Today I decided to rise the number of buildings in each grand campaign to 70 (many of them are entire lines of such structures) which will add around 4-5 new structures per major campaign.
Most of those are pretty unique or give a number of options to explore, almost every single one allows troop recruitment.
Here are some pictures. As you can see the descriptions are a major issue as usual. I might decide to write them while the beta testing is started - I should have more spare time to use while other people toil in PMTW quarry.

Who's the Bandar-e 'Abbas for, Ceg?
cegorach
01-20-2008, 20:03
It is a port built by Abbas I - a very important trade center which will give the Persians some easier and better access to their best troops and loads of money.
seireikhaan
01-21-2008, 01:03
A port, eh? So which of those famous Syrian ports will it be neigbored to? :smartass:
In all seriousness, shouldn't it be limited to coastal provinces, then?
cegorach
01-21-2008, 09:23
No, because it was in Persia - more to the east that Syria - there is no other way to simulae its importance.

Looks fantastic - and richly detailed - as always! Can't wait for the release.

Well obviously, you don't need to insult my intelligence. I was just saying, it would make more logistical sense for it to be limited to a coastal province. But whatever.

I think what Cerogah is shooting for is a 'road' that links Syria with the rest of the Safavid territories, including Bander E Abbas.
Your Lord and Conquerer is working on a Dark Ages mod that uses a larger map that incorporates Persia. It could be used to good effect in this mod if it works in Dark Ages.

Offend ? That was not my intend - I thought you was thinking about access to the Black Sea, Caspian Sea or Mesopotamia - all of them in the possession of Persia for some time.
No other possibility can be considered - the port MUST appear in are which isn't in Ottoman hands whiche xcludes everything except Syria and Armenia, the second is obviously even worse choice than Syria which contacts the edge of the map.
The structure must be available in a starting region of this state.

This mod already has a map which is designed for this period - one, minor faction and one structure is not enough to change that once again.

I have now been playing PMTW 1.5 as England in Religous Turmoil.
This really is a superb mod that gives a whole set of challenges, strategy and tactics which are vastly different from the original game. My England faction has mananged to take over Scotland after a dreadful start that was very similar to the shambolic real Bishops Wars! In fact I had to have help from my Danish allies! I have to keep a large garrison there as they seem prone to revolting though they have gone quiet after I executed the ringleaders of the last revolt.
I have just secured Ireland and took the castle by storm. I am keeping a large garrison there as well as I can see problems early on.
My diplomats have managed to keep Europe quiet and they seem to be bleeding themselves white with varying wars. Again this seems very realistic in view of the damage the Thirty Years War did. :duel: whilst they are doing that I will build my economy, my fleet and my Army. Then who knows....maybe the world!!
Yes...a very worthwhile, well thought out and professionally produced product. Better than many commercial products avaiable today.
Well done:2thumbsup:

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE !
One of my ideas proved to be a success which means that the granades will be BACK !
So now not only the Regimental Cannons, but also some infantry units (after 'dismounted') will throw exploding projectiles.
I am adding a number of such units right now - I am still not sure if those should be available in all campaigns (but from 1648) or only in the Sun King's Ambition (from 1673) - what do you think ?
William Waller
02-09-2008, 22:53
I know grenades were used in the english Civil war. mainly by storming parties at sieges. Thats 1642. So I would go for all campaigns.
cegorach
02-10-2008, 15:28
Yes they were, though it might be difficult to ad them to al campaigns - I have few slots left in each campaign so I will work on that today before I will upgrade the installer (some lousy mistakes showed up already).

