    Default Reputation Points

Sorry if his has already been mentioned, I did search this forum. So, what about them? What are the reasons for not implementing them?

My counter question would be whether there is any point behind implementing them? Such a system would be rife with abuse unless only Moderators could hand them out, and we already have a 3 member and 3 mod structure.

What FactionHeir said - I for one am totally opposed to such a system. What we have at current is satisfactory. I have also read posts at forums where they have such a system condemning them. This has been due to users generating more reputation for spamming, trolling and flaming than posting considerate/constructive information.

    True.

What is this 3 member 3 mod structure? That can't mean a 1:1 ratio of members/ mods can it?

We have Junior Members, Members and Senior Members.

Everybody who registers an account at the Org starts as a Junior Member. If a Junior Members makes a few posts, in the meanwhile following Org rules, he/she gets promoted to Member status (usually within a few weeks).

Senior member is a honorific, used to recognize members' contributions to the overall good of the Org. Promotion to Senior member is decided by staff on a case to case basis.

As for the mod structure, I think Omanes just meant to say that we have 3 "types" of people moderating the forum : assistant moderators, moderators (with the green usernames) and administrators (red usernames).

You can find a list of moderators here.

The "regular members" listed as moderators are people who have certain moderator powers in specific subfora. Most of them are leaders of a mod team (mod as in "modification").

You can find more information about staff organisation and membership in therothers' excellent Guild FAQ.

Unlike some other places, you don't get promoted with how much you post, so please don't spam

I agree. Post quality should be praised instead of quanity. Being a good Orgah is more important than how many posts you have under notched on your sword belt.

Oh, look, my post count went up one point...

Actually in the Watchtower it is +0!

Oh and I think reputation points would be redundant and likely to cause problems. If you're a good Orgah you'll have a good rep so you don't need some points to show people how cool you are.

    My thoughts exactly.

The points might help a new Orgah - assuming the rep points are an accurate reflection of the actual reputation - but they will probably figure out reputations just hanging around for a short while.

    Could these points be negative?

Yes PanzerJaeger, it can. It's also possible to take points away from others and attach labels to levels.

Look at me. I was the Omni-admin once. And that day...When I started browsing Babe Thread...It all started with that ****** thread's opening. I ended up with doing nothing but drooling in the fora. At a certain topic, to be precise.

And here I am. I've been demoted to Assistant Moderator eventually. Thanks to Gregoshi-sensei and KukriKhan-sensei 's "reputable" advices, I was saved from even further action.

Now I'm being cured of my disease in a backroom where people gather to perform demonic rituals.
