I don't see why it would be suspicious for someone to abandon a protection group that's privy to information that needs to be edited out. Mafia would generally stick with that group...
Your right....If I was Mafia, I would have stayed with the group and not been :daisy:ing myself over wither ATPG is mafia or not..If I was SK, I also would have to avoid suspicion....and I also wouldn't have cared...I just would have kill him...
Why didn't you PM me first ATPG??:stare: You could have made a case depending on my response rather then trying to force me to come out with sensitive information(Or rather private stuff if you will but the only way to prove I am innocent) like that:juggle2:

You are twisting my words. ATPG has suggested HIMSELF to be lynched. I said I want to know who he wants to go with him. I.E. to see if there were any motives that might surface, not that ATPG would do anything that silly and reveal himself through that but I thought it worth the try. Obviously he was smart enough to suggest Sasaki for his co-lynchee and basically revealed nothing. No where did I say I would go along with the double lynch, in fact in that post you quoted I clearly show my opposition for a double lynch and in fact lynching ATPG at all. This sort of thing doesn't seem above board at all. ATPG schemes, it's what he does best and I'm trying to understand this scheme he's got going now.

The only way this could be known is if ATPG has been investigated. Since he's already putting himself out in the limelight, I think these results should be posted or conveyed to us in some manner. ATPG's statements are pretty blatantly asking for recruitment. Since he's not in a position that prevents him from being recruited, this is of concern to me. If he's been investigated and found to be non-scum and non-recruitable, great... but we need to know that.

two blabbed to me immediately. One did last night. The other was spread by the person's own protection group to me. I must have a really trustworthy face.
That's a really, really bad move if you didn't make me an officer. Just plain not thinking ahead. It's not secure in the slightest. I noted my concerns about this to the Captain, who if anyone was going to blindly trust, should have been that guy. Or deeply investigate one of the officers and trust that person. Don't blab to Askthepizzaguy. I can't just forget that information if I get recruited.

You never once considered winning by aiding the mafia if you were recruited? Presumably you would greatly aid any mafia family that recruited you, even if you died shortly after that. That would put that mafia family (and thus you as well) in a good position to win the game.
You're honestly saying that you've never considered any method of winning other than being pure pro-town, even after learning that you were recruitable? :inquisitive:

Sorry, that would require me to do a number of things I don't want to do in this game, such as hard work and backstabbing. I just wanted to roleplay Smilin' Sam and sing shanties.
That's all. I didn't ask for people to reveal their power roles to me. And if I ever want to organize a pro-town group again, I'm not going to betray all the people who confided in me. What was that Sasaki said in capo.... forget the exact quote but basically the idea is your trustworthiness affects how you can play the game. If you want to be at the center of pro-town groups or be recruited by mafia, etc, you can't be backstabbing your own teammates every game.
And maybe, just maybe, it isn't in my personality to be a townie and play for the mafia, trying to cut down the town's chances while I am on their team. I leave that up to other, more notorious players.
And yes, I did consider my options for helping a mafia family win. But when I got all those power roles handed to me on a silver platter, I realized that the town stood a better chance of winning. And I also knew I'd be investigated and proven loyal, and perhaps, just perhaps, made an officer and really kicked some mafia tail. That's always fun for me, regardless of role.
I was mafia recently at CFC and my team went down in flames right away. But before I died, I figured out who one of the rival mafia were and got the town to kill him off. That's what I do... because I like killing mafia.

One other option would be to make ATPG an officer assuming that one of the other officers is either uncorruptable or doesnt know the power roles yet. CR, can you please confirm that ATPG has been investigated and confirmed innocent for now.

Not a single one of these posts is incriminating:
Pizza, if White_Eyes was with you on N2 we already have 2 attacks of 2 on night 2 which means he couldn't have participated. So He couldn't have been part of that. That would leave him being another role.... possibly a lone killer. Interestingly enough, a lone killer shows up on N3 the very night White_Eyes doesn't join your group and doesn't abandon ship.
Vote: White_Eyes:D
Thats a good point. Although, the circumstances of White_Eyes not wanting to be apart of your group N3 seems AWFULLY
suspicious.
Why not just abandon ship like you said you would do? Hmmm, could it be because you want to ensure your gold gets left to someone?
So pizza guy who would you suggest be the double lynch victim along with you?

