Oh my. I'm probably not going to be able to get to the character cards until late tomorrow.

If you want your character card, please indicate so and I'll make it a priority. Otherwise you've got your previous one and the quick update which informed you of all changes.

If it becomes necessary I'll extend the round. Sorry fellas I have other games that require my attention and I'm spread too thin with that and real life.

I was late with character cards for some people, and some didn't even get any (some didn't even request any).

I also forgot to send some people something. This has not been a good round for me, ladies and gentlemen. I'll be counting up your orders and prodding people who forgot to send them in the morning, but until then there's no penalty for lateness until I say so.

Too much IRL stuff and other games approaching critical mass.

Hello.

Status of the game: Missing orders from Cent, Jolt, Merlox, Thermal, Joooray.

moving people on the map and rolling for searched items,
distributing found weapons as per your orders,
and randomizing an event.

I'll do everyone's character card or quick result before I do the writeup this time, to make sure everything is correct and everyone is fully up to date before I advance the round. Last time I got sloppy.

Orders are now officially late, there won't be any penalty except that if I don't get your orders, you might not move or do anything.

Everyone should have character cards now.

I had to do several large trades, and my cards from the previous round were sloppy or not updated properly. Please inform me of any issues you might have with your card. Juggling all those various trades and massive lists of items isn't much fun for me....

First, this game has to end, and at this rate it can easily take another month for that. :sweatdrop:

Then, I need a BREAK from hosting RE-type games for at least a month or two.

Trying to shoot for late summer/fall.

In the meantime, MURDER MANOR III (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?127534-Murder-Manor-III) and STAR FOX: LYLAT WARS (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?126794-Askthepizzaguy-s-fiendish-super-secret-hidden-lab-where-he-designs-games&p=2445770&viewfull=1#post2445770) will be played in a month or so.

Let me add my congratulations to Team Syn Tech. Well done guys and well played.

Now that they have overwhelmingly won the game, are we just playing it out now for the sake of the sequel?

Everyone else still has team victory conditions to fulfill which aren't mutually exclusive, and personal goals to fulfill.

Just because SynTech wins the game, that doesn't mean the zombies or the town cannot.

Renata
04-18-2010, 21:54
As far as I understand it, SynTech just kicked such immense amounts of :daisy: that it's impossible for anyone else to do as well. But we can still win. Escape, townies, escape!

Askthepizzaguy
04-18-2010, 22:38
The SynTech team

Survives and escapes with 75% of their starting members still alive
Personally destroyed at least 1 Umbrella mercenary
Outlasted the Umbrella team which was destroyed, one of their team objectives
Acquired 3 samples of the Omega-II virus and made it to the helicopter to escape, which is their main objective
Personally eliminated scores of zombies, Plague Demons, Plague Tyrants, and the Plague Queen herself, which is just bonus points.

Since they didn't fail any of their team objectives and completed most of their personal goals, racked up a lot of kills, survived and escaped, do not have mutually exclusive goals from the town, there is no team which completed more of their objectives, or survived and escaped to a higher percentage rate, SynTech were able to score highly enough where they cannot be overtaken in team score.

Still, there is a fierce battle for the second place team score between the town and the Omega horde, and there are many contenders for high personal scores.

I rather think some of the SynTech people will score pretty high for their personal scores as well, but Csargo's attack on the zombie horde gives him the highest total number of kills all game, and the highest number of kills in a single battle. Others did very, very well in their personal endeavors and are still alive. I haven't forgotten anyone's accomplishments, and some of the zombies in particular have done a superb job killing things and staying active and threatening, which really boosts their personal scores and brings their team closer to victory.

I can't wait for this game to be finished, as I am exhausted by it, but I am also anxious to tally up the personal and team scores, give out awards and rankings, and reveal everyone's moves and tell the story of the game from an omniscient perspective.

You might have played the game, but you don't know how much you don't know. Tune in to find out... and send in those orders!

As Psycho hinted at, at this point, we were definitely the most dangerous faction running around. There's a reason why we killed the plague queen (killing blow on the queen ftw!), 3 tyrants and 1 plague demon. Kennedy with the tank would've been dangerous, but probably taken out with a few losses. Getting this far, or in my case, surviving 6 battles without taking damage and then be killed would've been annoying though.

Allyson, we would've let you on the chopper. I hope you make out and gets better from that cough. Turning green isn't good for your health. This applies to the rest of you remaining townies as well.

It's almost a pity that we've left. Just as my gear had become awesome and my stats began to improve and evolve. Ah well. Kendo's tip of the day, find a gatling gun.

Had I've ever been able to reach 15 in combat, I would've definitely stayed. Zombie immunity ftw. :laugh4: And well, almost unkillable by anything else. Even if I suspect you or blackadder would take 1 of the 2 needed silver herbs. Golden lugers got higher average damage in most cases btw, even if the Gatling got more top damage.

Oh yeh, there were at least a few. :skull:

Indeed. In retrospect it was almost perfect playing, except 2 mistakes that incidently almost killed both of you. Both due to misses in the combat system. But we considered alternative orders in 5 different turns that would've ended up bad, that I can remember. :juggle2:

Good job team!

And since the chopper is gone now, could you tell how many it could be on that chopper now ATPG? :book:

Edit: Since I missed mention this before the edit, we really were STARS, just another kind of STARS than expected (SynTech Asset Recovery Specialist). :juggle2:

Then we also guessed right on that number. One of the reasons we kept quiet about it later on.

On another note, congratz to the Systech guys, though it really stings having been an Umbrella merc myself. You made me think a bit about that and some time loss for us (like more avoiding moves from The Stranger/Zain) would've made quite a bit of difference. Not for your team though, The Stranger/Zain still killed by me and Blackadder, you and Greyblades hit by Scott Kennedy and FH dying to Psycho (who had way better equipment and simular stats), but otherwise it would get very different:

I think this should be ok, since everyone I mention by name is dead or have left and most battles can be figured out already. Should it break any rule, I appologise to ATPG and ask for it to be removed.

The townies that went with us for the hangar key: Basically going there spelled their doom... Or not going vigilante when I asked them before the big battle. That still would've given two volleys from split, but that's still the best case scenario... If we then would've fooled them and got a headstart to the chopper, since it was the only exit that could give us full victory. Good call there earlier on 'khaan.

Best case scenario for them, except the one above: They hit the seen zombies (full numbers, since psycho doesn't hit them), but someone is doing a quick search found the hangar key and die by zombies for the trouble. Zombies beaten by the rest, so they get the hangar key with the loot.
Then we're delayed for 3 turns, making them missing us, and also that we don't let Psycho move ahead on his patch alone earlier on. Thus we wouldn't know that we would be forced to eliminate those townies to win and also avoiding the big battle, that they wouldn't win. For almost any other scenario, it would be elimination by us, or ending up as new children for Diana Abnoba, who would still hunt for even more children. In that scenario, she could have up to 8 plague tyrants fairly easy in 2-3 turns in the worst case scenario. Not sure if the tyrants would have that capture feature though.