I have moved this post - which took me a while - the guide will be clear from any posts except the main content.
At least I am learning more about moderating this way. ;)
Interesting that I see a couple od downloads of the mod every day and only very few posts when I am asking for an opinion.
Fine if the democracy doesn't work I will continue with 'charismatic leadership' (which of course is no dictatorship - the concept is alien to me as a Pole and born republican [/boasting mode off]:inquisitive: ).
RECENT NEWS - I left the case of the error for tomorrow, I feel a day long breal will help my mind to find out-of-the-box solution this problem requires.
The mod reached and crossed most of the borsers the engine in theory imposes on the game and sometimes I find new hardcoded limits.
Hopefully it is not one of those because that would ruin many of my plans and will simply demolish some designs utterly.
I will jump to the game and make some screens so you will see some of the new ideas available in 2.0 today.:egypt:
Other news.
marsal helps me much with adding some features to the Bohemian faction in the Lion campaign.
Regarding the latest Tiberius animation pack I intend to use some of the features in the mod, but I will add those WHILE the tests continue, not before - it is better not to tease the fate any more.

:jawdrop: Very nice, Ceg! I particularly like the Mamluk Khassaki.
Cegorach, I would leave the grenades and regimental cannons up to you since you indicated there are limits to how many units in a scenario or campaign! More great pic's keep up the great work we do appreciate your dedication! :2thumbsup: I known my self right now I'm working 10 hour days for over a year now at least for 5 days during the week and Saturday 4-8 hours most weekends a few times on Sunday. I have BROKEN the limits - at least most of them, so don't worry.
He greatest thing is that the granades and regimental cannons HAVE DIFFERENT RANGE  because they use different PROJECTILE lines.:beam:
I love those regimental cannons because it's great fun to blast holes in pike formations.

cegorach
02-16-2008, 20:20
Any hour or in three days. If all fails I will have to reload some backups...:wall:
The only good thing is that when I am too much frustrated I tend to add new things to the mod which I am sure will not cause such problems.
cegorach
02-17-2008, 20:01
It is going well - that is all I will tell about the beta now. This time I am not going to tell when the test will start untill I am sure everything is fine.
The good thing is that this allowed further improvements which otherwise would be added only in a future patch so not everything is so bad thanks to those errors...
With help of marsal Czech roster (and their office titles) has been improved:
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/AAR/00000002.jpg
two units more than I have designed earlier - the Silesian Reiters and the light infantry called Valasi
.
Those who like Granada will enjoy their improvements. The faction which was bugged in the earlier patched 1.5 will get not even some new options, but an entire generation of 'what if' units developed along to western pike and musket lines.
That was only possible due to help of Mouzafphaerre - an old supporter of this mod (see first few pages) and especially Leet Eriksson who provided realistic names for new units in the army.

.
My unfulfilled promise of providing you names and heroes is still itching me. :embarassed: I want to do it sometime really, yet I'm not ready to renew my promise at this time. :shame:
Fizzil (Leet Eriksson) only deserves the credit; I was just the guy in the middle.

Good news !
The larger obstacles have been annihilated !
For next days I will try to eliminate any other errors I can find and make sure the beta release and install itself are working well.
You will receive those when I feel secure enough to release that to the testers.
The testing must last more than twoo week and because I want to release the mod in the first week of March you will get a nice advantage over ordinary 'customers'.
In the meantime here are the Sun King's Ambition start positions:
Naples was given to the French to recreate short lived Naples Republic under their protection and hopefully it will add to the tension between the Spanish and the French who will face an immininet invasion from the Spanish army in the Papal States.

A minor issue to resolve.
This seems to be the most spiteful little error in the mod.
Honestly I cannot figure out what is causing the thing to appear and I believe I have already checked everything.
You know that from 1.5, but in 2.0 it will be even more visable since a number of castles are IMPOSSIBLE to build (and demolish).
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/THE%20GUIDE%20TO%20PMTW/00000013.jpg
My solution is to eliminate the flags altogether and use only the faction colours for the castles.
Battlefield flags will remain the same of course.
ANY thoughts ?
William Waller
02-21-2008, 23:27
If the best option is to ditch the flags do so. We can tell
the faction from the castle colour.
Thats my view.
macsen rufus
02-22-2008, 14:26
Hi Ceg,
that will be either the castle flag BIFs themselves or the co-ordinates in this section:
//========================================
// Set the faction flag and selector icon hotspot positions for the strategy map castles
//========================================
SetCastleFlagPos:: 84 22 84 22 92 22 96 16 82 16 85 16
SetCastleSelectorPos:: 52 5 52 5 53 11 52 11 52 11 52 11
(this is taken from an Ancient startpos, yours will be different - looks like your x-coordinates are out, but only from the larger models)
These are pairs of co-ordinates for each level of castle, looks like for fort and keep should be okay, but higher ones are skewed.