But taken TOGETHER...
I didn't quote the ones from page 32. But if you read over DG's posts this day it looks like he considers a variety of suspects (andres, white eyes, pizza) but abandons them when it appears they won't be lynched. I also don't by that his first post about the double lynch was intended to get information from pizza, it seems more like a mafioso who was happy enough with a double lynch to not stop and consider whether it was a good idea. Now he seems to be making a show of "we can't lynch a townie! Make him first mate!" even though louis has presumable been investigated as well...

I don't think you're guilty now. Given an unbiased reading it does seem like you're just trying to have fun in this game, similar to how pizza looks innocent because he genuinely wants to relax. If sigurd turns up guilty I'll have to reconsider, but that's a question of risk vs reward not of how suspicious you look. CR didn't make a strong case but you found it frustrating, that's where the suspicion came from.

Of course Sigurd will turn out guilty. CR told that there were detective results telling as much, after I said his initial case was rubbish (which it was).
My frustration was that I feared this game would turn into a "follow orders without asking questions" game; as in town organising itself, putting data in an excel sheet and lynching the factors that seem off.

Don't give in so easy, remember org mini mafia
If you were just three townies working together, then there is no case against you. Atheotes was killed by two men, and tratorix was killed by a solo killer. In addition, there is no real motivation for a mafioso to murder their group.

Oh, I fully support ATPG being a Quartermaster, as he has decided to go with a lot of record keeping, and people seem to just throwing him random information, and in hands of the mafia, he would be very vunerable, thus, I suggest him being QM which makes him immune, incase he is suspectible in some way.

My frustration was that I feared this game would turn into a "follow orders without asking questions" game; as in town organising itself, putting data in an excel sheet and lynching the factors that seem off.Excel? What on earth are you on about? Don't be silly. We be pirates. We get drunk and then shout names in this thread.
Also, being a piraty pirate does not mean running your own ship into the ground. It means sailing your loot home, that you may get to enjoy some booty on a rum and wench infested tropical paradise.
You don't need to act erratic as a pirate. Eccentricity is for limeys. We 'honest' pirate crew know just how to have ourselves a jolly good time. Here you go:
Iskander is the latest victim of a private buccaneering group. This group is on a killing spree, possibly because they are in it for booty and some pirating fun.
So here's my offer:
I promise ten gold for every name of this group. That's a whopping thirty for all three of your partners's names. Plus I promise full secrecy and immunity to the person who PM's me with these names. (Yes, pirate's code of honour, to which I am bound)
Of the three names, I shall randomly kill one. The other two walk, so neither they nor anybody else will ever know who took up the offer to help himself to a little extra booty on the side.
Odds are, that you killed for the loot, for the pirating fun of it, and for personal enrichment. Well thirty gold is but one PM away...:pirate2:
It is just business. You know it is the pirating thing to do to help yourself to all of this:

The writeups can and should be scrutinized for clairty, but don't take too much out of what a person was doing at the start of their "scene" at night. I haven't the foggiest idea what Jolt is up to. Admitting you'd rather become maven or British to the investigated about-to-be quartermaster is the same as requesting to be lynched. In the absence of better suspects, we might as well get rid of an uncooperative and admittedly traitorous player.
I'm working through my mind what Jolt could be. It's possible he's a joker/bomb role but I believe we've all agreed on how lame those roles are, and I think GeneralHankerchief spent a lot of time on this game, too much to risk everyone dying within a round or two. Clearly something's fishy with him to make such blatant lies when I haven't even spoken to him about becoming British, Maven or otherwise. This trumped up accusation came completely out of blue for no apparent reason.
And isn't a little bit strange that everyone seems to be blindly following ATPG when his misconstrued theory that I, who am neither Maven nor British, and even if I spoke about wishing to become either Mafia group, I would still have to deal with the secret "tendency" value, I would be the greatest threat to all? Good point Sasaki, but trusting a proven (by investigation) townie, over one whom has stated that he wants to become mafia, and refuses to do protections, is better in my book. Unless anyone has a better lynch suspect in mind, with more proof, my vote stands. Although I will admit, none of the lynch possibilities have been without some question. We have no REAL proof of a mafia this round.

It's not logical though. A proven townie you can perhaps trust not to lie, but that in no way means that who he says should be lynched should actually be lynched. In this case, he's saying "lynch this guy, he's a townie. The only evidence against jolt also includes him being a townie.

My gut instinct, based on his response to being called out for having a low post count. His posts show a desire to not be suspected based on being a lurker. That's good townie play, but something mafia do a higher percentage of the time than townies do.

