Since Beefdom is allowing your inquisitors in, there may be no need for warfare at all. We may as soldiers devote much of our thoughts and energy to war, but it is not out of a love for war... it is out of a love for our people and our way of life. Ah but his country poses no threat to anyone. Standing armies are the only thing that truly matter. His is wounded and on the verge of collapse, but they are still a rogue nation allied to an even worse rogue nation. There is no telling what they would do if they came across undefended territory.

If Reenk is any indication, it will be raping and pillaging. That sort of barbarism is not welcome and I will personally extinguish their blight on this world. Their citizens are not to be harmed, but their armies are dangerous criminals and deserving of justice until they learn the ways of peace and diplomacy. Our fair offer of peace was ignored by them.

All they had to do was declare neutrality and sign a mutual non-aggression pact. It wasn't even a humiliating arrangement, nor was there tribute demanded, nor were they to be made a vassal state, as they should be made into. We simply asked for peace and they have snubbed us.

I recommend you all make special note of where their forces are and prepare yourselves to round up the criminals if they go near you. In the meantime, assuming I have the cooperation of other peaceful kingdoms, I'll take care of the pirates and mercenaries myself.

One would hope that Reenk's head being separated from his Roink would be the one thing we all agree on, but it seems the Areseans gallantly remain allied to him. For that, he has earned my respect as a fellow warrior. His word is worth more than a pinch of salt, apparently. A disappointment that the Cattle God has deemed it necessary we fight to the death, but it will be an honor to face him again in battle.

Would that such iron be coupled with an equal amount of wisdom, such deaths of such brave soldiers need not be necessary.

Here was what I was thinking, these types of game are really great (meaning not really Mafia games but games like TE and NS). I like them more than Mafia games now I think, and not just because of Mafia fatigue.

With that being said, maybe a bit more structure would make things a little easier on the hosts as well as clear up some of the confusion. Like in taka's game where we all had hp and damage dealt. That way, it wasn't so vague who was stronger than who.

And maybe some roles should intentionally be given stronger and weaker armies, and stronger and weaker economies, etc. It would suck for the weaker ones, but no worse than being Mafia or Pro town vs being regular townie. Just part of the draw.

Just throwing some ideas out there, the game as it is certainly is among the finest I've played. :bow:

Agreed. I'm only in it to have fun. After my early power grabbing, alliances, and weakened forces, there is zero chance I will win the game. Eventually people will tire of being my ally and betray me just like every M2tW hotseat game I've ever played. No big whoop. I just want to rp my faction before I die.

I'm enjoying it. Reenk is at least keeping things interesting so I have an enemy to fight. Without him around, I'd look like a total jerk, ganging up on a weaker nation.

I don't think the game is dull at all, white_eyes. If you're not enjoying it... you don't have to play or host. No hard feelings, but you're already dropped out. Now you're assisting the host, but I know Beefy's gotten other offers to help out. It's no big whoop to me or anyone else here who wins. If yoyoma wins the game, good for him, way to stay neutral. Sometimes that's the way to win, so bravo for him.

It's his loss if he doesn't want to join in on the Reenk/Pizza melee or the Beef-Veggie war. :shrug:

I mentioned back in my M2TW days that the most boring way to play, for me anyway, was to sit around, turtling, building my economy. 12 more turns and I get the next tier marketplace. Whoopdee-doo, Basil! Who throws a cupcake, honestly?


If players here, like Yoyoma or Blackadder, prefer to wait on the sidelines and then strike when the iron is hot, good for them! That's the safe way to play! It's the smart way to play! It's the winning way to play!

And when they get too powerful, maybe people will turn on them, or maybe they will just vassal to him, like I offered to do. Who cares it's just a game and the FUN comes from roleplaying, not winning. In fact, woe be upon the foolish person who wins the game. They get the "most cautious player" award, which is like winning a beauty contest between species. Yay you're prettier than an iguana. Congratulations. Wasn't much of a contest.

I read the discussion. And I came to the conclusion.

