Its not that simple, I need to actually have an effect for the item I choose and well the Chinese aren't exactly willing to dole out the a grade stuff to trading partners.

If you want allies, then who better to talk to then the UK? especially if you want help against any pesky spies, we can guarantee you wont have many sabotage attempts when we are helping you out.

Seriously though I realy am going to need suggestions as I only have a faint idea on what the capabilities of turkey is now let alone in 1980. I'm not too happy about japan either but I'm not doing that again.

well uhhh, they had a lot of wheat.... thats pretty much all I got. I never paid much attention to turkey....

you could probably add how the USA has a lot of missiles and troops in trukey during the cold war (in case the Russians ever attacked) although I don't know for sure.

Not sure if it helps but Turkey's economy liberalized quite a bit in the '80s. Maybe something about economic growth?