Sorry, I could just say "sasaki is guilty, my gut told me". I dunno, I'd rather lynch someone who wants the town to lose. Call me crazy.
He does state he's presently a townie. He also states that he wants to be recruited, and he's voting for someone we know to be innocent. Sorry, I just don't see a helpful "townie" here, I see a person who wants to betray us like someone in Capo. He is townie in name only.

So do we have someone we know is mafia? Or do we want to chance it and possibly randomly hit someone important to the town, as opposed to a townie who wants town to lose.
By all means, point at a known mafioso and make him walk the plank. I'm open to suggestion. What's really pointless is sudden random bandwagons based on "my gut" and nothing else.

At least with a random lynch, you have a chance of hitting mafia. You're basically lynching Jolt because you think he might possibly be a threat at some random point in the future. You've stated yourself that you believe he's a townie, he's not going to purposely sabotage his own side in the hopes of getting recruited.

I also have to disagree with that, in Capo I sabotaged most of the pro-town network to the communists just to get an invite.
I don't necessarially think he should be lynched, but we certainly shouldn't give him any information at this point.

We're currently bandwagoning Jolt for no real reason, if that helps.
ATPG is essentially trying to get us to waste a lynch on Jolt. This is bad play. Jolt has no say over whether he is recruited, just like the rest of us. He might even be unrecruitable, for all we know. If we lynch Jolt, it's a guaranteed waste of a round. Lynching ANYONE else who doesn't have evidence that strong about their role would be a far better move. A slim chance of lynching a mafioso is better than no chance of lynching a mafioso.
This is a stupid move that results from people blindly bandwagoning. I agree there are likely mafioso hiding in ATPG's fanclub, simply because it's absurdly easy. I recommend we turn our attention to them. Let's see here...

No, he's having fun. You talked a whole bunch a couple pages back about how you just wanted to have fun. That's what Andres said too, and me as well. But you have to be honest about it ok. It's clear that you can't stand townies who are "unhelpful", capo made that abundantly clear. You going after them is the same as me vigging someone for starting a lame townie group. But I don't try and pretend like that's the best strategy, in fact obviously if you want to win the game it's an absolutely terrible strategy. We should form massive group around a confirmed, unconvertable innocent, have every townie fall into lock step and obey orders etc etc, and win in a couple days. Except that wouldn't be fun.
So don't pretend like it's good strategy to lynch Jolt, it's a terrible strategy. In a game where you can't join the mafia by choice, and probably can't and won't be converted, you don't lynch a probably townie for being unhelpful if you want the greatest chance at winning.
I mean, you joked around for a whole round and then pulled a bunch of drama, how is that helpful townie? I don't care, just see the log in your own eye huh?
Although I do hope you actually enjoy lynching the unhelpful people, sometimes I get the impression it just stresses you out. I can't imagine not simply enjoying capo :sweatdrop:

Not all games have the same setup, ATPG. Jolt's statements would make him a good lynch in Capo, but this game has different rules. Here, his desires to join the mafia are irrelevant. By himself, he can't kill anyone and he can't lynch anyone. Just like twilightblade in Capo, he's no threat, even though he's not helping us.

Jolt is a silly lynch... I completely agree with sasaki's reasoning we may as well go for a possible mafia rather than a 'bad' townie... although I think he's wrong on the whole Andres thing...
I did like the lynching ATPG idea though... what happened to that... can we reconsider ?
Jolt at least seems up for it...
Edit: It would also be nice if the people that killed me could stop seeming so innocent and making good comments... its makes it harder to call for your death

Day 4
As the Presence sailed on, cutting its way through the calm waters of the North Atlantic, clouds started to form overhead. Soon, the waters would no longer be calm. Every sailor aboard the ship saw what was coming, and knew it wouldn't be pretty. The anticipation of the coming storm probably added to the overall testiness that defined the day's vote. Three days now of attacks, both physical and personal, did not make for a happy crew. Captain Crazed Rabbit's absence for most of the day did not do the crew any favors, either.
Finally, though, he emerged from his cabin, pronouncing the vote over, and telling the crew that he had another announcement to make.
"Lads," he said, "I be replacin' yer Quartermaster again. Thank you for yer service, Seamus Fermanagh, but right now I deem it best to be havin' Askthepizzaguy in this here position at this particular time."
Seamus eyed Rabbit incredulously as he stepped away, rejoining the crew. "I hope the next step isn't to pronounce me a Maven and have me thrown overboard?" he asked, half-joking.
"That remains to be seen," Rabbit replied in the same manner. "But seriously though Seamus, thank you for yer service. Should another vacancy open up, I'll be keepin' ye in mind. Now lads," he said, addressing the entire crew. "Who be the target o' our disapproval tonight?" A score of fingers immediately pointed at Jolt, who started loudly protesting at this.
"Quiet, boy," Rabbit hissed. "Yer fate has already been sealed, traitor. If ye don't want any further humiliation by the crew, then I suggest you die like a man, even if ye not be livin' like one."
"But-" Jolt said, and then finally closed his mouth, looking murderously at everyone who had pointed at him.
"That's a good lad," Rabbit said in a neutral tone of voice, leading Jolt and the rest of the crew to the plank. "Here be yer effects," he said, handing them to Jolt. "My ye find solace, be it in this life or the next."
"May I find solace through the night, never mind for eternity," Jolt muttered, eying the clouds up ahead.
"Aye, that ye may," said the Captain. And without further warning, he booted a surprised Jolt into the water, much to the chuckles of the crew. Several pistols were pointed at him, but Rabbit waved them off.
"Nay, lads, save yer bullets. And yer time, as well! There's a storm coming! Batten down the hatches! Secure the loose articles! I want this ship to be pissin' in Mother Nature's face tonight, and that also means nothin' rattlin' around! Well? What're ye waitin' for? GET TO WORK, YE SORRY SACKS OF SEAGULL DROPPINGS!" He continued amiably cursing at the crew, which sped off to work, leaving new discipline officer Askthepizzaguy to awkwardly yell shouts of agreement at Rabbit's orders.

Anyway,
So, basically Jolt was lynched, because he would like to be recruited by the mafia?
That sounds like a silly reason to me. It's not like townies can chose to go mafia in this game. They get recruited or they don't. For all we (and that includes Jolt) know, he may even be one of those townies who are not recruitable.
Why didn't we make him an officer, like we did with the previous townie who "might get recruited by the mafia"?
Hey, you know what: I'm a townie and it's possible that I could be recruited. Maybe make me an officer? Or lynch me?
Why was ATPG made officer and did Jolt get lynched?
I'm confused.
So, Jolt, should I post our conversation then? I am not sure why you would say this was all lies.
Look even if you were a townie, you're not playing as such. You're intentionally trying to sabotage the ship and you voted for a trustworthy officer. It doesn't MATTER if you've been recruited yet or not. The simple fact remains you are plotting our destruction. Confessing such doesn't help your case for being innocent.

Why was ATPG made officer?
He has been fully investigated and found innocent according to both CR and Louis, yet has been found susceptible to conversion. Hence, by making him an officer he can't be converted and we have one more confirmed townie in a power position.

Why was ATPG made officer and did Jolt get lynched?Because:
Pizza has been protecting crew, and Jolt has been killing them.
Pizza spoke the truth, Jolt lied about the MSN chat.
Jolt has been on a killing expedition at least twice. Against players he knew to be town. He also lied about chat logs / PM's. (Which, incidentally, our silly hypocrites Sasaki, Andres and Jolt seem to have forgot was the very reason they themselves vig killed innocent Grizzly)
How is that not a good lynch? Players need to protect themselves against their killers. Of any kind. Be they English, maven, or townies who publicly announce they will kill townies just for the fun of it.

[Language please - GH]> Jolt has at least twice been involved in vig killing innocents. There is a silly hypocrisy in Jolt's mates protesting his lynch as 'unnecessary killing of a town player'.
Half the people who protested, have been involved in killing innocents together with Jolt.
> Sasaki, you are mistaken about this game's mechanics. This game is exceedingly difficult for the town:
Investigations take a whopping three days. This game will be over before a detective has even managed to investigate a mere handful of players.
Players turn mafia without prior warning. Without any visible sign of it in the thread. In Capo, a player needs to kill to turn to the Dark Side. We get to see players turn mafia. They can also be caught doing so by detectives.
Not so here.
Lastly, all of the town players are in competition with one another too.
So again, even if the names of all the mafia players were announced by GH right now, the town could still lose. There is absolutely no reason to assume this will be a town walkover.
> For some reason, many players think that wantonly killing players is a fun thing to do. I disagree. There are roles. And there are people behind the roles. What is so cool about ending the game for some guy/gal just for the kicks of it? Just because you are disappointed that you are town?
> Wanton killing of your own side isn't even good pirate role playing. What pirate secretly kills his own crew members at night? That's not Pirate role-playing, that is 'drugged Somali teenage militia' roleplaying.

This is a ridiculous argument, because Jolt didn't even comment on the chat log until after the lynch was over. This was never a basis for the lynch.
Apparently the people 'running' the town seem to have forgotten that in order to win we need to lynch the starting mafioso. Lynching anyone else is a waste of time.

I will admit that this aspect does raise my eyebrow about Jolt. However, that doesn't change the fact that the lynch itself was one of the most scumtastic bandwagons of the year.
I also like how we're now retroactively saying that the LG vig kill was wrong. Odd that everyone seems to forget that if LG hadn't been killed, he would've been lynched immediately afterwards. That vig kill saved us a lynch... which was then used on LG's most prominent defender.

I also like how we're now retroactively saying that the LG vig kill was wrong. Wrong, not wrong...I didn't care. There were reasons to kill Grizz, there were reasons not to. I, for one, never voted for any of his killers over it.
What I'm saying, is that Grizz was killed on the flimsiest of evidence. The same reason that Jolt was lynched. A lynch, to which several of the very vig killers against Grizz and Andres protested because it was based on 'the flimsiest of evidence'. Which is rather odd. One has to lynch somebody, whereas one doesn't have to vig kill somebody.
The bandwagon happened owing to the absense of any real mafia suspects. Nobody had any, so nobody can berate anybody else for not having any. But in the absense of any clear mafia suspects, I'd like to keep as many town alive for as long as possible.
And this is the hypocrisy of it: I have been very outspoken against wanton vig kills based on no clear reasons. Several others haven't. Yet, it is this last crew who are now protesting a lynch as 'wantonly killing' of crew.
Somebody's got to get lynched. My own vote on Jolt, incidentally, I think was the first one. At any rate, placed well before a bandwagon appeared and before Pizza posted any comments on Jolt.

You're remembering incorrectly. LG was killed because he admitted to having lied. Jolt was lynched because he said he was a bored townie. There's a huge difference there.
The bandwagon happened owing to the absense of any real mafia suspects. Nobody had any, so nobody can berate anybody else for not having any. But in the absense of any clear mafia suspects, I'd like to keep as many town alive for as long as possible.
If you'd like to keep the town alive, I suggest you try to lynch people that appear like they might be mafioso, as opposed to people that appear to almost certainly be townies. I'm not sure if you noticed this, but the entire argument for lynching Jolt was based on the assumption that he was a townie. No one even suggested that he was a mafioso. Color me skeptical if you say that was the best method of keeping townies alive.
And this is the hypocrisy of it: I have been very outspoken against wanton vig kills based on no clear reasons. Several others haven't. Yet, it is this last crew who are now protesting a lynch as 'wantonly killing' of crew.
And some of the protesters, like me, have been doing nothing but cooperating fully with CR-organized protection groups. Am I scum because I think what they say makes sense?
Somebody's got to get lynched. My own vote on Jolt, incidentally, I think was the first one. At any rate, placed well before a bandwagon appeared and before Pizza posted any comments on Jolt.
And what do you think of the bandwagon that appeared afterwards? Does it not concern you that so many people were able to vote without giving any reason or being questioned over it?

LG--strong evidence of him starting the game with a group of affiliated players, and of him having something to hide. And in fact as has now been revealed, he started the game with a group of affiliated players, and had something to hide. Lynch on that basis everytime, no question.
Jolt--all evidence pointed towards him being a townie.
ANYONE else--approximately 10% chance of being mafia. Louis, I showed before that mathematically it is to the towns advantage to randomly vig kill people. That's kind of mean though. But nothing wrong with vigging or lynching suspects, you aren't going to vote no lynch are you?

No it's basic math. 10 % > 1%. A bad lynch is worse than a random lynch.

While I be honest, agree with this, there is also another point to consider. In a situation where we don't know who the mafiaso is, or have any good leads, killing some one like Jolt who might be a townie but really wants to work for the mafia and hindering the town, might be a good choice, opposed to some one who is completely innocent/pro-town/working for the town.