That has to be annoying. Doing the "wrong" move 4-5 turns earlier is spelling your own doom, simply because every following move have a most resonable move, eventually causing a confrontation with a superior enemy. It should be interesting to hear your version ATPG, since you can really see the potential for such scenarios beforehand.

I'm pretty certain I had three previous opportunities to escape, one as early as turn 7ish. I chose comradeship over self gain though and thoroughly enjoyed the characters I met along the way.

And well played "STARS" guys. I'm surprised you didn't kill us, we knew exactly who you were. ~;)
We were pretty tempted to attack you knowing it would mean certain death for us, but we decided against it. I guess being killed by one of you guys would of been better than burning to death though.

Also, how did you guys get hold of such a big armoury? I didn't use search mode much but when I did I never found anything remotely as good as the kind of weapons you were carrying.

Oh, and wise move Jolt.

So you guys died? :O

Lots of searching/plenty of luck/plus good stuff in the Biolab. After the game ends I'll post how many/what guns I had over the course of the game. In short by the mid- to late-game I had a ridiculous amount, and I would have had more if I hadn't dropped them due to speed/realism purposes.

Edit: Jolt so you escaped? Congrats, I'm glad my metal detector was of use.

Wasn't really to surprising really. I like the fact that "special" characters were added to the game but I always felt such groups had an advantage over regular townies. Due to the fact townie combat stats were usually very low, I'm pretty certain most of those who got out had to rely on more powerful allies to escape. Take Jolt for example, if he wasn't running with the Syntech guys he would of had a much harder time getting out. I'm pretty certain he met them pretty late on but even then it helps to have a walking armoury with you.

I know that "special" characters have specific tasks to perform and I hope I don't sound like I'm trying to take their success away from them, Syntech for example played awesome. I guess I just felt kind of helpless as a townie and a bit overly reliant on those characters with the higher stats. That's the nature of the game though I suppose.

Well I will say how I got all my guns which was basically every round where possible doing search and move

Round 1 Searched and moved no luck at all found duct tape paint cans and some nails
Round 3/4 I think I got my first piece of good luck found the sl8 rifle which was 2 rounds 3 damage each hit anyone in my awareness since I had 10 awareness that was a lot of people
Round 6 Found glock that bumped my awareness up by one to a superhuman 11
BioLab traded for golden lugers from another player
Round after that found another set of lugers gave previous pair to Ironside
Then after the big battle I got a huge pile of guns and weapons from the townies who died.

Actually, with Character 1, the guy who missed El Gigante with a rocket launcher, then shot him dead, and got crushed by the uberzombie's hulking mass, had 7 combat. And 7 strength. And 7 luck.

Hah. Same. I got an armoury by round 8.

First round, bam, I found a wakizashi.
Second round, a green herb.
Round 3, the Biological Research Laboratory Outer Gate Key, at the graveyard no less. No zombies though....
In round 4, a nice tasty Kevlar vest.
Round 5, a VZ61 Skorpion.
Round 6, the Killer 7, the second best pistol in the game behind the Golden Lugers.
Then, again, in round 7 a Mossberg 590.
Phase 8 I got Kevlar vest, Custom Eagle (Upgraded) and Custom Blacktail (Upgraded) for being involved in FactionHeir's death (for the third time?).
Phase 10, was quite good, a Red Herb and a Golden Dragunov Sniper rifle, pity I never got to use it.
Phase 11 was rubbish, a SIG p226....
Phase 12 was the motherload, after the battle with the Plaga queen the townies we were with died, so we hit the jack-pot, so I received a Blue Herb, a Golden Herb, a Green herb, Nambu 14, Desert Eagle, Delilah (bolt-action rifle), Grenade Launcher, AK-47. I traded for the gatling gun as I was the only one of our group who could use it without a significant speed drop and the Silenced Beretta to boost my stealth.

Then I dropped most of it, only keeping the Killer 7, Dragunov, Gatling gun, Mossberg 590, Silenced Beretta and Custom Blacktail (Upgraded).

Oh, and wise move Jolt.

That's unfortunate, I hoped that the town would take the second place.

We were town neutral, so the only point for us to attack townies was if they threatened our main mission, that is, our exit route, since the Omega samples were plentyful. And we were slightly more selfish with healing items, keeping one in spare, even when the escorted townies might need one. We were sincere in escorting the townies with us to another exit, when we met your group, until our paths separated.

I think I got the worst searching rolls for us. Only got the good weapons by trade with Blackadder and as loot after the big battles. Had a bow as my strongest weapon before that (3 damage/round and -2 luck on target). With the loot, we had items from 9 people including us, so it's no wonder that we got some gems among that list. Found a green, yellow and golden herb though.
We dropped a lot of weapons that might've worked vs the tank as well. It was two rocket launchers and one (used) anti-tank launcher. Still had my trusty RPG launcher though, a real one shot killer if it hit.

There were/are several strong groups that could help the townies.
Pro town:
Town defenders - 3 with 5 in all starting stats
Town mercs and a town hero - 3 with 5 and 1 with 7

Town neutral:
STARS, or SynTech - 3 with 5, 1 with 7
Umbrella mercs (I think they were neutral at least, our mirror faction) - 3 with 5, 1 with 7

Town hostiles:
Serial Killers - They are different, but I think they have the same principle with 3 strong and 1 elite. Possibly fixed stats.
Omega creatures - The Omegas seems to have their pre-turn stats and PC zombies are slightly stronger than the NPC ones.
Plague creatures - Also different, but they had the 3 strong and 1 elite at the start. The plague Tyrants were strong as well. Fixed stats by the look of it.

The early inactive people and those turned Omega might mess the death list up a bit, since their identity remains hidden post mortem.

But it's true, the townies works a bit as pawns, their strength comes mainly with numbers. Then a lot of you have/had boosts in a stat (boxer, runner etc) and/or special abillities (town detectives, doctors, and botanists).

You were town neutral? The townie PM lists both Umbrella and SynTech mercs and agents as 'hostiles', along with zombies, serial killers, Las Plagas and El Gigante. (Not Omegas though, but IIRC there weren't any at the start of the game.)

Also, 'khaan is right, cowardice is the way to win. Just keep on running away until your pursuers get sidetracked or lose interest. :eeeek:

Yeah we were neutral in that our goals were the not exclusive anti-town we had no reason to kill any townie even Mr Kennedy due to the fact that there was no need allthough we did come close at one point to doing a massive backstab againest a townie group but we managed to convince the more anti town of us to not do that as yet.

@ATPG - You could use some spoilers for the pictures you know!

If you spoiler several images, the forum breaks and the spoilers don't open.

I used to use spoilers. The problem is that I can't.... ever since the new format took over, the spoilers are broken when you have many images in spoiler. Reloading the page sometimes fixes it but it doesn't always. I reported it and it's not fixed.

I have to leave it in no spoilers. It sucks.