Firstly like I stated in the role pm our major goal is to be the last one standing. However in last Noble Sons, some gave up winning, trying to let their favourite win. Thats fine. I think the best thing about this game is the rich stories made out of it. The epicness (I'm trying to make it epic anyway) and the joy of watching people do something you haven't thought of doing your self.

This was your game as much as it is mine. That was why I made the discussion thread instead of "Do that, do this"

The system of host making the rail way and players running on it broke on the first Noble Sons when YLC started role playing and I stuffed up seriously for White_eyes.

Now I am not complaining "You should've thought of this before I started the game."

This game has been fun in its own ways. Despite the several major stuff ups I made earlier. Lets end it first then we can all come together to come up with how to make it even better like we did after the first game.

Last thing I want is the game dying, when soo much has happened in this game like Dramas, betrayals, cunningness, loyalities etc. So as long as continuing is what everyone wants, this game will go on.

PS: Flowers were pwetty. But I'm exausted.. My knee hurts.. Again I was amazed by how much energy my Grandma got.

King Beefy was sipping his tea when he noticed two men entering the room, armed to teeth.

Assassins? Well, the Sacred tribes has been pressured a little from the surrounding kingdoms, getting mindless accusations like "Coward!!" but Beefy always enjoyed being called a coward. Because coward meant peaceful and peaceful meant good. Not that he expects other kings to be peaceful.

So anyhow, he turned around with his eyes closed and suddenly went "BAH!!!" to surprise the attackers. Then when he noticed that he havn't been murdered after 2 seconds of silence, he spitted out words quickly so that the murderers will not move for a short while.

"Hey fellas!! You came to kill me didn't you? HAHA!! Thats funny! Coz the trained assassins seems to attack people when they are sleaping instead of in broad day light! So you must be noobies! Bunch of noobies!! NOOBS!! Thats right!! See, you are listning to me.. Bad boys! Assasins should kill ASAP so they don't get emotionally attached with the target and..."

It was the slaves captured during the campeign against the hungry hordes. All holding reprica weapons.. Strapped with explosive belts...They tried to run other way but Phalanx pikemans were blocking that way. Stabbing everyone who dares go that way. When most of them got near the khaan, begging to save their lives, one of the Noisy Reenk survivor fired his cannon at the slaves.

Due to the bravery of the pizza Khaan scouts, they were able to sprain most of the traps.

Reenk put up a good fight as he had all sorts of artillaries. However they weren't able to hold off the mass numbers coming from all directions. Reenk Roinks troop had no idea how... But it seems Pizza Khaan knew the geography of this area very well.

They were able to flank them, surround them and kill them.

With no country of their own to protect, the troops from the Sacred Orders didn't fight with their full strength. Rather when the odds were in their enemies favour, they scattered.

Finally Khanates reached the palace of Reenk Roink. The elite Kung Fu masters guarding the area, killed nearly 10 "Khaans" But it seems, no matter how many they killed, they kept claiming that Khaan was fake and the real khaan is still alive.. By the time they opened Reenks room, even the Khanate troop gave up finding the real Khaan.

So it begun... Jackie Chen, Bruce Lee, Jet Li style fighting. Where whole gang of soldiers heads for the hero.. And then get smashed. Reenkmeistro seemed unstoppable.. However he was only human after all.. After 20 minutes of brusing every challengers... He finally started to shake. Then he was finished off by one of the Swiss Pikemans.

Kingdom of Greater Reenk and Lesser Roink is defeated and the land are now under Khanates control.

Just so that everyone is happy with the outcome.

It is true that keeping Reenk alive where he should've died did make me slightly biased towards Pizza.. But I had other reasons to let Pizza win this.

Now in guerilla warefare, the defender are easily able to fend of the offenders for years and years. Causing mass casualties. It is somewhat true that Reenk only half of what the Khanates used but still thats not how guerilla warfare works.

Reenk used the smart choice by laying traps everywhere etc.. Classic guerilla style battle orders.

Key words that Pizza really needed was "Spring the trap"
Which he did as he clearly ordered to use scouts.

