You are helping our enemies comrade YLC but this attempt to destroy the heart of our organisation. What is it that you want from the candidates? If only we had Mao here to tell us what to do.

You are quick to point out Beskar's flaws, YLC, but do you not have your own fair share as well?

Comrade YLC seems to be implying that he is perfect. Perhaps he should voluntarily seclude himself for a session of self-criticism?

No, I am not, I want to strengthen us and follow the communist ideals, but it's nice to see a sheep with teeth instead of gums. I want clarity and openness from the Chairman, and voted in members for the officers, not lapdog appointees.

See, this is why I am talking about! SHEEP, SHEEP, SHEEP, SHEEP, SHEEP, SHEEP, SHEEP. MINDLESS FOLLOWER! You immediately find cause to single out and protect Beskar! I accused both, not one! You're a follower and you show it! BOTH candidates are so far unworthy, not just Beskar. They are giving us nothing new, they do not follow the communist doctrine or even show signs of accepting it! You're electing yet another dictator for yourself!

And how dare you imply I am perfect! How dare you imply I want to be elected "Tyrant"!No one is perfect, all are susceptible to corruption, and this is why it is the proletariat, who, as a whole, should lead. Tyranny of the Many, not Tyranny of the One. All you are doing is giving your voice away, and all I am doing is refusing to do so!

I am dangerous because I do not support your self-imposed tyranny?! Is this what this entire detachment is made of?! People like you?!

Who is better suited to lead a battered band of soldiers to safety than a renowned General?

Personally, I liked YLC's post, it was really gutsy and has clearly generated alot of discussion already, and that's never a bad thing in the early stages of a game.

However, there's one little thing that niggled at me:

The four officers are all power roles (detective, doctor, role-blocker, unknown role); by publicly electing them, you're allowing the mafia to know who has been chosen as your aides, thus painting them as a target for murder. Of course, that's if a mafia doesn't manage to infiltrate your officers to begin with.

    Elect: Chairman Hankerchief

This comrade shows great promise my friends. His optimism and good humor will buy us much reprieve in these dark times!

How amusing. I was merely pointing out that it is easy to cast light on the faults of others, but much less so to examine one's own. It is for that very reason that Comrade Mao, in his infinite wisdom, has taught that to actively self-reflect and self-criticize is a revolutionary's most cherished ability, and something all of us, however "human" we may be, should continuously strive to do. Until you said this I'd taken you for a somewhat misguided and arrogant yet well-meaning Communist, but now the cat's out of the bag, eh?

Why did you say Tyrant, even though nothing I said came even close to implying that? Why don't you know the basic tenets of our doctrine? So you want to be "Tyrant", eh? Is that what's brewing in your mind? Well, I just want to warn you now, whether you're a Kuomintang running dog or a riben guizhi zaogao, that your overlords will never let you be "tyrant" of anything; once you have outlived your usefulness to them, they will either dispose of you or reduce you to slavery. If you survive the righteous and indignant vengeance of the people, that is.

    @Secura
The Officers are harder to kill by both the Imperialists and any Vigilantes, thanks to them being accorded more powerful weaponry than the rest of you lot. Also, the roles will be publically known to everyone. If the Chairman wishes, I suppose he could change it so that the Officers are elected, but the default position is that the Chairman picks.

I would also like to point out that I am extremely pleased with the level of RP going on, and I hope this level is sustained.

Comrade Azathoth (OOC: That's funny some how ), I want nothing more then equality, and if communism is that path, then so be it. I say "Tyrant" and "Dictator", because that is what our enemies are - men who would seek to gather all the power to themselves, who would control your thoughts and motives. I've lived an entire life under such men, I will do so no more! If that means opposing others amongst us, so be it - many self-proclaimed liberators became tyrants and kings themselves.

To that end, if all are in disagreeance about electing Officers, then allow us to decide when they go! If an Officer is NOT living up to his duties or the satisfaction of the proletariat, then he should be sacked and replaced, or we all lynch the Officer!

    I don't like this either.

We should apply a more randomness to the election of the chairman. It would be very bad for us, should we elect a Japanese or a nationalist as chairman.
They would want to become chairman and thereby control the pro-town effort.
I therefore suggest Secura as chairman.

    Elect: Secura
    Status Emeritus