Hi !
First I want to say I am still alive, though barely...
so is my computer.
This should explain a lot now
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/pulpit.jpg
THANKFULLY I am certain I can retrive all the data I need to release the mod, but this screenshot shows the results of antivirus software fraking (yep - BSG viewer) with internet explorer, Gadu Gadu communicator with a decent part from MSN.
I have just installed Windows XP and Firefox + new antivir software on a brand new HDD.
Obviously I had A LOT OF TIME to think about the mod which means few, noteworthy changes (though WILL NOT require more than a couple of hours I am sure), though without any means to do anything, still the disaster didn't cause too much damage to 2.0 - more to other stuff I need to regain somehow ( a year at best...).
I need a couple of days now - it was some really bad time t me, but it should be over at least when it comes to modding/computer part of my life.
I must apologise I didn't post anything, but I REALLY vanished from this plane for the time and I didn't want to resemble a crying wolf ( ?? is the expression correct BTW) destroying the pitiful remnannts of my modding reputation.
A report about the progress tomorrow or on Thurstday
Glad to see you back and in one piece. I understood, but I think meant to say is you didn't want to, "cry wolf"
It comes from a bed time story about a boy who was watching a flock of sheep. It was his job to sound the alarm if he saw a wolf, which he did a few times just for fun. :laugh4: As the story goes, when a wolf did show up no one came because they thought it was a joke. As a result, the boy became the wolf's main entre. :skull: So the expression goes, you should never "Cry Wolf."
So much for trivia. If I could speak Polish as well as you speak English I'd consider myself fortunate.
Rick
Hi Cegorach
Great news that you are back - and damage to 2.0 not too great. A lot of people have been worried about you and the Mod :inquisitive: My son texted from holiday in Egypt to ask if you had been sighted :egypt: The Egyptians have now been informed.
cegorach
04-15-2008, 18:28
@Western
Just don't ask me about my mailbox - it will take ages to respond to all e-mails...
@Rick
I believe the story comes from Greek fairy tales and is known in the whole Europe.
I was more curious about the correct form of that in English, because I only remember it from Star Trek DS9 episode Improbable Cause if I am not wrong - my phrasebook broke down (on my PC...) and I was too lazy too search elsewhere.
About languages. I really must improve my skills, besides my sister is getting ahead of me with three foreign languages ( English, Spanish, Basque - all fluently) to my above avarage English and basic German and Russian, but soon I will take the "pole position" again when I take Japanese and Ukrainian a little more seriously than now.
OK. Here is the second phase of the recovery
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/NowyObraz-mapabitowa.jpg
Data is successfully retrieved - apparently rather intact, but still no sound and video or animation working ( DirectSound & Direct 3D errors).
At least the 'immortal' Paint is working now and believe me it was a problem only yesterday...
cegorach
04-15-2008, 22:00
Another phase is finished.
I have managed to run the mod and made some screenshots from the additions I have added before the computer decided to take a break.
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/sforza.jpg
One of several latest historical heroes added to the mod - the ruthless regent, but de facto ruler of Milan.
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/gewal.jpg
The ultimate Swiss unit in the game, virtually impossible to break.
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/confederacy.jpg
A quick look at the latest ( in fact more than a mont old) concept in the game - I was thnking about adding more such structures showing various political changes during the entire period. In game terms they generate income, add some office titles and allow recruitment of more advanced units, though sometimes those advantages can be lost - when a faction enters a period of civil war or other turmoil.
For now only the Swiss and the Georgians get such structures, more might appear in the future, but for now I want to release the mod as soon as possible.
But right now I will take a break and go to sleep, it was a hard day for sure.:dizzy2:

I've actually cut myself while changing the HDD - so I can say I have shed blood for the good of the mod (even if it was only me who lost it) or frankly let's not be too modest - for the good of the whole mankind.:laugh4:
Hopefully the blood sacrifice will help a bit - computers are a bit a mystery to me , but I am not ging to chant while turning it off and on in WH40k technomagi style. At least not untill I am a bit more desperate.:juggle2:

Hi,
I`m enjoying playing The Knights in Age of Exploration and they are really great. But can anybody tell me what buildings I need to build a Tertio? It wasnt a prob an my Homeprovince Rhodos, but on other Provinces I have no Idea what building I need.
I`m playing pmtx for some time now and its pretty good. Is there any progress with 2.o so far? What i think would really great would be if that smoke line of fire from some of the Horse Archers added to the regimental cannons. I think regimental cannons shoot some kind of grenade and so it would looke good if these grenades would leave a line of smoke in the air, if you know what i mean. Sorry, i cant describe better what i mean.

Eeeek! That's not good!
I've had some problems playing as Georgia. Their units rock, but it doesn't seem to be possible to recruit more of their elite cavalry (the elite mkhedrebi). It says they require horse breeder's guild and national assembly, but Georgia can't build national assembly. Is there some way of fixing this?!

The screenshot thread is sticky now. It is open as well so you can post screenshots you like to show.:book:
A poll has been started, I am not sure what to do and it could help me with the decision.
I forgot the reason you stopped the Pike & Musket - Total War project. Is it something you'll be doing in the future, or is the RTW environment too restrictive?
cegorach
12-08-2009, 18:10
Way too restrictive.
Ironically MTW VI allws the most from the entire TW series, to some degree because the creators didn't expect some ideas.
Enoug to mention cloned/mirrored units, 'dismounting' infantry or infantry with true mounts which allow adding the dragoons of all sorts.
The last two possibilities seem most important to me. I am more and more convinced that mounted infantry is the single underrated superweapon from this period exceptionally important to understand the difference between warfare in the West and in central-eastern Europe.
Not to mention the possibilities it gives me.
Finally the AI is still able to use most of those improvements, even the warwagons (although this one rather poorly) which together wih crowds of enemies waiting to kill you everywhere makes the game a bit more challenging. :book:
Is there any way I can make it possible to recruit the elite mkhedrebi while playing as Georgia? It says that a National Gathering is a prerequisite, but I have found that Georgia can't ever build a National Gathering. Can I change anything?

Phew, nice to see the ORG accessible for a change... I've experienced database errors, unpredictable crashes and other 'fun stuff' for almost the entire week before the Christmas. Simply awful.
@Sarissofoi
Thank you!
I am aming to have it ready to play in February. There might be some open or closed beta testing before the public release.
Much depends on progress made with new animations - some of them are too precious to be abandoned.
It is a hard and boring work to replace pinks with greens and to extract and place the animations where they are supposed to be, but worth the effort.
If anything P&M 2.0 is supposed to be twice as good as patched P&M 1.5.

It will be great honor and pleasure to take part in betatest for me. Then if you need one more I am here ready.
BTW Any chance to see dead bodies in new version?
If I remember correctly someone on formum TWC make a file with dead bodies. Non for all units but better than none. Any cance to see something like that?
cegorach
01-07-2010, 10:28
If there will be any dead bodies it will be repared only for one campaign. Simply there are over 10 different unit files (4 campaigns, each with MP version so 8 + historical battle file + ECW and Armada = 10) at the moment.
Because I am inclined to have two installs this time it might be possible to add two such files + a separate one for ECW/Armada. We will see.
I should produce something worth showing in the next week. Back to work...

I think there will be a small release before the main one i.e. 2.0.
I'd like to test some ideas in practice for some time before beta testing.
The minor improvement pack would include reworked historical battles (I have some new data, much more detailed than earlier) + perhaps one or two new animations and new music (I have almost prepared an Orthodox music set so it might be relased separately just like pack nr 1 available now).
Other than that it won't be much different so not too impressive, but it shouldn't affect your campaign saves in any way.
I will try to post it in time of one week - depends how long it takes to convert those blasted animations from CivIII.:juggle2:

Greetings.
This is great news to hear that you continue your work with this mod.
This is indeed good news.
But if I cn speak honest(and I will speak) I see many other things that need be fixed than animation. New unit animations is last thing that come to my mind.
If you asked me(you dont ask but details like that never bother me) things that are needed more that will be description for units and biuldings. Some dont have any and this hurt both gamepley and fun.
Aso I see that you are proud from tons of unit and nations but this isnt work well for AI. Especially that AI dont retrain and reform their army. And some nations cant even train their national units(like german infrantry for german minor nations).
Anyway good news to hear.
Good Luck and Godspeed.