EDIT:
Also, reload it.... I made some updates to the music selection and bolded certain parts.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! :jumping::jumping::jumping:~:cheers::applause::thumbsup:

I'm finally out of this mess alive! Truly my character's experience was game worth!

Let me express my utmost thanks to:

In first place, my number one partner, Rob_the_Celt. He was with me from Phase 1 and it saddens me greatly to see he couldn't escape. He was my side-kick and helper for most of the game and the fact that he didn't reveal where the Metal Detector escape point was when he died, was truly a testament to how much he wanted me to get out. In all fairness, this is as much my personal victory as it is his.

In second place, to all the members that were on the bridge when we fought El Gigante. It was brilliant to see a group of townies cooperating like we did. It was an utter shame that I was the only one left alive of that huge group.

In third place to the Pranas/GH for being my second side-kick in our objective of getting the Metal Detector and escaping the city.

In fourth place to Psychonaut. Despite him being a merc, without his Metal Detector gift, I would probably have died as well, and it managed to cut short my work for several phases (going to the location to get the Metal Detector, getting it and then escaping)

In fifth place for the second group of people I was with that fought and destroyed all the Plague Tyrants.

In sixth place to the final group of townies many of which met their untimely end in the tank. A pity.

Finally, to the zombie group which attacked and killed the sniper which had previously attacked me and could have prevented me from escaping.

A fantastic game everyone.

@ tibilicus, actually the #1 factor in escaping as a townie appears to have been sheer luck. Atheotes, Amsel and I never came across any super-powerful roles on our way out (other than those that tried to kill us), and on the turn before we escaped, it was another townie who saved our bacon. Yaseikhaan came across the SynTech guys only to ditch them at the first opportunity. :)

I guess it is, it's all in the roll. You never know if there's going to be a horde of zombies round the corner.

I was with Atheotes till we got separated at El Giganta. I met Wishazu shortly after though and decided to go with him in the hope of getting more townies out instead of rendezvousing with Atheotes. I'm glad you guys got out though. I just wish we could of made it a couple more turns or so, we were so close.

As I had said, of the entire group, only me and RtC knew the escape point, and given my health (2 vp by then) and combat rating (Also 2. Notice I missed the arrow to El Gigante) and no good weapons whatsoever, thus I wasn't going to be of much use there and it would have been stupid for us to lose both men who knew the final extraction point. I said I was fleeing for R15 or something, and I'd wait for you there. It was the best move, as most probably I would have died in the bridge as well and I wouldn't have made a difference. I went back exactly on the turn all you guys died against the assassin. I managed to pick up a huge arsenal from everyone dead. :D

Most excellent, Jolt. I must admit, I had strong paranoia to you when you revealed to us your weapons. Good to know all was straight up with you. Thanks for getting me and the other escapees some kind of victory, at least. Not looking too excellent, though, for the rest.

Well, me and RtC had crappy weapons, little combat ratings and little strength ratings, so we needed help. I decided that the best course to gain the trust of everybody was to be pretty open about myself, though not revealing the final extraction point exactly to prevent the dead guys from blocking the escape point. That way everybody would follow and we'd have a big enough group to go across town, barge into the bio-lab and get what we wanted out of it and go to the final extraction point where I just escaped from.

Well done Jolt. You don't happen to be related to Mr. X, don't you? Or APTG did cut down on 1 image use.

Actually it's fine, I'm happy for the chance I had to scare the bejezus out of the town when they realized there was another serial killer.

Craterus
04-27-2010, 19:19
Yeah, Craterus lied to me, and unfortunately I knew he was lying. I guess it had no real consequence on what happened, though.

Just a quick defence, nothing game-breaking (I think) but I've spoilered it, so click at your own risk. ATPG, let me know if I've said anything I shouldn't and I'll delete:
I didn't lie :inquisitive: I told you I was the sniper and I said I'd been taking potshots at targets I couldn't quite identify. I also claimed to be a town defender, which has been confirmed. I may have hit a townie or two with my sniping, but I also got something not 'normal' twice.

I decided to play sniper because when I tried to make friends I got attacked (I was unarmed at the time too) so I gave up on that.

Furthermore, I enabled you and your two buddies to escape (you're welcome, btw) and killed 3 zombies with my final stand. Not like I was shirking on responsibilities or anything, there just weren't THAT many opportunities to defend the town, I only met a handful of people and one of them attacked me.

Renata
04-27-2010, 20:22
To Craterus: I was referring to you saying the defender had no special abilities, or something similar. I knew that wasn't true, since atheotes was also a defender. I thought you might have claimed falsely.

I wish you hadn't lied, because I would have told you more about what I expected to happen in that location the next turn, and it's possible it might have influenced you to stick around and maybe change the outcome of the battle for the townies who died and were plaga-infected. As it happened your incentives were so strong to leave that I'm not sure it would have convinced you, hence why I say it probably wouldn't have changed anything. Still, I could have tried.

Believe me, I am *very* glad you showed up there when you did! :)

Just wait until the end, you'll see there were a number of townies who attacked other townies. Diamondeye actually ended up killing CCRunner on the same turn he became an Omega, but he was a townie at the time and CCRunner was a town botanist, so he executed those orders as a townie.

I'll give points for each additional person. As for the mechanics of turning, it is a random roll of the dice and one person gets selected. Then they choose if they want to be Omega or not. Then, if they choose to remain human, the next time the random roll lands on them, they are a forced conversion.

Well done, Wizashu. Leon pulled through in the clutch so many times over the game that its mind boggling. The town's hero was just that, a hero. I'm a bit surprised the town pulled out as good of a victory as it did. Granted, the Syntech guys played so excellently its hard to justify them being placed a notch below the town, but we came darned close.

Now, my grand strategy for winning the game, as outlined by my first night's result(stunningly lucky first night as you'll see)

Leon Harris (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7etcSFt_eo&feature=related) chases after the first person he sees, and follows him into the creepy old abandoned military base. It turns out this person is Sigurd. But oh Leon Harris, what have you got yourself into? You see not only Sigurd, but also some others nearby...

Captain Blackadder and Double A are directly to your northeast tile (Q-28), and you spot someone else 2 squares to the east. (R-29) And there's another person 2 squares to the south... (T-27). I hope, for your sake, that all these folks are all friendly.

You're able to communicate privately with Sigurd, Captain Blackadder, and Double A until they leave your zone of control, which could be as early as next round.

Now, you weren't even looking for items, but it just so happens you landed on a goldmine... this is highly unusual. You appeared to have lucked out, sir... you found a very rare, Golden herb.

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb225/askthepizzaguy/goldherb.jpg

Golden Herb
(RARE)
(Adds Regeneration)
Can be combined with Silver Herb for Combat +2, Regeneration
Can be combined with Green and Silver Herb for Combat+3, Regeneration, FULL RESTORE

Now that little herb packs a mighty wallop! The question is, when do you use the item? Do you wait for other herbs to combine it with, or do you use it by itself?

