When unripened (the skin is a vivid green), they contain high amounts of starch sure, but who eats 'em like that anyway? When ripe (yellow skin), the banana has converted the starch into sugar and it's as healthy as most fruit, really.

When I searched for this on Google, it just looked like chopped fruit, but often there's a juice in there that's laden with sugar as previously stated; simply eating an apple instead would be fine, I should think.is the fruit cup really so bad? what do you recommend instead?
