Questions from someone with no clue when it comes to modding. If LTC Gold is lacking that file, where is it getting its names from? The name file for vanilla? I remember reading if a file isn't in the folder for the mod, the game just grabs the vanilla file. Could we modify that and stick it in the right folder for LTC Gold?

I am no modder, but yes, to all, I think.

What I think someone needs to do - who has not yet installed LTC - is to "unpack" M2TW to find the relevant file.

If that's it then I'm ready to roll.

But that will have to wait until I'm back home.

This is the guide I've followed until now but problems remained to be ironed out.

    Working on it...

Could be either way, as based on the Guide YLC linked above the game reads the names from names.strings.bin, which is automatically generated from names.txt at game start-up.

So it could either: use the vanilla names.txt to generate names.strings.bin for LTC Gold, or use the names.strings.bin supplied by LTC Gold mod (this assuming that LTC Gold comes with only the .bin version).

The problem being that the strings.bin file is unworkable...

The only thing I know for sure is that the LTC names and the Vanilla names are exactly the same.

You can get Python 2.5 and the .bin converter.

I'm waiting to see where each character fits into the game. Who is leading the houses? What regions does a house control? And etc...

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.
