Pigs are assumed to eat their crap. Strangulation is forbidden because blood stands for life, when the animal is dead it's still full of blood.

Unfortunately, I tried every place imaginable before I took this job, and was not successful. My friend said that she put in a good word for me at a foundry, but nothing came of that. The job market where I live is pretty competitive now, and this late into summer, I would never be able to find a job. I have thought about quitting, but I need the job, and at least when I am there, I do my best to treat people's food well. If I quit, they would probably just hire someone who did not give a crap.
Oh, and it turns out that the store manager does know. I was put on backline yesterday, and I deliberately asked my backline trainer if I should throw out a platter of turkey that had expired, and she explained to me that she talked with the store manager, and if the store manager sees her signature on the food in the morning, she will let it pass. So I guess it is not just one person.

I think the reason both Judaism and Islam forbid pork is due to the desert origins of the religions, as keeping large numbers of pigs wasn't sustainable in their ecosystem since their diet is so different from other livestock.

Also, according to wikipedia, the Jewish aversion to Pork probably existed before it was forbidden by the law, and the negative viewing of meats can become a cultural thing. Found a page that suggests its closer to home than I realised. <---- another link, why don't they show up

Ahem, "That's what she said..." I wonder if the store manager, in fact, really knows. You are in a very difficult situation Vuk. I wish you well in your quest to keep your job and clean up the restaurant as best you can.

I wonder what the penalty is for the individuals (manager/supervisors) if caught?

A fine. Expiring dates tend be overcautious though. If meat is one or two days overdue it's really still perfectly eatable as long as you keep it in the fridge.

And what about the food dropped on the floor? The wilting/browning lettuce? This Arby's is disgusting. I hope those responsible get caught.

Vuk, I gather the employees go elsewhere to eat lunch?

One is 65, the other ones I do not know the ages of, but they are all overweight, and three are grandmothers. I don't know Megas, is that hot? :P There is actually only one young female employee, and she is both pregnant, and insane trailer trash. :P

lol, I don't think that any of them eat at Arby's. My backline trainer (who also works at McDonalds) says that she would not eat food from Arby's or the McDonalds that she works at. :P

Yes, for several summers - as a cook and supervisor. That stuff didn't happen when I was working - or at least that I saw. The worst I heard of was some workers flicking dead flies in the fryer grease - the flies would go up in flames from what I understood. And management never encouraged unsanitary conditions or serving bad food.