Also by using multiple fake khaans he gave Reenks soldiers some reason to go on offensive... taking a little more risk to kill the "khaan", flipping the odds by killing the leader.

Pizza had two countries involved as Swiss Mongols offered their whole army to the Khanates, and Hungry Hordes them self, making it able to attack from two directions. Also the Pizza ordered to investigate the land scape a couple turns back, which added the bonus even more.

To wrap it up heres the final reason.

And this is the fate of bullies and heretics alike... to be destroyed by good, decent men such as yourselves.

I am sorry it did come to this, we had sincerely hoped he would join us, or that we would be able to bring him unharmed, as I had promised, but sometimes it just isn't possible. If he would not accept such a fate, who am I to argue. It is his free will, just as it is my duty to my people to insure that their borders are safe. If there are elements going around beginning conflicts, well, whose to say it is not these guerrilla warriors?

As for us, our agreement was that our forces be fully integrated, and that you would concern yourself with the cause and demands of all Beefdom.


The armies of these and people of these two nations would cease to function as purely separate entities, as the armies of the Consulate would now fall under the command of the crown of Beefdom (which you would be a part of). And as the consulate's lands and army would fall under the Control of our Crown, so would the concern for it's defense. As well, your safety shall be preserved by a guard composed of the finest troops from throughout our kingdom, including the lands of the consulate. It simply would not be right and fitting for a Queen of Beefdom to favor one region over another, so you would not be able to have a guard composed solely of Consulate troops.

The land of the exiles. Owned by the Kingdom of Aresea- Spring 5BB

After the crime they have comitted, men of White_eyes and their followers were exiled to this distant land. King Yoyoma thought the exiles were no threat in the land with nothing but sand, but after the discoveries of silver mines and various rare metals, Exiles was able to make fortunes out of it.

However, their lives weren't easy. As the land was already occupied with aggressive barbarians, always eagar to snatch a bit of shiny things. Already low in numbers, house of White_eyes had no choice but to go on defensive, fortifying using their technology, and slowly increasing their man... Making alliance treaty with the locals. They were betrayed many times.. But eventually they made a country out of barbarians, rejects... and the noble... yet exiled men of White_eyes.

Of all the forts, the one located on the Mt uppljóstrun, Mountain of Betrayal were by far the oldest.. And the strongest. Their flank are surrounded by mountains, and from the top, they were able to observe the entire land of the exiles. The only entrance is the front entry. To get there, theres only one way. 300 meters up a steep hill. Get passed a 30 meters tall stone wall covered by archers and various artillary. Then infiltrate the main hall which was easily defendable.

The main gate was covered with sharp spikes, stabbing anyone who dares challenges the door.
Inside there is a narrow pathe, filled with pikemans and archers.

(If you can't picture it, think Helms deep from LotR)

The freshly arrived Areseans had difficulties adapting in the tough nature of this land. As some of the men of Aresea were... what others might call "an fish". Many fell as they weren't able to find food or a water with the right tempereture. But they learned to adapt.

Areseans prepared for possible invasions. They stock piled the food... Mainly fishes from the coast, and some half rotten veggitables left by the previous owners. They did not welcome it. But if they had no choice, they would rather fresh veggies then half rotten.

Coast of the exiles land. Spring 5BB

Eventhough they were defeated, Areseans still had one of the best navy in the region. Not to mention, all of their men was capable of diving and act as a navy them selves. The first to spot the invaders was one of the scouts. Being a fish, they were harder to get spotted in a pitch dark.

The ships seemed to be like a trade ships. However it seemed odd that soo many were coming in the same directions. The scout saw the men carrying weapons. This was enough reason for the scout to go back the king and prepare for the possible invasion.

Backbone of the Aresean navies are not its ships. But the fishes who can dive under water and make holes in the hostile transport. Ships were controlled by skilled sailers, able to manuever around and ram into the sie of the enemy. However they were unfortunate.. that the hostiles were led by no soldiers. Rather a suicidal mad men.

Areseans warned the enemy ships to halt, however when they saw the ships ignoring their orders and kept moving, Areseans decided that this is invasion and a threat.