F.A.Q.- What is "regeneration"?

A- It automatically restores 1 lost vitality point per 15 minute phase until you are fully healed. It's a shame this is only science fiction. You won't gain the ability "regeneration" until you use the herb. It is a single use item.

Character Card- Yaseikhaan

Leon Harris- Townsperson

Yup, got a golden herb on the first phase, without even being in any search mode. Not sure how that worked, but luck was on my side multiple times through the game.

Couple nights later, when I was in the tank yard, I got ambushed by Seon while investigating a tank, and evidently lucked out when I took a mere one vitality instead of, say, being one-shotted. For my hard work, I got a pair of golden lugers, which I kept a hold of for a bit. After that, I went back to the airfield, then doubled back to the bridge, since that was where me and a small group of townies had agreed. This was a bit frustrating. Somehow, Seon managed to tail me the whole way down and up to the bridge. For whatever reason, possibly luck, or otherwise, he managed to avoid death at the hands of the 8 or so townies stacked on the bridge while he was running not far behind me. But even more frustrating.... right in the middle of about 8 townies, armed to the teeth well enough to eventually take down the El Gigante, was little Diana Abnoba.... In her human facade. Sigurd, the detective for the town, got an unclear result on her, which raised my alarm bells a bit. But... with El Gigante rumbling just a few squares off, the town decided he was the more important threat, and off went trotting the plague queen.... Now, to be fair, I cowered out just as hard. Jolt possessing Kharkarov's bow, along with Pizza confirming that there were cover roles, combined with Diana's unclear result, combined with El Gigante nearby, combined with my ultra-fragile, ultra speedy build, convinced me that running away was the best choice. Sadly, the group didn't fare as well as I would have hoped, though they did succeed in taking the beast down eventually. After that, I decided to act on my info from a scrap and go to the subway to find a way into the research lab, to find weapons and herbs, at the least. When I got there, Ironside and Captain Blackadder awaited along with a good sized group of others. Since I'd been in quick search mode the whole way, and guessing I had the best awareness/luck of the people at the sub station, I got the grappling hook. I thought about the busted out bridge down south, but wasn't sure if to act on it or not, especially with herbs and more guns so close at hand. Now, although being friendly and cordial with the Syntech guys(who of course were claiming Stars), I knew once they told me they needed into the research lab that I could only trust them so far. But, with the large group of other apparent townies nearby, I thought they would at least keep in check while the others were around, so I hopped the subway with everyone else up to the lab. It was there that I got the scrap, saying I could use the grappling hook to get across the busted out bridge. With a way to get outta dodge, I wad darned if I wasn't going to use it. Particularly since someone apparently could tell of a large group that was above us/nearby in the lab. I told everyone I'd be off. Before leaving, I wanted to see if i could get a weapon I could actually use. The lugers were awesome, but I had a combat of 2- I shot at Seon earlier with the two, and totally whiffed. Cap'n Blackadder had a wakizashi, which fit perfectly in with my extremely high speed rating. I made the trade. Dunno if those lugers helped or not, CB. However, I really have no regrets, having gotten the whole story from Pizza on how the merc groups worked, so that you guys succeeded is not exactly the worst that could happen.

And after that, well, I was off to the races, down to the bridge. About at this point, Diana was raising a big ruckus, which served as excellent cover for me to slink away under. The nagging fear that I would get to the bridge only to find a plague demon parked on it stuck with me the whole way, but I only ever ran into one person since I left the biolab. If I had to do my build all over again, I think I'd do it exactly the same. With the exception of Wizashu, the majority of the fighters ran into grim endings. Might not be the bravest route, running all over like a scared kitten, but only once was I ever in danger. All in all, though, it was great fun. Many thanks, ATPG. You deserve a standing ovation for the sheer effort put into the game. I'm half expecting a 200 page word document for your game summary. This had to be, and obviously was, a drain on you, but you trucked through it, saw it to its extremely satisfying conclusion, and overall did an excellent job of keeping everything and everyone in order.

Awesome game, ATPG!

Gotta say, I had a lot of fun with it, even after I became a zombie.

Probably a high point for me in the game. Fourth phase results.

RESULTS-

Leon Harris ran as far away from the creature as he could, ending up south of the tank yard, in X27. When he gets there, he is feeling weak, so he takes the Golden Herb he found which he thinks might have medicinal properties. The reaction is pretty intense... His body starts to glow and shimmer... (what kind of nuclear waste have they been dumping to make awesome plants like these? Lousy environmentalists, always trying to stand in the way of scientific progress by cutting down on so-called "dangerous" pollutants... https://forums.totalwar.org/images/smilies/gc/gc-laugh4.gif) and soon Leon Harris feels as though he were in fighting form. But the effects continue... the glow on his skin is slightly visible, but fading away, and he feels with some amazement that the giant gash on his back has already healed.

"I'm some kind of X-man!" Leon thinks. But before he gets ahead of himself, he takes a look around and finds a rusty old pickaxe lying on the ground nearby. Useless? I think not.

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb225/askthepizzaguy/Pickaxe-706410.jpg

Bloody Pickaxe

Damage: 3 vitality point per combat round.
Speed: 1 swing maximum per round (not affected by speed, it is a slow weapon)

Has 10% chance of causing instant death.

Seems Leon is on a lucky streak. But then he looks up and notices that creature that attacked him last round, is standing next to him.... (X-26) https://forums.totalwar.org/images/smilies/gc/gc-sweatdrop.gif

You also spot someone in Y-29.

Ah, ok. I had thought one's odds of actually finding it were boosted by doing an actual search.

Bad point: Centurions Angels didn't get a awesome action.
Good point: We got out alive, and Me and Flaxy can finally have the lesbian wedding!!

Great game ATPG! Despite not facing hard opponents besides Whitey and YLC, it was lots of fun... Suspense and atmosphere was great.
I thank all the comrades. John, Jooray, Centurion, Whitey for a bit, Wishazu... And most of all TheFlax. I love you all!

@ Pizza

Totally Awesome Game!!!! I really got into this game.

@ Khaan

I was so nervous at the bridge, trying to play nice with the townies, :sweatdrop: but never planning to stay for the fight with El Gigante. Then I heard that Sigurd (I think), or a detective was around, :holmes: and knew I had to split quick. If I died, our whole team failed. From then on, I was in stealth mode, going for the Groom. :sneaky: I had to check out the Groom myself (I was the only one with 100% on scanning for the Groom). I even managed to slip by Renata with a chainsaw Pizza just told me :surprised: (and her character could have kicked my butt (before I turned that is). I think I slipped by several other players with some weapons that would have ended my life in a few combat turns also. I only had 1 gun (not the best) and combat of 2 before I turned.

