the options attack the horde and escape were both necessary for a townie win. Logically one should attack the horde and then escape.
The serial killer would have done better if he had gotten all of the main targets... then if he turned into a zombie it wouldn't have really affected his victory condition. He didn't care about killing the Agent, which the zombies were more concerned with. Admittedly survival for the serial killer seemed impossible, but... if the Agent had created the Tyrant, it was entirely possible that the town would be mostly annihilated by the Tyrant and the zombies... and it was indeed possible that the Axe Murderer could have continued killing the remaining townies at night while the Tyrant destroyed anyone during the day that voted for him, as well as an additional kill.
The Agent had a difficult mission, a risky one... she had to stick around until she found the Tyrant Host, which could easily have been killed off (Split nearly did one night, changed his mind) or grabbed by the zombies (nearly happened a couple times). Failing to create the Tyrant was something that she had little control over. Much of her victory condition demanded that the townies and the zombies both missed the target completely.
I think all sides were pretty balanced. The zombies would have done better if they had killed the Tyrant Host, then the agent.

I'm a huge, nigh unkillable monster... yay? Oh well, I win anyway. Thought I probably had a role like this, since my one goal was to not die...
Hmm, to me the setup seemed to be contra town. Too many options and unclear victory conditions, the possibility to flee severly hurt the rest of the town. Also SK, Agent, Zombies against town that hurt itself doesn´t seem balanced, but since this is a horror scenario it´s OK. A few townies survived and the story can continue, just like resident evil...

The town needed to lynch the SK. After that, they needed to escape, and the town was very close to doing so. It was simply a matter of being organized and having a clear will to do so. But that is the flaw of every single townie group. It's no different in any other mafia game where the town greatly outnumbers the anti-townies, but they have no unity.
Admittedly I left a couple things vague, but many people had the right idea: you needed to escape to win. It was just a matter of making sure the horde was disabled before you did so.
Apologies to anyone if that made it harder on the town. Any Resident Evil game I host will be difficult for the town to win outright, and the difficulty and tension was designed to make every player feel totally doomed, though victory was absolutely possible and they were close to it. It's part of the ambience of the game to feel lost and vulnerable.
I think the fact that two townies escaped, and the town got beefy enough to damage the horde and some were planning to do so, is a testament to how close you came. Well played... just not quite enough.

Admittedly, I thought YLC was agent early on (same way I did with Ichigo in Swords of the Moon), but I suffered "I got deaded first round so screw this" syndrome (especially when "discussing with pevergreen" = "getting ignored, receiving random nonsense and he did his own thing") other than a couple of posts where I posted just for fun.
Congratulations though, you did good.

Days since the Apocalypse began
"We are living in space-age times but there's too many of us thinking with stone-age minds" | How to spot a Humanist
"Men of Quality do not fear Equality." | "Belief doesn't change facts. Facts, if you are reasonable, should change your beliefs."
then why did my win condition say to try and stick around? I assumed that the town could win through means other than escaping..... it was still a great game though, win condition or not.

Beskar- Admittedly I was a little dismayed by pevergreen's enthusiasm. Fortunately for the game's sake, others stepped in.
CDF- Indeed your character wanted to save the town itself, by destroying the evil (Axe man). However, escaping was also an option, a necessary one, as indicated by the PM. Perhaps could have been clearer. Apologies for any confusion.

I almost helped you win town, gosh darnit!
Great game, lots of fun ATPG.
I am in for all of your future games, EVER.
Also, the axe man wasn't evil, he just wanted to kill everyone!
Loved my role so much.