Aresean fleet came out of the port, preparing for the naval battle. It seemed the transport boat was no match against the proper navy fleet in size and speed. Fish soldiers dived down and started punching holes in the front row ships, while Aresean navy judged that they can just ram straight into them and the battle will be over.

However when the Aresean fleet touched the first few ships, huge explosion killed both the ship and the man under the water.. Too late for changing directions. They weren't able to dodge the next lot of suicidal ships. The mighty fleet of the Areseans... was massacred.

However it was the exiles who were going to regret it. As there were hardly any men in the city. Just the arrows raining from the uppljóstrun fort. The exiles stook cover and slowly advanced towards the fort. It was too steep. Not even the heavily armed men of the exiles were able to get through. If only they had those explosive arrows... But they didn't.

They had no choice but to get out of the arrow range. Back to the ships, and join the other invasion crews.

"About time!! Here comes the Honored Helms!!"

The men armed with explosive arrows came off the boat and quickly got into cover.

"Our mission here is surpressing fire while others sabotages the important facility... GO NOW!!"

The explosive arrows was fired near the enemy fort.. Enough to surpress them with sounds and flying hot dusts. Black smoke covered the screen, while the cavalry rode around, torching important enemy facilities. Ports, markets, barracks.

"Our job here is done. Quickly retreat!!"

Technology will range from 1914-2020, and will use the map system similar to the one Noble Sons has now, although much larger and split into regions. It will be able to handle significantly more players and activity levels, and most of the resolutions will be handled through automated checking systems to smooth gameplay and standardize resolutions.

Your country/nation will have it's own numerically established population, with a recruitment pool based on your government type. You will have an economy based on your terrain and it's amount, and trade will heavily influence this. You will also receive income from your resources, which will depend on luck and terrain.

Your armed forces will have a defined number. Your armies equipment will be determined by what you buy for them, so one rich nation may have highly equipped soldiers with FN P90's and HK416's while another is stuck with Gewehr43's and Tommy Guns. There are other, cheaper methods to an army, such as propaganda and training methods. That highly equipped army still needs to know which end the bullets come from :laugh4:

You will have limited Generals, and each general will specialize in certain tactics - obviously, you get to create these Generals. If you lose a General, you must wait X number of turns before getting a new one, where is X is a not yet defined number.

You can improve your people through public works and laws to increase their loyalty and increase your recruitment pools along with your technology, as well as increasing the efficiency of your soldiers. Government types affect this as well.

Cities will represent your established recruitment places and income areas. Cities can be established on a 5 million people per city basis - the more people you have in a city, the greater the benefits but the lower the loyalty. Capturing a city creates a boost in income for the victor, who can then do with the city as he pleases.

Bases and Research Facilities are not displayed on the map, but you can only have a few. Bases are where you can deploy your forces - capturing a base has obvious benefits. Research Facilities are what give you technology - the only obvious benefit so far would be that you gain some, but not all, of your opponent technology and gain tech points to further your own technology.

Tactics will be paramount, and superior tactics will create superior results. This will be handled with a standardized system for resolution. Things such as flanking, rear attacks, surprise attacks, hit and run, etc, will be part of the system.

Just letting you know, such a faction needs to be rich to fund it's high level of technology. You may end up aiming for a trader nation as the way to do this, or just someone who sells his troops as mercenaries for payment.

There are still somethings to Iron out, such as an elected host ATPG and I were talking about - the "UN" Director, who handles peacekeeping (curb those who jump outside the rules or intentionally break them), who gains some massive benefits - but he has to make everyone happy, or they can call for his impeachment and the Council may elect someone else. Since the Director will be impartial (unable to declare wars, conduct espionage, etc), he cannot abuse his knowledge of each other players plans when doing the write ups.

This one will be hard to balance, but I think it adds an interesting element to the game.

Also, I mentioned a Council - this will be a thread for all the players to come together and discuss politics, and even propose general legislation - such as banning all combat capable Tanks for instance, or proposing a ban on certain trade items. Reasons can be entirely up to the players, and it is entirely up to the players to be creative with the process to further their goals.