The tension, the suspense, the drama...I really loved playing this game. Pizza, I know that you will need, like at least 6 months off, before the next game, but I can't wait!!!! Great game, great set up, you really put a lot of work into this (and it showed!!). :applause:

Thank you ATPG for the great game whilst I was alive. Glad to see that at least one of my teammates before Reenk replaced me got out safely

Apologies to Renata, Winston, or S&B if you felt let down or something when I got replaced and nothing came out of cooperating with me :shame:

Not everyone wants to be a zombie. I can understand that... it's disappointing first of all to die, and be given a crummy weapon to work with and low stats.

That is why you guys are going to see some zombies with awesome personal scores coming up. Those who put a lot of effort into the zombie side of things will be seeing just how many points can be earned as an ambitious zombie. MWahahahaha......

Kills are a lot harder to perform, but when you do, jackpot.

Jolt
05-22-2010, 14:48
Awesome. Anyways, I had a normal point allocation (4 on each stat), which I allocated mostly to Awareness (As I would be a Town Botanist in look for Herbs), vitality and stealth, dissing heavily the combat part of the game.

Turn 1
I started near the treatment plant, and went towards it, doing a quick search mode and found a Brown Herb. Further, I found Beskar, Frozen_in_Ice and Rob the Celt in the Treatment plant.

Turn 2
Spent the turn discussing with Beskar and Rob the Celt our next path. Frozen in Ice unfortunately had his inbox full and barely took part in the discussion. We had some mutual suspicions as I was hearing from Beskar that Frozen in Ice had forced him to come to the treatment plant or he'd be shot. In the end, I allied with Beskar and Frozen in Ice, which were in Cooperation mode.

Turn 3
We had previously decided I was going to Search Thoroughly mode to try and scan the area for ways to leave the city. Fortunately enough, I picked up the Richard Bauer memo #11, which said we could escape the city through a minefield East of the Army Base, but for that we needed a Metal Detector, which was located in the Biolab. The memo said that to open the Biolab you needed a key (Though it didn't specify where the key was) or we could bust open the door, but we would need high Strength rating. The memo also mentioned that Umbrella mercenaries might be going that way too. I also found a Krauser's Bow (I had no idea who Krauser was at the time in the RE Universe), further, the weapon seemed pretty bad (Despite the fact that it's rare). After further discussion, we all saw we were severely under-armed: Me and Rob the Celt had no weapons (Found the bow which wasn't much of an assurance), while Beskar had a simple pistol and Frozen had a shotgun (That's what was said in the discussion if I recall correctly), so we decided to head for the army base, search for some weapons, then head for the lab.

Turn 4

We began our trek North, and immediately we noticed Beskar had deserted us. Regardless, I searched quickly and found a Yellow Herb.

Discussions between me and Rob the Celt, still suspecting Frozen in Ice of being a mercenary, decided to desert him ourselves too, though we would still continue for the army base, we would no longer discuss future plans with him.

Turn 5

In this turn we came to the bridge and found a huge number of people: T24- Cultured Drizzt Fan, Diana Abnoba, Double A, Major Robert Dump, Seon, Taka, Yaseikhaan T26- Sigurd and AVSM. Sigurd and AVSM were separated from the rest by two squares and me and RbC made the connection (We were in T25) The results also mentioned the ground was shaking (Which meant El Gigante was coming)

I myself searched again and found a Blue Herb.

We created a quicktopic for the discussion where I revealed I knew a path out the city, and it involved getting a Metal Detector from the lab. To avoid being backstabbed, I didn't reveal the escape path East of the Army base. Further, both me and Rob the Celt knew the escape point, so if one of us died, the whole thing wouldn't be compromised. Most people reluctantly accepted that direction as the next plan to follow, and then discussion began on how to take on El Gigante. As results showed, the whole group was infiltrated by an Omega Transformation (MRD) and a serial killer (Captain C). In the fight, my participation was only sending an arrow from my bow which missed El Gigante. :embarassed: I took successive hits, and when the fight was done I was down to 1 VP.

Turn 6

The discussion turned to finishing off El Gigante (Which was badly wounded) and killing off whoever of the backstabbers that stayed behind. Due to my poor combat and very low VP, I told everyone that I wasn't going to be much of a help, and therefore I would go to R23, and that I'd wait there for them. I made a mistake when I sent in orders to go to R28, instead of R23. I went in Stealth mode and saw a great many of them die in the write-up. But at least they killed El Gigante. I also took my Yellow Herb to improve my remaining Vitality to 2, and I mixed the Blue and Brown Herbs.
I must confess I very much liked being in this discussion group where people weren't really trading much but rather really thinking on how to help one another. To that matter, I had promised Double A to give him my Blue-Brown mix (Really give him without anything in exchange) which improve his strength and speed.

Turn 7

Realizing my mistake, I simply sent orders to go back exactly to where I was before in the bridge, still in Stealth mode.

Turn 8

Once I arrived at the bridge, everyone but Pranas was dead in the final fight with the Serial Killer. As a result, both me and Pranas could pick a huge arsenal over the weapons our fallen colleagues. Pranas was always inactive, so despite my best efforts to coordinate with him, I couldn't get much done with him. In the end I picked up the best weapons and left the (Huge) rest for Pranas. Before that I only had a Krauser's Bow. After that, I had: Krauser's Bow, Golden Lugers, Glock with Flashlight, Granade Launcher, Mossberg 590 Shotgun and RCP900 Machinegun (And my best friend for the remainder of the game). I also took a Walkie-Talkie and left Pranas with the other one.
As I was still very low on VP (2), and since I deducted most people were in the Biolab, or going towards it, I decided to go in the opposite direction for safety to the South-West, where I'd remain searching for herbs to heal myself up.

Turn 9

Very fortunately enough, my Search found a Black Herb, which I combined with my previous Blue-Brown mix for a +2 Speed, +2 Strneght, +2 Stealth, FULL RESTORE item, which I took immediatly.
Now patched up, and with Pranas still inactive, I decided to finally set sail for the biolab on my own, deciding to go through the subway for speedness purposes (as townies were dropping like flies due to infection in my eyes).

Turn 10

Pranas was replaced with GeneralHankerchief on this turn, and finally I could get some cooperation going. I told GH of the Metal Detector-Minefield escape route, and told him I was near the subway, and I'd wait for him so we could go together. He also brought along Merlox, which was in touch with Pranas/GH during that turn. It would take a few turns for him to get to my position. I searched and found Purple Herb. I also saw people in the vincinity but couldn't tell who they were.

Turn 11

Still waiting for GH. The people found the last turn promptly vanished from my Awareness circle. Searched and found an Orange Herb in this turn (By now, due to the color pallete of herbs I had found so far, I had made ATPG promise that if I escaped, I would get a Rainbow Herb.)