I realise there are several problems, though AI is always a bit unreliable. The most certain thing which affects its decisions is the valour bonus. That is why dividing the next release into two installs - one for earlier period and another for later centuries should ensure AI choices will be a little more interesting.
When it comes to te descriptions - I certainly agree. English is not my native language so I might struggle with that for some time, but from experience I can say it could take as little as three days of writing to finish them all.
At least more important structures and units will receive them for sure.
When it comes to other news I've just found more detailed description of some very interesting battles during the Italian Wars between France and the Habsburgs (among other sides) - can add some diversity to the boring Polish-centred part of the mod. ;)
I will try to prepare a number of these during the weekend.

It was never released, but OF COURSE I have it in working condition on my HDD and using it right now to implement new thing and correct old mistakes.
I'd better return to preparing those historical battles. Very exhausting...

Greetings again Cegorach.
Thx for reply.
You still have this treasure? And you dont want to share?
Ah that is so evil!!!!
:wall:
My heart is burning from desire for this mod.
I even buy another graphic card to play this.
Yes thx again cegorach for fun but you know that I know that you have something better and you know now that this kills me.
:laugh4:
Actually I have some time, some knowlegde and even some awesome hacking skills(okey meyby I dont have but I can catch up fast) and I offer some help to you and this project.
I can do some work with descriptions but its waste of time to doing this on 1.5 version becoze I dont know what you change in 2.0.(I think I know how to do it.).
But ofcourse i will need 2.0(yeah this is my chance) version and some your help.
I know that you prefer work alone but this should make your work lighter and you know meyby I can give you some new idea(not very high chance but still).
Anyway choice is your.
BTW Do you know how to edit and change Vices and Virtues?
I think about remodeling this but I lack knowledge to do it(and I dont find filr with this either).
If you can share your knowledge with me thank you very much.
Good Luck and Godspeed.

It is in working condition, but not in releasable condition. A smal part is not ready, but an important part which is also time consuming.
I've reactivated my presence here to finish the project.
2.0 is supposed to be TWICE as good as patched 1.5., but hopefully will be much better.
My heart is burning from desire for this mod.

Yes thx again cegorach for fun but you know that I know that you have something better and you know now that this kills me.
:laugh4:
Yes, I have it, but after fighitng two dozen of custom battles one after another just to see if a certain unit beheaves as supposed to...
Believe me that is a killer.
I can do some work with descriptions but its waste of time to doing this on 1.5 version becoze I dont know what you change in 2.0.(I think I know how to do it.).

If you are able to prepare a map for a historical battle and provide all the necessary backgroud that might be a start. This is a think which can be added VERY easily and leaves a recognisable footprint in the mod.
Descriptions are another thing, but take time and sometimes are written in a way to help a player.
If you want you can write some for a country you enjoy the most. Almost all units existing in 1.5 are still here and I was rather writing descriptions for NEW units rather than for those which are already in patched 1.5.
Descriptions are placed inside file - DESCRIPTIONS in folder
Medieval - Total War\Loc\Eng
You can easily add a description, save it and test that in game. Descriptions cannot be too long because only a couple of lines is desplayed correctly.
Anyway choice is your.
BTW Do you know how to edit and change Vices and Virtues?
Names can be changed, but not the qualities. Unfortunatelly.
I think about remodeling this but I lack knowledge to do it(and I dont find filr with this either).
If you can share your knowledge with me thank you very much.
Good Luck and Godspeed.
It is almost arcane knowledge. many things are never described and numerous others I discovered on my own.
Just (for now) try doing something with the descriptions - easy and rewarding and historical battles - time consuming, but even more rewarding.
For the second the most important thing is a good idea and finding a battle which is a challenge.
The best thing is that in 2.0. I can ADD new units available ONLY in historical battles without affecting anything else in the game.
So as long as there are animations which can be used to represent a unit it can appear.
BTW I wonder if you ever tried the Multiplayer package. A separate install for that of course, but it gives some other options to explore.
In 2.0 some of MP only units will be present also in campaign so there are descriptios which can be added there as well.

In my opinion the best way people contributed in the past was by providing critical rewievs and research results, especially about their own countries.
Since I am not a native speaker in, say, Georgian I wouldn't ever been able to add so much about this country.
I guess you can try something with your country - unless it is not in the game, of course.

I see no reason why not.
Descriptions and historical battles (that includes also MAP MAKING with the editor) are the easiest ways.
I am opening a separate thread for unit descriptions you might all want to write.
I will post names of some of many units which will appear in the mod.

I've just acquired over 300 music tracks for Orthodox factions music pack.
I am trying to make it as good as possible, but I am certain it will be ready to the end of the week. It will be released in such a way that you will be able to use it in your patched 1.5 PMTW.
Frankly I always enjoyed Orthodox choirs. :)

In addition I am working on a Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth music pack.
Sample - a Lithuanian song I received some time ago, prety decent for a battle track.
http://w397.wrzuta.pl/audio/58GC5xP1zxS/track1
Because of multinational and multiconfessional situation of the Commowealth I will attempt to use not only Polish, but also Lithuanian, Jewish, Belorussian etc music as long as it suits the purpose of this game.
If you have proposals just post links.

I was wrong. I will be ready much earlier.
Tracks are converted and should work fine (I woke up at 5.50 a.m to be sure). I will upload it at work.
There are just 11 tracks overall, but were chosen from over 300 so please be lenient. ;)

All right here it goes:
http://rapidshare.com/files/360556640/PMTW_Orthodox_Music_pack.rar
It is larger than before because Rapidshare allows upload of larger files.
Just extract the files to your MTW VI. This time there is no selfinstaller mostly because the pack will be obsolate when the 2.0 is available.
In addiiton I hope to expand it because there can be up to 6 tracks per each phase - the beginning, movement and the battle itself.
Victory and defeat music doesn't require anything new..
The package is built on Russian and Georgian music with two odd additions (e.g. one Greek track for battle) and those factions (+Montenegro) will use it. Balcan orthodox countries will be given a different music package.
I think I should add a couple of words about the music in the MTW.
There can be 6 different music settings. 5 are currently occupied:
0 for Arabic,
1 for European,
2 for Viking,
3 for Tartar/Mongol
and 4 for Orthodox.
One entry is unoccupied. I will use it for Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Balcan states including Hungary, Moldavia and Wallachia.
Now, what can be done?
I am planning to expand the European set which will be used by western Europe, especially catholic nations. Viking set can be expanded as well - currently used by Denmark and Sweden could be expanded and applied to all protestant factions.
Tartar set is ok, so is the Arabic, though might be expanded if there are any interesting proposals from YOUR side Dear User.
Orthodox set is ok, but more battle tracks would be great.
The last set is a challenge, but should be interesting to use some Hungarian, Romanian and other music.
Again if you think you can contribute something don't hesistate. There is enough space to add more music, especially shorter tracks.
This is another way you can leave your footprint contributing to the project. Possibly the easiest.

One of problems faced in the mod is that the number of provinces is not infinite, worse it is relatively small so some events cannot be recreated properly.
Unification of Germany or Italy, although difficult is possible - you just need to defeat 6-12 countries and it is done. Civil wars in France or in other, larger countries also can be implemented, but smaller states are in less favourable situation.
You've seen the ideas for Switzerland recreating somehow expansion of the cantonal state and various events in its history. Colonial adventures are also here, in a way. The last country which should see some improvements is Georgia - unification of the country should bring some benefits for sure and since there is only one area called Georgia there is only one choice.
Here it goes:
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/vepxistqaosani.jpg
The Knight in the Panther's Skin or Vepkhist'q'aosani is a famous epic poem which starts here a line of improvements leading to full unification of glorious Georgia. That should open some options for example making certain units available.
Sadly events cannot be implemented in the game so I had to improvise.

