That's your opinion. I personnally think a Warcraft MMO without the Plague, Arthas, the Silver Hand and Ronin would have been freaking stupid.
Honestly, I started to trully enjoy WoW when I started to meet known characters. Before that, WoW was just a good MMO.
I mean, they could just have made a new fantasy franchise, be done with it. It would probably have been a successful MMO, but the whole reason I bought it was the name: "World of Warcraft".
Furthermore, I don't see why players shouldn't be allowed to kill well-known characters. A guy who went through the whole leveling process achieved much more than Anu'barak, Kel'Thuzad, Arthas, Kael'thas and Illidan altogether.
As for the easy content, I cannot say. I've stopped raiding right after I killed 10-people Kel'Thuzad, and I indeed found Naxxramas easy as hell, compared to prenerf BC. My friends (who were less casual than me) told me the hard mode for some bosses were really difficult though.
There should have been a 3rd faction right from the start. Adding the forsaken to the horde was silly. Now, a whole part of the lore is focused on trying to make it seem that they've betrayed the Horde though they're technically still part of it.Illidari should have been a 3rd faction, with Naga, Blood Elves and Broken/Draenei as playable races. All I can say for BC.
