I agree with Ituralde! Good job Cecil!
The only thing that bothers me is that large Family Tree picture but other than that it looks good!

Welcome back, Cultured Drizzt Fan, and congrats on surviving your three weeks of hell, GH.

Cecil - the library looks great. I wonder can you tell me how you manage to get 2 coats of arm on your sig - when I tried it, the second went onto lower lines. Can you post the code you used?

Wow, I just finally took a good look at the library and it's very impressive. Makes my attempts to put together a faq to post look rather sad, really.

Thanks for all the help, Cecil.

Sure thing econ, here you go:

And don't thank me about the library yet! I've still got to finish the invidual profiles, and there's also a couple of things that I'm waiting until the next session to post, as they're not really useful when we haven't played any.

Flax, I don't know if there's a problem with your PMs (or mine) but I sent you a note that said: Eloi is armed with a mace and moves one square up (0709).

Anyways, I'll send you another one for this turn but please answer me on this one to make sure it's received.

I just checked over my PMs again, I never received anything from you. Sorry. I did get your orders for this turn though.

On another note, my new computer (which I got last friday) has just died on me and I've lost all my notes for the tournament. I should be alright for the deadline tomorrow, but the writeup will take more time than I said in the tournament thread. Hopefully I'll catch up quickly enough. Thank you for your understanding.

Is there an easy way to note the names of everyone on the grid map?

I really can't tell who is who from just the mug shots.

I'm asking because I don't want to taunt someone and find they are all the way on the other side of the field.

I just assumed they are lined up the same way we are from left to right. Otherwise I just wrote some stupid things.

Why do the gemardines and lancers for the french have lesser stats than the other knights if they are supposed to be the best in europe?

I know, it's a bit of a let down, isn't it? I think the text is "best in the West" rather than Europe and "West" must not include Germany, as the Gothics would tear them up with their AP weapons. Still, at least the French have better uber-knights than Spain and Italy (unlike MTW).

The gendarmes I can understand - historically, they were below regular knights in status and associated military traditions. MTW described them as high quality militia.

The lancers, though, do lose out. Statistically, its because they have no shields. Compared to chivalrics, they have 9 armour whereas the chivalrics have 6 armour plus 6 for their shields. But historically, shields do not seem to have been used by knights in full plate, suggesting they were not needed. In MTW, shields gave less defence, the more armour you had - with no benefit for full plate. But M2TW did not follow that neat bit of programming.

When Lusted was asked about lancers, he said the stats hide the mass of the armoured mount - this will allow their charge to be more devastating than the barded or unarmoured mounts used by other types of French knight, as it penetrates the enemy's formation more.

Personally, I always quite like the ordinary mailed knights - compared to feudals, their stats are not too inferior while their unarmoured horses allow them to run down and catch retreating generals, which can be invaluable. I've never bothered too much about horse mass - I'd rather have speed.

Hmm, so we have a independent knight type order, lead by a man with no allegiance and that amount of marshal knowledge.

    Interesting...very interesting.

I wonder where this is leading to?

I haven't received any orders for Bertin de Monsault (woad&fangs), Gontran de Linars (Vladimir), Prince Louis (Ramses II CP) and Christophe de Perronne (TinCow).

I am delaying the deadline by 1 hour (21:00 EST) in the hopes everyone will be able to send their orders in time.

I looked at the tournament thread at least half a dozen times. I saw what my move should have been and thought to myself "Yup, that's the move I'm going to make." It seems that somewhere between that point and the point of actually sending in my orders, my brain failed and then failed to inform me of its failure.

Sorry, orders will be in PROPERLY from now on.

TC, I demand a triple failure of the redundancy failure system in your brain.

That should cover round 3 for the blue team.

TheFlax: it might be good in the tournament feedback to know what blows (high, medium and low) people in combat struck in the previous turn. That way, we can play rock-paper-scissors (RPS) with some "history". Without seeing what your opponent chose last turn, it's hard to try anything psychological (some people can consistenly win RPS games, although I am not sure how).
