Hm . . . I see I'm the only (almost) attorney. 24 year old Puerto-Rican/American living in the arctic tundra we call Illinois until I finish law school in May and I get to go back to warm, sunny Los Angeles. I'm trying to angle myself into urban planning, but that's in the air. I've been playing RTS since AOE II. Became fascinated with history in my teens and have since been a macro-history buff. I've never cared for dates or people, but trends and huge movements. Studied Sociology in college and read a lot of military history, philosophy, and political treatises in my spare time.

Bah no fair. Law school here is like a master's or PhD. Not an undergraduate degree. You barristers...

Well, I'm in my last bachelor year.
So, next year I start my first year of the master's degree.

I'm planning to do at least one master after master too.

Edit : the difference between barristers and attorneys only exists in common law countries, so you can't compare it with that.

I´ve tried the Macedonian and Turkish kinds of raki, don't know if there is a difference, though i must say i do not like them very much. ouzo is definitely better. Lived in Turkey and Macedonia, or FYROM if you prefer, for about half my life and recentley spent 2 months on the greek side of Cyprus, and countless small holidays in Thessaloniki, but never tried Tsikoudia, will definitely see if i can find it next time i´m down in those parts of the world, though I prefer some fine herb over most drinks.

I registered a while ago, but haven't been very active, mostly because if there is something interesting to read on the forum, it´s usually nothing I know a great deal about, so no use of posting, or something I do know something about, and thus boring. Mostly the first (which is why I spend a great deal of time browsing this forum)
So I guess it turns out I know of most members here, but you don´t know me since I never really properly introduced myself. I know you, you don't know me, creepy eh?
Anyway, I´m 22, Swedish, and currently living in the south of Sweden, trying to finish a bachelor in history.
After half a year of wasting my life on WoW I decided to get something else to waste my life on. That turned out to be EB and oh boy is it worthy of wasting your life on.
Though unfortunately for me I do not have that much time to waste any more, due to workload and school.
What got me interested in EB was ofc the claim for historical accuracy but also the trait system, which is still the reason why I always go back to EB over other mods. I must confess I prefer the period of the fall of the Roman empire (don´t hit me!) which is why I love this mod, since I learn something new in a very easy and relaxing way, my knowledge in 272 BC has radically improved since I first stumbled on this mod:
Actually EBs representation of Pahlava inspired me into learning more about their history and helped me choose my subject for my bachelor essay! Which is about the biggest compliment I can give to the EB team.

    Now thats enough from me!

I see. Greek Macedonia produces some good quality Tsipouro as well (I got terribly drunk from it this year). You should try Tsikoudia, don't have to come over to Crete per se, except if you're into traditional stuff. Then you should consider visiting local villages, where the inhabitants are very welcoming to foreigners and usually offer them house-made things, Tsikoudia being one of the standard ones. Just one thing: Don't try to refuse anything given to you by Cretans, as they're easily offended and all of them carry WWII rifles and pistols (from the Germanic assault of Crete) with them

Drink alcoholic beverages, after all is good when you know enough is enough, drink a lot of it and you will

In my campus, the best alcoholic beverages our students had invent is a glass of vodka (250 ml), mixed with 2 glass of pepsi blue and 1 glass of lemon juice is the best after all, try it sometimes...

Unfortunately, technology (in weapon warfare) has evolved considerably since that time They still remain very good in the use of long-range weapons, mind you

If I ever go to Greece, which I will have to at some point for the bucket loads of history, I have to try some of your alcohol like ouzo and all the other names!

Meanwhile if you come to England I can give you beer, beer, a bit more beer, some whiskey and gin and bourbon. And then soft drinks mixed with vodka. Irn Bru and Vodka FTW! closely followed by cointreau.
Do you find something funny with the name Biggus Dickus?