I fully admit that by the time I made my vote on Diana, I was too frustrated with the situation to try and create a solid case against someone else. By that point I believed that no matter what I said, the Jolt vote was going to succeed. I felt (and still feel) that there were almost certainly mafioso hiding in that bandwagon. I picked Diana because I wanted to vote for a bandwagoner to express my frustration and because I felt voting for her specifically would be the most likely way to get a reaction out of ATPG.

Probably the last I'll say on the matter, as I'd like to move on-
Now that the man is dead and almost everything he said was either a joke or an outright lie, or both, and we won't know for sure if he's town, mafia, or "crazy person" role (It's entirely possible he had a role where everything he had to say was a lie or unhelpful ) for another few days, perhaps we can put this to rest. As for whether people should blindly follow what some players say, I say no... come up with suspects and judge for yourselves whether existing bandwagons are worth following. Which, I rather thought people had been doing. However, I find it slightly odd that some suggest it's bad that there's "blind" bandwagoning/following going on when attempts to get others to follow their accusations such as "my gut" and "we need a bunch of votes of this player because I said so" etc, are examples of the exact same thing. The difference is that those aren't as popular or likely to succeed, probably because the neutral observers don't see a reason why. That reason makes all the difference. I think the main complaint here is that some people's suspects aren't being treated with the same weight.
I honestly do wish we had a better suspect here and there, someone else knowing something better and more profound, leading to a better lynch than simply a townie with a penchant for lying for no reason, or perhaps the "village drunk" kind of role, who knows. But last round was filled with dead-end suspects, in my mind, and I didn't want to make a move against any of them, at least not yet. Given the lack of serious bandwagons on those suspects, there were a lot of people who would agree with me on that. When presented with at least a guy who seems to have a tongue more forked than Poseidon's trident, who admits to wanting to do whatever it takes to destroy random players, and then eventually side with the mafia, many people just happened to agree that in the absence of other better suspects, hey why not at least eliminate a pest? I note that in other games... way back in the murky history of before two weeks ago, people would suggest that random vigilante kills were a bad idea, especially if we don't know who we're hitting, in a game filled with pro-town roles. This was common sense sort of stuff and most people agreed. Some even went so far as to say a rogue vigilante is just as dangerous as the mafia we're after. And these were some good players saying this. And this rogue vigilante might even have his heart in the right place. What about one who was technically on your side, but had his heart set on killing you on purpose, for the very reason of eliminating as many as possible, so if you do eventually become mafia, you have fewer innocents to kill? It would not exactly be controversial to have this person killed.
As an example, after a few kills that looked bad in the Council of Villains, particularly one against Reenk Roink I think it was, there were calls to see our vigilante die. He was on our side at that point. In most games, the town does not allow bad kills to continue, our "side" or not. Especially if the case may be the person couldn't tell the truth to, quite literally, save his own life. Here, we might have lynched a mafioso instead. True... yes, we might have. Or just as easily killed a townie, or perhaps not even a known townie, but one who had performed a successful protection, perhaps... or one that was actively organizing protections that had worked, or perhaps one that faithfully sent in orders, leaving them vulnerable to being scanned for lies, making our work easier. Perhaps we could have lynched a watchstander or a doctor. Or maybe we could have followed Jolt and lynched our fully-investigated-as-loyal First Mate. All kinds of lovely options. And, with no firm leads on who the mafia were, that's precisely what we probably would have done. Yeah, in the first round or so we take a shot in the dark with our lynches, and hope our roles make the connections necessary to avoid being picked off early. As the game progresses, we try our best to avoid the totally random and work more on getting the mafia through deduction, reason, and evidence. In the absence of that, if you wanted to avoid hitting a good townie, you can always take out a bad one. Quite literally, one that even stated that he wanted to be bad, and was going to continue to be killing off random people until he was turned into a scumbag. Now there's some differences on whether or not it's wise to resort to lynching such a person in the absence of real leads. And we settle those differences the way we settle all our differences; by the vote. The arguments have been made, and no one has really budged on the issue. Since it's been settled by the vote and the game must go on, we should move on.
Edit: Louis said it so much more succinctly here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=2349473&postcount=1185). :shame:
And because Diana is a fellow player, if you vote for her, it will not trigger a reaction out of me such that killing pevergreen would trigger a reaction from Reenk, let's say. We express our love outside of the game, not in it. Someday I fully expect to find a knife in my back covered in lipstick kisses. I think that if either of us were mafia, we'd make sure the other was too dead to find out.

@ATPG: You don't think she would try and recruit you??:eyebrows: I recall "inishmore" Good times..:laugh4:
To be fair it was her very first game and her choice was designed such that someone she knew very well could walk her through the game. Everyone assumes that if one of us is mafia, the other one is. Probably the entire reason why if there's a mafia game with recruitment, we'd avoid one another like the plague if one of us is mafia.
Or maybe that's WIFOM and you should kill us both. :eyebrows:

Your assertion only makes sense if you admit to being mafia or a serial killer.
So you're talking about either a hypothetical, or you're admitting you're a scumbag. Either way, you still haven't demonstrated all the massive damage I've done to the town.

Louis, have you ever been scum in a mafia game before?
Scum as opposed to townie.No. I am your perfect boy scout. :saint:
Even in CAPO, as a wiseguy I tried everything I could to get promoted to townie. Including ratting out an entire fami
Townie is simply the coolest role there is in mafia. :sweetheart:
It's the most challenging. The most demanding. The most creative. The free-est. All I want is to be Capo di Tutti Townie. (Seamus ought to install that title. Have careers move two ways)
Louis:
Why the "duel" with Kojiro? Doesn't seem quite in keeping with your usual game style. What duel? I debate for the sake of debate. It's not like I'm picking on a newbie with scarcely any idea of what's going on. Besides, I have not once voted Sasaki. I don't even vote Andres.
I am simply resisting their evil plot to confuse the town and take over this ship for themselves.
Thinking about it all, I think there were two different debates earlier that got hopelessly entangled. One, the merits of voting Jolt in the absense of any clear mafia candidates.* And two, lingering...'emotions' carried over from CAPO. In particular, aversion to massive voting blocks, the use of pressure, and lynching people for refusing to co-operate.
I was not really part of Capo. I think I may have overlooked this lingering dissatisfaction. All I can say is that I see nothing of the sort here.
There is no voting block. The bandwagon happened, I think, because after 22 hours of deliberation still no clear candidate had emerged. Then Jolt became the subject of discussion. There were several votes on him from several of the few confirmed townies. And Jolt looked scummy too. What's a player to do, eh? Get a vote from random.org? Or vote alongside people you trust and work with?
There is no pressure either. There is not even a close town organisation. Were are all these protect/kill groups? They are not here. Despite the impossibility of getting meaningful results in any reasonable timespan. The town is fighting with its eyes closed and one hand behind its back. (Although I disagree with this. Because it does not show respect for the quality of the mafia players)
There are no threats issued to force people into co-operation. Although I think that perhaps at fleeting glance the case against Jolt may appear that way. Quod non. Jolt was questioned over his kills. In the same fashion that Andres and Sasaki were - neither of which were lynched over it. Why? I can only speak for myself, but: because Andres and Sasaki showed a spine and simply said we killed, for this reason, and we'll do it just the same the next time. Fine. My pirate heart has some sort of grudging respect for that.
Jolt, by contrast, never voluntarily confirmed partaking in vig groups. He says he's doing it for fun. And that he'll do it again and hopes to become mafia. And then lied about it all too. How's that not a good reason to lynch somebody?
*If I were mafia, I'd hide in a vig group to do my killing. You make some friends, you are invisible to investigation ('oh, I was killing because the kill was announced in the thread! I simply volunteered for the job. Yes, it's a rough job, but somebody's got to do it, eh'), maybe work a bit towards throwing the crew into dissarray by working towards mutiny, and get to kill a townie on top of it too. Great strategy.

While we are waiting for the night phase to end, to help pass the time, another installment of:
Adventures on the high seas with "Itchy Lou". Starring "Itchy Lou" and the crew.
"Itchy Lou" stumbles down the stairs from the officers quarters, holding his pet parrot Pete in one hand, and a bottle of rum in the other hand, crying.
I found ye finally, he was in the 1st mates room, and here's his other leg. That Louis, he killed me pet parrot Pete. Why ye have to go and do that, I'm not a bad pirate, just drunk most of the time.
Takes his shirt and blows his nose in to it. Cries some more, and takes another drink of his rum.
I gots him when I was in port, naw I can't remember now, but it was the port wheres I met Tina. Yarrr it was a magical night. They calls her toothless Tina, she had no teeth of her own, but that came in handy at times, if you know what I mean. She was quite a women, well after 2 bottles of rum and 2 eye patches that is. That's where Pete learned to say, "no me dear, turn back over."