Turn 12

In the same turn GH and Merlox were finally arriving, all of a sudden, all hell broke loose. They were not the only ones to arrive. From the North came Captain Blackadder, Ironside, Psychonaut, FactionHeir and Greyblades, which was a Plague Tyrant. He attacked me (along with the rest of the folks) as I peacefully searched. After the other guys took out most of his vp, I grabbed my RCP900 and killed Greyblades the Tyrant (Killed him with my fantastic 2 Combat rating). Still, his attack left me with 2 VP again. X_X'
GH and Merlox arrived in the square below me, where they were attacked by another Tyrant, Stildawn.
The discussion and attempts to "trade" things (Something I felt weird as previously I didn't mind one bit giving stuff away other people would need more than me.), along with our next step took place. I said the same thing, that we were going to the Biolab for the Metal Detector. Psychonaut and Faction Heir however, showed they already had Metal Detectors plentiful. And since they apparently weren't going to mind giving them away (Or trading them), me and GH decided to tag along. They said they were also going in that direction. I found a Brown Herb this turn.

Turn 13

We began our trek back to the bridge, and Stildawn attacked GH and killed him, unfortunately. Psychonaut then unleashed his gatling gun on Stildawn and that was the end of that. We also saw some unknown thing north of our position, which we deduced it was a zombie horde. I accordingly built a trap which would have killed a bucketload of them. I was in vigilante mode this turn due to the Tyrant threat.

Turn 14

The unkown thingie turned out to be many townies. My partner Rob the Celt was there once again, replacing a player that had gotten inactive, along with my still ally status Frozen in Ice, which we had dissed him in the first phases, and tibilicus. They were also in contact with Wishazu (Town Hero Leon Kennedy), which had started up the tank. The new townie group, who trusted me completely due to my patnership with Rob the Celt (revealed to me) the STARS were mercenaries for SynTech, and that they were planning to kill to kill the mercenaries with Wishazu's help when he arrived in the tank. Discussions back and forth, we decided not to attack on first sight but they would try to lead the mercenaries to follow the tank where Wishazu after rescuing some townies, would try to kill the mercs. This wasn't obviously gonna happen as the mercs were already going for the chopper.

Turn 14

The large group was on the bridge, along with the tank. There, Psychonaut gave me the Metal Detector (Thank you Psychonaut ), and I traded a Yellow Herb I had claimed from GH's fallen body, for a medpack he had, which would heal me completely. After that, the mercs told the townies they were going to remain put on the bridge waiting for the tank. The townies asked me if I was going to go with them in the tank, but I had no beef with the mercs, plus after seeing the pain they had dished out on the tyrants, I was none too eager to get myself killed so close to escape. In the end, I bid them good luck and farewell and hoped they would blow through the barricade. I myself was going to the minefield.

Turn 15

I headed for the military base, which had some zombies, and I prepared a trap to kill them if they attacked me. Quite unfortunately, I was instead attacked by fellow townie Thermal Mercury, with a sniper, one turn away from escape. Due to the nature of the Sniper attack, he could kill me the next turn before I moved for safety.

Turn 16

The write-up showed that I was an ordinary townie close to escaping, and that was enough for Thermal Mercury not to attack and kill me.
So my character finally climbed the fences and escaped the hell that was Dark Falls.

Great game guys!

Great Game everyone. There were points when us Syntech personal were so worried about being spotted or found out by the townies. Also I have to thank FactionHeir for his fair play he could have told the townies we were Syntech but did not because as his new character he had no knowledge of us. One thing that was funny was that all of us thought the CIA agent was not on our side, side and that his objectives were countary to ours. We were not going to call him up untill we had completed our mission. Also townies at the subway station it is funny but we were very close to sending in an order to shoot all of you in the back because we realised that the chopper would not fit us all thus you needed to go.

To Khann

The lugers helped a lot thank you very much your gun is the one that took the Plague Queen down.

Nicely done, Wishazu. To be honest, for the entire time I was in Dark Falls I had Scott Kennedy down as a serial killer, because of his initials.

Also well done to the other escapees. And of course the host, but that one's obvious.

Good game everyone, especially ATPG. Sorry I disappeared and forgot about this after my character died.

Anyway I liked Jolt's rundown of things, so I'll go through my old PMs and try to do a rundown of my thoughts and actions while I was alive.

Pre-Game:
I was assigned the role of Colmillo A.K.A. "Fang", Serial Killer. My goal was simply to kill as many people as possible and then optionally escape. I had 49 points to spend, an average of 7 in each stat.

I assigned my stats as follows:

Strength: 6(I wanted it high enough to be good in melee, but it was one of the least important stats)
Combat: 10 (As my goal was to kill as many people as I could this was a must.)
Vitality: 7 (I left this alone, I needed as much health as I could, but I thought my other skills might help me not take damage in the first place)
Speed: 6 (6 points in speed gave me another square of movement and aided me in melee)
Stealth: 9 (I thought that stealth assassin would make me a killing machine, unfortunately I didn't realize it didn't work well against groups and in retrospect I might have put points elsewhere)
Awareness: 7 (this level of awareness gave me a good range of vision, so that I could actually spot both threats and victims)
Luck: 4 (I figured that since I excelled at everything else I would need luck less, so I put it at the level ordinary towns persons would have it)

I got to chose whether to start with a gun or a melee weapon, I choose melee and received a Wakizashi, which did 2 damage per hit and two hits per round.

I basically decided for my strategy that since I was focusing in stealth that I wasn't going to try to make friends, instead I would just hunt people down in stealth assassin mode.

Phase 1: I started in T-19, which was just west of the bridge leading to the military base. Despite my good perception, there was no one I could see in my perception range. (Askthepizzaguy mentioned he didn't want to doom anyone by starting them next to the serial killer.)

Since there was no one I could attack I decided to remain in my square and do a full search. I already had a good weapon, but I was hoping for a non-weapon like a herb or health pack.

Phase 2:
Unfortunately all my search found was a handgun far worse than my Wakizashi. However I did receive some good news in that I spotted another person 2 squares to the east of me (T-21). I had seen a few attacks in the writeup so I decided that I wouldn't waste time and chose to follow and attack them in stealth assassin mode and then following the surprise round engage him in one more round of combat before retreating.

My victim, Thermal Mercury, didn't spot me coming in so I got a free attack round followed by a regular round of combat. Unfortunately for me Thermal was either a master of the manhole cover or very lucky, and only one of my four strikes connected, though fortunately his single attack missed as well and due to the stealth nature he did not know who had attacked him.

Phase 3:
I was in the same square as Thermal Mercury (T-24), but I was also now a square away from Paulus Tertius (S-25), and also in sight of El Gigante (S-26). I decided that Thermal had been tough and that perhaps I should go after a different target. In retrospect I should have tried to finish Thermal Mercury off, but instead I elected to force Paulus Tertius into a round of combat and hope I was luckier.

In the combat with Paulus I managed to do 4 points of damage to him, but unfortunately he made his save to survive and fled with 1 health point.

Phase 4:
I realized I had made an error. I had forced him into combat instead of pursuing him, so after the combat he moved a number of squares away so I couldn't follow up and finish him off. I was now in S-25, and I saw two figures south of me, but I also was told that Paulus Tertius had fled to U-28 and that I could pursue him. I elected to do that hoping to finish him off.

Unfortunately he had wisely continued moving away from where he had been attacked and I was not able to reach him.