My childhood fascination with war emerged into a more academic study of history by the time I was 12 or so. I was a D student in high school (with the exception of social studies and debate) but a perfect ACT score ensured me a slot in my state's university system. In high school I smelled like piss and dressed in rags because I was a typical welfare brat whose mom spent the check on drugs. I was unpopular, except that me sheer size (6'8") meant that I was a useful talent on the basketball court. My black market connections allowed me to become popular by throwing parties. In college I continued to throw parties, and I made extra money by writing papers for rich kids. I planned on going to law school, but my grades suffered because of my excessive social life. Ultimately, the only classes that could get me up in the morning were history classes. I graduated with a BA in 2001. My postgraduate career included stints in the military, Law enforcement, and graduate school.

Today I teach history in one of the worst high schools in America. We are burdened with a 66% dropout rate and high levels of pregnancy, suicide, substance abuse (huffing) and gang violence. The cultural and geographic isolation (2 hours drive to any town) means that most teachers and administrators only last a year at this school (80% staff turnover). This is my third year. The region is desperately poor and is primarily composed of high, cold desert. Only 2% of my students can be expected to graduate from college. Hopefully I can teach my students enough about the world in general that they will at least be able to make informed decisions about our country's future. Education saved me from a life of poverty, and I hope that it can do the same for some of my own students.

I have a wife and an adorable daughter who does not smell like piss. I also coach one Arizona's top rated high school basketball teams, and if I can keep all of my players eligible, we might become the first public school in more than a decade to win a championship (typically only private schools can win this). Since I live in an isolated environment, I have plenty of free time to play elaborate video games, and EB is definitely one of my favorites. I still study history, and even with a degree in the topic I have learned a lot from EB (about Baktria/Parthia). I guess that I am the typical EB player...
I applaud you, good sir, for what you're doing; seeing as I used to live at the edge of Dine'tah myself. (Flagstaff, AZ). Keep up the good work :-)

    And as for myself--

I'm a 24 year old history major and religious studies minor, currently in Cottonwood, Arizona. I focused mostly on Byzantine History, though I do have a fascination for the Hellenistic Period which is covered by EB, and I've been playing it since 0.7. I also fence when I have the time (Saber is my preferred weapon of choice--and should give you an idea of my personality)

I'm right now taking a hiatus from school, working at Montezuma Castle National Monument as a gift shop peon (eh, it pays some of the bills), but when I return to school, it will be to a seminary where I will be eventually ordained as an Orthodox Priest (unsure of which diocese, and the situation of Orthodoxy in America is so ridiculously disorganized now that it practically disgusts me. There is far too much factionalism--I may even go overseas to study.)

I am graduated in History and i appreciate your work. I am following the mod grow up may be since the begining, but only in spaniard forums.
"This war between the Romans and Celtiberians is called the fiery War, for while wars in Greece or Asia are settled with one or two pitched battles, the battles there dragged on, only brought to a temporary end by the darkness of the night. Both sides refused to let their courage flag or their bodies tire". Polybius.

I just loved vanilla and heard that EB was a good mod, so I tired it and it sparked my interest in the classical era and military history, thank you EB for introducing me to such an interesting and inticate time in history, here, have a balloon
If Vanilla was a toilet, it'd be clean

Just thinking about extending the EB timeline far into 200 AD, not only 14 AD... add some BI churchs... and made Koinon Hellenon, instead of Romans... a christian-torturer... they didn't throw them into lions in amphitheatres... but instead force the poor christians to sit in the class and listen to their vogon poetry...

I'm a 21 year old living in that great expanse of New York that doesn't associate itself with the city proper. I hail from the chemically polluted shores near Rochester, and am a third year Archaeological Studies Major at a university about five hours away from my hometown. I've always had a passion for history, and a love of strategy games. Never have the two been wed so beautifully as in EB.

So keep up the good work.

Well, a 41-year old former Rugger* (an oddity in the US), former skydiver, and still downhill skiier when I can. The climate and terrain in my current locale (south of Houston is hot, flat and swampy) mean I have to travel to ski, but I'm working on that. . .
I've played all the TW games and I accidentally found EB while surfing for some way to "punch-up" my TW experience. I actually found EB the day after 1.0 was released!
I used to think mods were fan-boy attempts to make their favorite {anything} play the way they want it to (invincible Romans, etc.). On this count, I was dead wrong.

*I've only given up the first 2 halves of the rugby match. I still enjoy the third half (pub).
