Good gravy. I hope you folks accomplish your goals, exit the town, or get consumed by zombies soon.

I also have to say, I've been broken by this game. You know your fancy schmancy character cards? I can't keep doing upwards of 60 of those every phase. It's insanity.

KEEP YOUR CHARACTER CARDS. Don't delete them. I may start just giving up "updates", which are all the relevant information you need to know, but not inserted all over the place on a character card. I'll tell you what happened, how many bullets you used, any new items, any damage, and indicate where people may be around you. But you might have to just accept that info instead of a whole character card. I can't spend 5 or so days working on these things every phase for the next 5-10 phases.

Never attempt a game this big in this style. Don't try it. Can't be done, even by me.

I am getting the feeling me and "Wakizashi man" are going to have a final showdown.....

Of course I can't confirm or deny that I have ever met him yet....

Edit:Should we forward the 'Character Cards' to you, as well as are actions Pizzaguy?

It could be done with the help of some programming...
You'd need to build a tool that could handle much of the manual stuff like moving players around on a grid and expose possible interactions between players. Also an auto generation of player-cards and a plug-in PM generator which sends it to your registered players.

I started to sketch up a plan for a forum site like this but with a focus on games found currently in the gameroom.
It would include most of the features you usually find in a discussion forum but with the additions of several tools that would help people play these games.
I have all the stuff at home and I can't recall all the features I would have wanted. But from the top of my head:

    • Private group lairs similar to quicktopic where players could opt to be anonymous.
    • Hosts have moderator tools available for their game thread (delete, edit posts and expel players).
    • Random.org features including role pickers and combat dice.
    • Role template builder and tools for mass sending PMs
    • Automatic voting and tallies
    • AI hosts for basic mafia games
    • Game timers/clocks
    • etc...

Great writeup ATPG and thanks for your hard work in keping this game going! Definitely HoF material (and since its running on both 09 and 10... )

Was a bit unlucky last round, didn't expect to be ambushed in stealth and not make it out due to first strike. Ah well, at least my team didn't go down without a fight

I don't know... It seems we killed each other in the write-up. Care to shed any light on the issue? Something to do with the attack modus perchance?

Meh, those jerks deserved to die, serves them right for chasing me, I had warned them and given them a chance to live, but they chose death instrad. Ah well, it was a fun way to go out atleast.

In retrospect if I had realised how some of the game mechanics actually worked I wouldn't have even bothered putting points into stealth.

    Beastly writeup,

    Loved the music ATPG.

DOn't get discouraged, because with every writeup you seem to grip my attention more and more!

Maybe some day I'll be involved in a last stand firefight with dramatic music and explosions and lasers and pew pew pew and Sigurd

Congrats on all who took down that monster of an assassin, that writeup was great, sorry you died guys who died :P

I admit, stealth isn't working out quite how I wanted it to. Those in stealth seem to be risking an all-or-nothing confrontation. They either get that awesome and all-important first strike, or they fail to get it, get exposed, and probably get very hurt.

It has helped assassins get the first strike on their targets in this game, for sure, but it's also helped those being attacked on more than one occasion.

If I were to do-over this game, I'd give stealth favor over awareness, such that even stealth and awareness favors the stealthy person. Perhaps by a point or two.

Of course, stealth mode just helped a bunch of zombies kill one highly skilled assassin and wound another skilled player.

If anything this should serve to realize that nobody can mess with a large townie group and hope to come out alive. We will hunt you down mercilessly.

    Really, don't even try it.

At least you managed to use your super high combat score to actually kill someone.

Also; Huzzah, that umbrella assassin is dead! I'm going to go dance on your grave!
