Unit Description
Byzantine Guard Archers are a competent archer unit in the Byzantine army. They are armed with composite bows, swords, mail armor and a shield. They can fire regular shot or flaming arrows. Good for molesting enemy infantry units and capable of taking them on in melee too. Heavy infantry will eventually take them down but they can hold thier own for a while due to armor and weapon/shield combination. Cavalry or under a cavalry charge the Byzantine Guard Archer unit will waiver and eventually rout.