Phase 5:
I was now in the tank yard, (U-28) and both my earlier victims were out of range. I was getting frustrated that I had yet to earn a kill, but I decided to delay it again and do a full search since the military base was likely to contain valuable items.

The results of my search were mixed. I found a Bauer memo noting a way into the research station and more importantly I found a pair of Golden Lugers, These guns did 4 damage per bullet and fired two bullets per combat round and contained 12 rounds of ammunition and in addition removes 1 point of luck from the opponents. This was clearly a great weapon, but this is all came at a price because I also encountered a trap that took 2 HP off of me, leaving me at 5 HP.

Phase 6:
At this point I was getting annoyed that I had lost health and hadn't even gotten a single kill yet, and decided that it was time to get some kills. I expected that since I had 10 combat and could do 8 damage to each target that I could more or less annihilate anything that got in my path. From my position (U-28) I could see two people working together in the distance (T-26) I decided to pursue those two in stealth assassin mode. That's when all hell broke loose

I ended up in T-24 caught in a battle with El Gigante, an Omega Zombie (Major Robert Dump), and 7 towns people (AVSM, Cultured Drizzt Fan, Double A, Jolt, Rob_the_Celt, Sigurd, and Taka.)

My stealth beat out El Gigante's, but unfortunately I was spotted by Major Robert Dump.

In the ensuing chaos AVSM was killed by Major Robert Dump and there was a great deal of damage done to everyone around but everyone else survived the battle. Most frustrating to me was the fact that I was under the impression I would be doing 4 damage per hit, but I was only doing 2-3 damage to people and everyone I hit made their survival save so I hadn't gotten a single kill. Worst of all Major Robert Dump hit me for 3 points of damage, taking me down to 2 health and I still hadn't gotten any kills.

Phase 7: I briefly discussed an unholy alliance with Major Robert Dump, but he was against it. At this point I felt like I was pretty much screwed with low health and no kills. Since I was forced to flee after the combat I headed west and went in search mode hoping to get lucky and find a health item.

Unfortunately I found nothing useful and was pursued by the towns people (CDF, Double A, Pranas, Rob_the_celt, Sigurd, and Taka)
and by El Gigante. I manage to escape without damage while the townspeople killed El Gigante, at the expense of losing Double A and Rob_The_Celt.

Phase 8: I was tired of these jerks pursuing me, and I felt like I had already pretty much failed having only 2 health left and not having a kill to my name. I considered moving as far as I could west in stealth mode to escape them, but I was tired of running and I couldn't be certain I wouldn't die before I found a health item anyway. I decided that if I was going to go out I was going to go out in style, I chose to follow the group and fight to the death.

This was much more successful than the last battle. I managed to kill Sigurd, Taka, Beskar, and Cultured Drizzt Fan. However I was killed in return by Taka, and so ending my reign. This was a pretty epic way to go, so I don't regret my choice.

(I more or less stopped playing after my death)

Conclusion: Well I think I was fairly unlucky throughout the game, until the end I was just completely incapable of finishing anyone off. It seemed that everyone I attacked would make a save or somehow escape death. If it hadn't been for my final battle I wouldn't have had any kills at all. In retrospect I might have not taken stealth at all, and tried to be more subtle, making allies with the townspeople before backstabbing them. I think that might have been a more interesting way to play the game, getting my victims to trust me before stabbing them in the back.

I definitely enjoyed this game and if you ever ran another one or anything similar to it I would definitely sign up.

Much appriciated effort for this game ATPG, the working burden must've been massive.

Well done Wiz and the townies. You did get a major victory after all.

And well played las plaguas. Diana where did you capture your groom? I tried to get a hunch based on Seon's location, so I'm curious how correct I was (I guessed on further away from the bridge than the subway station). And it had to suck to end up facing us first battle after getting that combat upgrade. Had you won that battle, it would've been a owerwhelming victory for you. I'm very happy that you didn't run around with 10 luck as well. 10 vit and combat was enough.

Jolt, at turn 12 we had no idea of the use of metal detectors. We wouldn't even picked them up after the big battle if it wasn't for ATPG rolling random loot on all the loot. We had the chopper keys. Psycho did get the idea later on that it could be useful for escaping townies. Kept mine for "a total mess up at the end"- escape route. Not sure why FH kept his, but since we assumed that he knew our true identity after dying next to Psycho I guess he kept it as a spare. Giving it on turn 14 was planned, last space were we would be together. Without Wiz and company we would basically be "we're leaving to another exit, here take these metal detectors and good luck".
I thought the metal detector would cover all people in the same group. But I never asked ATPG, so uhm how did the metal detector work ATPG?
For trading, well we were mercs and wanted to keep our stuff. :juggle2:

Our run went like this:
Me and Blackadder were close so we were going to joined up, while Psycho went west from his position. I find a note mentioned the bio-lab key on my first search and Psycho goes for the key that is very close by. We start to meet up with people, so our STARS cover story is a recue mission on a person in the biolab. Among these we meet 'khaan, who will show up later. We warn them about the El Gigante just in awareness range, while moving towards the bridge. Just after the bridge we see an umbrella merc (the Stranger/Zain replacement at this point) and chases him down. I almost called of the second turn chase since if he ran in the wrong direction, it would cost us 2 turns. Blackadder insist, we chase him down, while he goes closer to the sudway station. So perfect combo.
Considered going zerk at the subway station (our orgininal plan was to always zerk inside the biolab and an advanced searching pattern. since only zombies and umbrella mercs were supposed to be there and we thuoght it was only one Omega sample. ATPG wrecked that on both accounts), lucky we didn't, since there was a huge group there. We meet Wishazu, get a big warning that he will go hostile if he knows our identity, and we saw him just severly would and slay two umbrella mercs. Luckily he didn't and seemed interested to go east. Khaan had appearently catched up with us so we had to keep our original cover story. To our horror all townies (Stuck in Pi, Csargo, Stilldawn, Confederate Jeb, Khaan, iirc) wants to go inside for a chopper. Suddenly our unknown single victorious escape route becomes quite clear. We consider hitting the townie group at the entering to prevent them from getting the Omega sample, but decides against. We move in. For the first time Psycho sees some action when he hits FH Umbrella assassin and some zombies in zerker. He barely survives after taking out most zombies. We joined up with most townies and didn't even consider that greyblades might also move in, so that's why Csargo takes him out. Umbrella faction dead, partial mission accomplished. we meet Winston (he's not in the role PM:s you posted ATPG, as isn't a pair of golden lugers, so some parts are missing), who has seen the zombie horde Psycho fought and got radio contact with Renata. Khaan decides to leave after trading the lugers for a wakizashi (downtrade btw, 6 damage weapon after speed boost for an 8 damage weapon). Next turn is mopping up the zombies at Psycho's location. Blackadder goes quick search, almost kills him, since only town defenders can protect others. He does find the hangar key so we feel very lucky. Psycho claims to be a special STARS agent after the omega for destruction (aka is the townies finds it, he wants it). We confirm him. Next search turn, we all find hangar keys and omega samples... Pulls a weak excuse that the female scientist (who also was Blackadder's sister) had already left. I'm fairly certain that they suspected us already here, since they were totally ok with that excuse. Next turn back at the bio lab subway station Csargo leaves because he suspected some of us and been in contect with Wiz (who post game have mention that he got intel on us the turn after we met) through the captured Umbrella radio contact. Funny stuff, had we known that we were clssified as enemy in the townie PM:s (instead of neutrals), we might have been more hostile than we actually were.
Now none seemed to be reacting on it though, even if the quicktopic started out suspiciously quiet at the start. This were still an interesting turn, since we knew that the chopper couldn't fit all, so mainly Psycho started to push for an elimination of the rest of the townies to prevent them from getting it. My suggestion of delay them one turn by torching a wagon would've saved them all ironically enough. Scrapped after we're getting more info from Renata. Split gets confirmed as omega and has hanged around for a while (obvious waiting for reinforcements) and they can see several groups nearby. And that's not counting a wounded plaga. We push for vigilante, while the townies fear split more than potential zombies (plagas are still considered a distant threat), thus going zerk vs split. Renata mentions they finding another exit.
At the subway station, the big battle starts. Me and Blackadder leaves unharmed shockingly enough. 3 was killed and infected by Diana, the 2 other by zombies. Only other survivor was FH in his new role, who also got a key now. Since he could fit the chopper, knows who we are and to be sure that he won't outrun us, we offer him a spot. He accepts. We suspect the tyrants will follow and sets up a nice trap (that's triggered by a cat!) and prepares for battle. It comes with Jolt, GH and Merlox caught in the middle. I think they were very happy that Greyblades moved in defensive mode. Stilldawn survives since he moved south of us just outside range. All townies are injured and we only got 1 healing item to spare. The last one kept for ourselves for backup, most used to patch Psycho up. Planned to trade it with Merlox, but he never confirms the trade. They are notably disinterested in trade, since they don't even try haggling. We basically say "we go this way", since we don't really bother about cover atm and they decide to join up, which we're ok with since they can't steal the chopper and are no threat. Tough call here, since Stilldawn were going stealth attacks and that was a significant risk for the townies, but our stay and fight isn't much better, since we needed to snipe him, thus having a significant loss of firepower. This is also what happens, Stilldawn kills GH, but get mauled by Psycho's gatling gun. Thus the plaga threat is finally ended. So we can escort the townies part of the way, give them a metal detector and they can get out of here.

We think we're home free now, since Wis should be going west to the gate right? And should we still meet him, we got enough firepower to take him down. Wrong. We meet him and a group of townies and he's getting a freaking tank. And we had skipped taking rocket launchers as our main weapons were stronger, except for an RPG launcher. And our cover story should be pretty wrecked by now, particular through the Csargo-Wiz contact Suspcious quicktopic+ some snooping around towards Psycho (since Wis wasn't sure of his status, someone started to fish. I don't remember who). Worry some for a while, until the shift to that we should stay. Yeah sure, one turn left from the exit. :juggle2: Quicktopic wise we find the idea brilliant. Luckily he doesn't attack and we get out.
Oh and may I recommend to add the flawless price mentioned in the trophy quicktopic, that's given if you get out without ever taking damage? Me getting through 6 combats unharmed is completely coincidential. :laugh4:

Edit:
Starting stats were

Strength: 1
Combat: 10
Vitality: 6 +1 after taking a yellow herb just before the subway battle
Speed: 3
Stealth: 1
Awareness: 7
Luck: 7

I was the tank, Blackadder scout and Psycho the runner. But we still had very simular stats.

Hm, I take it those getting sick needs to have constant saving throws every turn to not get turned? Frozen in ice got sick quite early on. :juggle2:

Actually here's how that worked. Every round, I would randomly select one name from the list of "alive" players who hadn't escaped yet. If they hadn't been selected before, they would get the following choice:

1. Remain a townsperson
2. Become an Omega Transformation

If they resisted the virus, the next time their name came up randomly, they forcibly converted to the omega. This happened to White_Eyes, who was the only player to join the zombie horde unwillingly, without being defeated in combat. Several people chose option one, several chose option 2.

Thanks for a great game Pizza, only you could put so much effort into a game and then, when it's over, rather than have a nice rest, put just as much effort into the post game analysis and scoring...

Slight moan: It was a slightly anti-climactic ending being "rescued" and not mentioned in the final write up as if we were a bunch of poor females needing the big man to come rescue us, I'd rather have died in a final round blaze of glory. That is selfish nitpicking however and didn't effect my enjoyment of the game.

Thanks for a great game Pizza, only you could put so much effort into a game and then, when it's over, rather than have a nice rest, put just as much effort into the post game analysis and scoring...

Thank you! I have reached the point where I may elect to toss up my hands and go "it's over, I'm done working on it." so I reserve that as an option if the post-game brings me as much pain as the hosting did.

I was usually quite happy to host this game, but if you guys noticed some of the writeup phases took 4-5 days or more. Those were the times when I would often find myself sitting at the computer, staring at the screen blankly, and wondering what I got myself into, and if this thing would ever, ever be completed... and if I could find the energy just to finish that one phase.

There were a few phases in particular where slogging through 40-50 character cards drove me batty. After a few of those, the quality and length of the private writeups you would get went down dramatically. I remember that Craterus had several long, detailed, entertaining private writeups which may be lost to history... some people got to experience some nice private reports. But after 7-8 rounds I just couldn't put into it what I intended.

Do you know that I pictured this game as being mostly about the private writeups? I never even intended for the public writeups to be that interesting or important. It was a game of secret movements and knowledge. Most of the creativity behind the game was supposed to be felt in your private reports every phase. That was a dumb dumb dumb move.... trying to describe in detail the surroundings of a fictional city for 50 people every 7 days or so, with only about 2-3 days to do it...

Yeah, that's why often times I just said where people were moving to and if they spotted anyone. I'm terribly sorry about that... at that point you'd have to use your imagination and picture the city around you yourself. That's not at all what I intended for the game.

Wishazu however constantly got detailed reports and "conversations" with Ingrid Hunnigan. Reading about his journey should be very interesting.

I had a pretty unlucky/lucky character when I think about it.....Ichigo was likely the only person more unlucky/lucky then me(I mean he killed all those zombies...I never want to mess with him:sweatdrop:)

Nice score that I racked up:beam:. Hard to even think I survived most of the game on luck alone(goes to show that it can't be ignored:book:)....I still have that PM where you where commenting on how I was pretty doomed when I turned into a Omega, was surrounded by 5 pretty well-armed townies and they all knew I transformed. I also had to laugh when you told me the Las Plagas team couldn't even defeat a dozen townies...and that it was suicide of me to even think, I could take on any townies with my combat score...:brood:

Overall, loved this game....even if I was running away 80% of the time:bounce:
