I had designed the game so that mostly everyone would have some time before "4377" started raining down on people. Gives you time to find a weapon, an ally, and time to kiss your butt goodbye.

I have completed 10/60 character cards. I am doing them in roughly alphabetical order. If you seem to have been skipped, it doesn't mean I don't like you; it simply means I want to spend more time working on yours.

Yeah but teaming up requires one takes a vulnerable turn to do so, so it would be in ones interest to get armed first, then join a group in progress, as opposed to lumbering around aimlessly and unarmed and in seek coop

There's a bunch of battles and a "cluster" of people or two, and that REALLY makes doing the character cards difficult, for various reasons.

ETA on the writeup is: When I am done the cards. Hopefully will have done 30/60 by midnight tonight.

You didn't reveal that much. However, if everyone in the game revealed what mode they are in (cooperation, stealth, search, assassin mode...) it would grant a basic knowledge of what was going on in the game. And so I can't have that happen.

But, that means I also can't allow any one person to say they're in a certain mode, and have been for several phases... that's also clues.

It's really no big deal, but the rule is basically "radio silence" regarding what you're doing unless you're talking directly to someone near you or via a walkie-talkie.

I am really sorry your character exited the game so quickly, CR. :embarassed:

The thing that held you back was that you only had your starting weapon, which is a decent enough starting weapon (compared to the nothing that most people got), and your orders were to stand your ground and not run. That leaves you vulnerable if your opponent has a better weapon of practically any kind.

I have to believe, with a better weapon (or even better rolls of the dice) you would have won easily.

Remember that CR:bow:....always have an exit plan or your just fighting on the "opponents terms". You want him to fight you where your strong and he is not....and pursing a wounded opponent is just asking for trouble....:no:

As it stands I have like 10 orders in. That's to be expected for the first day.

However, I'd hate to have to proceed with 30 orders, that's basically game-breaking. I won't do that, as El Gigante will simply roam around the city pounding stationary clusters of people, while the zombies and murderers who get their orders in have a field day.

I'd have to extend the phase if I only get half orders. But if I can get 50 orders (that's 1/6th of the player roster inactive :brood: which is still TERRIBLE) then I shall proceed.

I appreciate the thought, but I can't really touch the cards until I know where people are. That affects both the drops and the awareness. Everything, basically.

ok now i see what time it is. While I think peole are definitely taking advantage of the hosts hospitality, such hospitality is certainly warranted in a game with as many players and alliances as this one.

Even past the deadline, I see orders are continuing to come in. Which is fine, even encouraged, as the game is ruined without any orders. But late isn't good.

I'll keep you guys posted on my progress, so you don't have to ask how it is coming. But I have to get to work on the stuff for Phase 6. There will be some sort of light penalty for late orders from here on out... not enough to really be a punishment but more of an incentive to do your talking and get the orders in quickly. If your orders come in past the deadline, you will not be able to use stealth mode, from the time of this post until the game ends. This means you're more likely to be picked off by snipers, serial killers, zombies, or even el gigante. You now should have enough incentive to get orders in ASAP. And I also don't accept late orders once I start doing character cards.

By the way, you can send in orders and change them later! There really is no reason not to send in orders if you're here on the .org and you have a few moments!

That said, I'd better get a move on before I get rightly accused of taking too long to do hosting stuff. :shame:

That El Gigante battle was the most ungodly, complicated mess... I ended up using 6 sheets of paper, because the only way I could keep everything straight is by having all 6 pages side-by-side, which is tough to do on the computer screen.I cannot accept further late orders now.

Those who are killed by the Wrath of Gigante (WOG) are removed from the game entirely, after being thoroughly smashed, crushed, and punished for their inactivity after signing up to my game.

Looks like I misread some people's location... I had them marked down as "l-number" which looks either like a lowercase L or an uppercase I.

What I'd like to ask, in the future to help me avoid this (This is my mistake of course, but I need help apparently) is if people give me both a FROM coordinate and a TO coordinate when moving, it will help me catch when people are attempting to move further than they are allowed to per round, and also help me catch errors involving where people are moving from. Not just a "Move 5 east" or something, because I can screw that up if I read where you were last round incorrectly.

Ah so I'm now redo-ing a half dozen cards or at least adding an addendum to them. Going to take some time to fix and double check, people, sorry.

I feel a little gutted for the Bridge defenders

On a more serious note, it seems that at least we can topple El Gigante with explosions, but other than that weapons seemed rather ineffective against it.
Well, that eye shot seemed to do a tiny bit and those golden bullets were mentioned to harm it as well.
Some things to keep in mind I suppose.

That sniper team roaming the streets also seems to pack a punch judging at how quickly The Stranger went down. I imagine their weaponry might well match EL Gigante.

They hunted him down as he ran and hide before they attacked. Says so in the write up last round. Implies that both The Stranger and his attackers knew about eachother, or that the attackers were really scary, provoking The Stranger to flee. Also first multiple people attack, unlike the rest of the psychotic attackers that acts alone. Doesn't say more than that they don't like Umbrella people though.

There's plenty of info in those writeups. Arnold was probably attacked by the wakizashi attacker, that attacked Arnold a few rounds ago, who have gotten a new weapon or possibly from someone Arnold has previously met, as he recognise the attacker, but not well.

The golden gunner that attacked Ramon last round is probably the same person that attacked the Bridge defenders this round, or we got 2 people with golden guns (might happen). That group got a nasty betrayer obviously and was also large: 5 named, 2 unnamed, 1 bow attacker. That makes 8. And they're probably not all the same people as last round, that counted to 6 (3 flees quickly, 3 takes damage, two of them named).

Mister Scott, Luis and Sam is in the zombie zone, they've gotten almost all zombie attacks.

Something is luring the plague demons.

The random madmen attacks is hard to get together a pattern on though, more than that they're getting upgrades and are several of them.

Everyone is supposed to act as though they are townsfolk, or zombies when they are a zombie. Otherwise you ruin the game. Someone might see you from the shadows and pay you no mind. Spill who you are to everyone, and they would have unfair knowledge. You harm yourself, and the game, if you do so.

It's the lightest and fairest one I can think of. Makes them slightly more vulnerable to danger. Which is a big problem for at least one man.

Because they are removed from the game entirely, and no faction gets credit for their deaths, it's as if they weren't really part of the game. It's unimportant.

Oh, I'm considering it, but...

if it is people who aren't really actually late that often, especially first time offenders, then that's way too harsh. I want people to enjoy the game regardless of RL concerns with the game (oops was busy this week...) kinda stuff. Those who are habitually late I'm just going to stop reminding to get their orders in. When I have 90% player activity, I start moving on calculating the results that round. Then it's a race against time. If they fail to meet activity three times in a row they are gone.

Ephrum is gone this phase. Reenk is next phase. There are others I am eyeing. Gigante is about to get his bloodthirst on.
