Yeah, that and water. You can do Powerade alone, but combining it with water hydrates you a lot more. Once you're feeling better, a big ol' mess of eggs is a great breakfast.

You know what I love about being a bit drunk? You can take pride in sucessfully accomplishing basic activities. I did my duty and got a friend of mine a bit lit up on his 28th birthday and then I made it home. Now, when sober this is a mundane event, but having handicapped myself, I'm quite proud of the fact that I paid for my birthday boy's drinks, cycled home without incident, bought Ben and Jerry's and cigs on the way back at a Store 24 and made relative sense while doing it. All accomplished without incarceration or fatality.

Yay me, I'm going to regret it later, but for now I am a golden god. Woot.

Work and real life is really cutting into my drinking and gaming time. And now I think this place where I rent a room as an office from an old comrade is not as secure as I once thought because he now has some weasley homeless family member who is sleeping on the couch and even though he has a job he never seems to have money which leads to to assume he is a crack head. My house is too far from where I work so this place is my go-between, I can't leave my files and equipment and my LIQUOR here if its not secure. Someone came in my office and drank my Makers Mark......it was the only thing I was looking forward to after a week on the road living in motels and now theres not even enough to get me drunk......

Oh dear ... just coming home from the "interwhisky" whisky fair here in Frankfurt

Tried pretty much the whole product range of the Ardbeg distilleryn ... most of it cask strength ... one whisky is called "supernova" ... name is pretty justified ...

also joined a "seminar" (yeah, sure) on Irish whisky with some tasting ... the connemara was pretty OK, but Ardbeg still is the gold standard.

Did you know that some of our favourite liquors are produced here and then shipped back to America and Europe? .... For example, look for "PT Multi Bintang Indonesia" - members of the Heineken Group, they made several quantity of Heineken and Guiness, then ship them back to Europe... The Jack Daniels, as well as several other hard liquors are actually produced here too (and then shipped back with no label to their licensing country and only get labelled there.... :laugh4:) - Don't be surprised if you found alcoholic drinks is a considerably cheap things here, despite we got a lot of muslims who want to get rid of alcoholic Breweries, we didn't shut the brewery down because they generate sizeable ammount of taxes and tariffs! :2thumbsup: - NOTE: Don't include Bali, tourist destination always had ridiculously exspensive prices...

I've try to made Chineese rice wine before, but for somewhat reason, the taste was soo sour and awful, and I end up throwing them out. I think something comes from fruits are easier to get better taste.

My friend and I drank an entire handle of Wild Turkey last night, yet I feel like a hundred dollars right now. Going away with friends is very fun. I went away with mates before Christmas. We made a beer train out of empty bottles. It reached two bottles wide and 3.5 metres long after 3 days. My liver hates me as a result. :embarassed:

Depends a fair amount on the strain. I had a blueberry strain the other-day, not only did it taste amazing, but it was very mellow. Other strains make me quite jittery and active, while some make me fall straight to sleep. Depends on the quality and type mostly.

The yeast will need to be pretty good to get the proper alcohol levels, if you can't find yeast made especially for mead, you can use champagne yeast. Do you want it sweet, or dry?

When I last made mead, I used 15 lbs (~6.8 kg) of honey for a 5 US gallon (~19 liter) batch. I boiled the honey in 2 gallons of water for 10-15 minutes to sterilize it, filtered it into the fermenter and added the rest of the water. Let it cool, then add the yeast and nutrients. I may have used a clarifier (probably irish moss) at the boiling stage, can't remember. If you are going to add fruit, do it for the last few minutes of the boil. I let it ferment for about a week, then racked it to a another fermenter (to get rid of the gunge at the bottom) and let it sit for a month before bottling. Came out pretty smooth, but dry. I think I got around 14% on it. If you want sweet, you will want a lower alcohol level, the yeast choice can do this for you.