THis thread -

But if there will be something new to release I will post it. I've just transferred to my new computer and I bought a couple of books about 30 Years War and Scottish army so it is far from dead. Quite the opposite - after all Orthodox music pack is the downloadable upgrade which was released recently.

There will be some, small changes in the factions available in certain scenarios. One thing for certain - Scotland disappears from Lion of the North and is replaced by something new, something with this flag:
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/nowafrakcja.jpg
the list of the factions currently looks like this:
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/frakcje-rzutnaliste.jpg
Since two installs are planned - one for earlier period, one for later - I might still use some slots to add something, but the main idea was to save some unit and animations slots and adding new scenarios will delay any release so factions might stay just this way as shown above.

Reading latest book by Witold Biernacki (excellent source about 30 YW) I am thinking about one, major change in units' statistics.
I believe that pikemen in the game are not prepared the way they should so I will most likely reduce mobility of musketeer units with exception of light infantry and forlorn hope type of units.
Musketeers and pikemen should form large battlefield formations supposed to support each other and I am going to rethink certain ideas in the mod hopefully bringing the full value and strenght of tertios, dutch and swedish brigades.
There is plenty of sources which deal with the subject and I have several of them - it looks like the perception of Spanish tertios is changing among historians dealing with this subject.
I will run a could of simulated battles with new statistics after I design simple, yet complete system to include all types of infantry in the game. Each of them must still retain some value and remain unique in some aspects.
Most likely it will be something along those lines:
- relatively slow, but strong tertios with high morale,
- faster moving, but more vulnerable Dutch brigade,
- as fast as Dutch, but with better firepower - Swedish brigade,
- faster then earlier model and with better firepower, but weaker in h-t-h combat - late Tertio,
- relatively fast and with decent firepower, but weaker morale and no pikemen - Haiduk type infantry,
- good firepower, some bonus against cavalry, but with flaws - infantry with berdishes,
- good firepower, fast moving, but with weaker morale and little protection vs. cavalry - light infantry and most of muslim infantry types,

I am currently starting my new bussiness so my attention is a wee bit occupied.
Nevertheless I am starting reworking exisiting historical battles this week using most recent data I received in latest months and days.
For example this great study about the battle at Klushino -
http://www.wanax.pl/index.php?p1152,kluszyn-1610-rozwazania-o-bitwie
a work of a befriended historian Radosław Sikora.
Actually there's been a minor flood of new books about the subject of XVI-XVII century warfare in recent weeks and I have almost all of them. :dizzy2:
I have more data about German armies, Scottish one and local troops in Bohemia.
I'd like to start releasing independent packs which would be possible to apply to 1.5 PMTW to test them while I am working on other improvements.
This way there might be no 'true' betatesting, but the new imrvements would be downloaded and tested by players while the project is continued.
Quite cunning, isn't it?:laugh4:
Okej, good luck with your new business! I will regularly come here to see if those independent packs have appeared :) Looking forward to it.
Books are nice, aren't they!? :P Expecially historical ones. Anf it is amazing how much information you gather.
However, good luck!

It takes a little longer to start a new enterprise these days, but I am almost done with the majority of work.
In a week I am resuming work on this mod.
As promised revisited historical battles will be first - over time I've accumulated much data about the subject and the current setup is horribly outdated.
Is there any chance to see new version of this mod before new year? Maybe beta or something? My new/old PC is ready and waiting.
P.S. It was a time when I was playing this mod at work on pentium MMX 233MHz, 128MB RAM, 16MB voodoo3 2000 and win98. Aaaaach.. good old days. I still have my precious voodoo3. There is no better graphic for old games!
I am afraid the mod leaders have not logged in recently, so I doubt they are still working project. Check out the mod discussion (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?119-Mod-Discussion) and hosted mod forums for other completed and WIP mods.
